Mario coming to Switch very soon - Nintendo E3

While Nintendo do not have a major presentation at E3 in recent years, they do use the event to demonstrate their upcoming releases and announce their big projects.

The big news from this years announcement is the pending released of the next major Mario game, Super Mario Odyssey. With a release date set for Oct 27th fans will not have long to wait and it should help to further promote the Switch console in the run up to the holiday season.

With Zelda: Breath of the Wild as a launch title the Switch got off to a great start, selling 2.7 million units in the first month. But it still has a long way to go to reach the hoped for 100 million over its product life time as Nintendo achieved with the Wii. Any wavering Nintendo fans though will surely be closer to making that purchase with a Mario game available to them.

In addition to Mario the Nintendo briefing announced a new Kirby game also for the Switch but not set for release until 2018, and a new role playing game, Mario and Rabbids Kingdom Battle from Ubisoft. No news yet though on a Super Smash Bros Switch game.

There was also a demo of a Switch version of Rocket League with exclusive vehicles promised, as well as confirmation of add on packs for Zelda BotW titled The Master Trials and The Champion's Ballad .

Two further announcements were for a planned fourth sequel to the Metroid Prime series and to the jubilation of our resident Pokemon fans a Switch based Pokemon game. There is no news yet though on the release date for these.

So are you a nintendo fan and looking forward to these new adventures? If you have been thinking about getting a Switch will these help you make the jump? Or are you still waiting for more? Let us know below.
