Our Top 5 Best Reasons to Get Battlefield 1

Experience the closest representation of World War 1 in DICE's latest masterpiece, Battlefield 1. In this game, you revisit war stories told by various veterans who survived—thus, reliving the harsh experiences that they went through. Starting from the game's signature multiplayer feature, which is the current go-to feature for squad or team- based gameplay, these are just a few reasons why Battlefield1 is one impressive entry to Battlefield's already impressive lineup. Below are five reasons Battlefield 1 is definitely a game that gamers should definitely experience and enjoy.

Impressive Campaign - As previously mentioned, Battlefield 1 takes place during the first World War—which was a war in which the lines weren't clearly drawn, where there wasn't a clear cut enemy that was identified, where the form of warfare transitioned and transformed from horseback cavalry to more modern firearms like we have today. The campaign mode in the game wonderfully displays this wonderfully as the dark outcomes of war were carefully emphasized. One of the early missions gets this message clear as you shoot your way through a battlefield wherein you unfortunately die. Then the name of the soldier appears showing how fast a life is taken in war. Afterward, you are thrust into different periods in the war by stories told by the survivors. Doing this will take you around the world to various places--from luscious forests and mountainsides to scorching deserts.

Excellent Graphics - The graphics in this game are one of the most beautiful graphics and animations you will see in any of the recent game releases. Bordering on seemingly photo-realistic quality, DICE certainly did their best in making this game a visual treat to everyone who plays it -- especially on a PC with high settings. From simple effects like smoke from the flames of war, to the gas that is hazardous to your health that you put on gas masks, to the rubble that scatters everywhere courtesy of the many explosions. The tiny details are also exceptional—like the particle effects created when a blimp crashes into the ground is truly a sight to behold. The animations from simple things, such as the realistic reaction of a soldier who panics after his flamethrower pack is punctured, is also amazing to watch.

Superb Squad / Team-based gameplay - Battlefield has always been the choice of gamers who prefer teamwork over the other usual first person shooters. Battlefield 1 retains this feature by having players commit to certain roles in battle. These roles come in the form of classes. There is the Assault class which is your basic infantry and focuses on dealing damage to its target. Then there is the Medic class that is focused on healing and reviving teammates. Next is the support class that focuses on keeping the team on the offensive by resupplying the team and laying traps for the enemies. Then there’s also the Scout class which acts as the long range sniper that supports its team from afar. Aside from the regular classes, Elite classes can be obtained for a limited time through obtaining them as pickups in the map. The Sentry class puts you in control of a heavy infantry clad in thick armor while wielding a heavy machine gun and allowing you to take on almost everything. Next is the Tank Hunter class is focused on dealing with vehicles from a long range with its anti-tank rifles. Last is the Flame Trooper class which uses a flamethrower and incendiary grenades as its primary weapon. With these classes, each player has a more integral role and gives a direct effect on accomplishing whatever the objective the current game mode has.

64 player multiplayer - The staple of the Battlefield franchise is the amount of players a game could have and Battlefield 1 is no exception. The game boasts an impressive amount of players--64 total players on the map, 32 on each team. Having this much players allows the game to have a degree of excitement and unpredictability. Even more impressive, is when your team manages to pull off a well-coordinated tactic that turns the tide of a match to your favor.

Game Modes - Battlefield 1 boasts a myriad of game modes. There is the Conquest game mode, which is a favorite among Battlefield players. The goal of this mode is to take control of certain key objectives on the map. To battle it out, players can either go on foot or start controlling one of the many vehicles in the game.

Domination is a simpler version of the traditional Conquest mode. Infantry is the main focus of the game and the vehicles are missing from this mode. The objectives are also trimmed down to only suit the infantry gameplay. Here the maps are smaller so as not to leave all the players scattered throughout a large level.

Then there is the Rush mode, which is a mode wherein one team attacks and one team defends. The targets here are Telegraph Posts. The attacking forces must detonate them with the provided bombs and the defenders can call in artillery strikes. If a post is destroyed, the defending team must retreat to another area and defend from there. The attackers win if all Telegraph Posts are destroyed. The defenders win if they are able to eliminate all enemy reinforcements or have at least one Telegraph Post still standing when the match ends.

One of the newer modes and one of the odd yet funny ones, is the War Pigeons mode. In the War Pigeons mode, you are tasked to find the pigeon and carry it to safety while writing your message and eventually letting the pigeon fly away with the message to launch an artillery strike on your enemies. The pigeon may die if the enemy manages to shoot it before it flies far enough. Once the pigeon sets out, an artillery strike will be launched at the enemy.

Team Deathmatch is the most basic mode most shooters have with Infantry units only. One team is pitted against another with the aim of getting as much kills as possible before the game ends. An added bonus is a concept that originated from the previous game, Star Wars Battlefront. Here there are set intervals wherein special bonuses spawn in the map and offer a heavy increase in offensive a power. Be it special weapons or upgrading to special elite units. The team that has the most points at the end of the match is hailed the winner.

Operations is the new mode that Battlefield 1 has come up with. It is an amazing mode that emphasizes on continuing effort as it allows you to go across different maps and different objectives based on your performance on the previous maps as a continuing effort. The mode is a tad bit similar to the Rush mode in that the base objectives are the same. The attacking team's goal is to push the defending team as far as possible while the defending team's goal is to hold the line. The objectives on each area or point vary depending on the map. Vehicles are also present in the game and aid a team tremendously if they are used right. The attacking team wins if the defending team runs out of points. The defending team wins if they manage to hold the line and exhaust the attacking team's reinforcements. Basically it is a giant combination of the Rush and Conquest game modes. This mode is, however, very time-consuming and will take a good amount of hours to complete. Completing it with a team you trust however is very fulfilling and enjoyable. It is certainly a welcome addition to the existing Battlefield game modes.

Furthermore, Operations offer epic journeys across several maps based upon real battles of World War I. Adding this meta-layer to the game mode, and stretching it across multiple interesting locations that both look and play very differently, adds a whole new layer of scale and variety to the battles in Battlefield 1. Your team can win on one map, proceed to the next map, and actually see the map you previously fought over on the horizon. Now, isn’t that a sight to behold?
