5 Reasons We Love Titanfall 2

When a regular first person shooting game isn't enough, gamers would usually yearn for worthy upgrades to the game such as a fast-paced and a vastly improved multi-directional maneuverability. When that still doesn't make the cut, then adding a mech may make all the difference. After all, who doesn't love mechs?

This is where Titanfall 2 comes in. Titanfall 2 is a first person shooter game developed by Respawn Entertainment and Published by Electronic Arts. It is also the sequel to the Titanfall released in 2014. The Titanfall sequel carries vast improvements from its predecessor. With such noteworthy changes, playing Titanfall 2 is the best way for gamers to get into the franchise in case they missed out on playing the first Titanfall game because of its platform exclusivity. If all this hasn't managed to win you over, then here are five reasons, we believe, that make Titanfall 2 a game that is definitely worth your time and money.

Mechs - Titanfall 2's main selling point is the ability to summon a Titan that you can control and use to dominate the game. In the first Titanfall, there were only three titans. Now, the developers expanded the number of available titans to six unique titan classes, with an extra two titans in single player which makes a total of eight titan classes.

Every titan class has their own special roles to fulfill. For example, the Legion class is a deadly hulk that can take and deal serious damage. The Ion class is a relatively well-balanced titan that is perfect for newer players ease into the game. Then there is the Scorch class that uses fire for offense and defense as well. Then you have the Northstar class, which is the only titan that has the ability to fly and deal massive damage from afar with its railgun. Gamers can also pick the Tone class which has a rather explosive choice for its arsenal. Lastly there is also the melee Ronin class which wields a huge sword that’s perfect for getting up close and personal with your opponents. These choices of mechs or titans will make it easy for every player to enjoy the game in their own play style.

Maneuverability - When you aren't on a titan, you can be extremely agile by utilizing your jetpacks to perform wall runs, hover over anything, and even double jumps. You also have a grappling hook added to have more traversal options. Being agile is crucial in Titanfall 2's fast-paced action since it requires that you have excellent reflexes and a level of awareness—not only of your horizontal surroundings but also of the vertical space as opponents also have the level of maneuverability you have. This means that you can be attacked from above if you aren't careful or alert enough. To stay on top of the game, you will have to combine all the available in-game skills with your personal skills as a gamer. All these skills are, for example, put to the test when an enemy titan suddenly shows up—prompting a David vs. Goliath type of battle to begin.

Improved Single Player Campaign – In the first Titanfall, the campaign mode was criticized to be short—as the story seemed rushed and overall unsatisfactory. Respawn Entertainment, however, learned from this mistake and rightfully added a full-fledged campaign. Not only that, the improved version of the story actually feels satisfying as it also has an amazing level design and worldbuilding features. Imagine this, you go to a beautiful alien planet, battle with its inhabitants—with time travel elements added to spice up the already impressive mix. The characters in the game also feel well fleshed-out and are way likeable than what the previous Titanfall offered. It absolutely doesn't feel that it was simply tacked on to continue the franchise. Unfortunately, the campaign feels rather short and is easy. The reason behind this could be that the game simply gave us a well-paced and a good story that we simply didn't notice the time. This simple criticism is, however, not a detriment to the game but could serve as a sign that the developers are on the right track by improving the campaign mode. Here's to hoping Titanfall 3 will happen soon and that it would have a story that will successfully build on the already great story we have now.

There is no Season Pass as all maps and modes will be free - Turning away from the previous Titanfall game where the offer of paid Season Passes and DLC had somehow effectively split the player base by separating those who purchased the new content and the old content. Then for the new maps, there was a clamor from players to have more players to play with in the game. Respawn Entertainment has decided to ditch that model and offered to have all maps and modes for free. This approach seems like a FAR better option as it seems to be on the side of the consumer than their previous model. Now, when you buy the game, you will receive all their DLC and map packs for free. This is a very good path for Respawn to take because it shows trust in its product and it doesn’t make gamers feel that the money is the only thing that matters in the game.

Exciting Fast-Paced Multiplayer with Extensive customization – The Multiplayer mode is one of the biggest hooks in this franchise. Here you battle against other players in different game modes. There is the Amped Hardpoint which is a standard point capture and hold mode; the Bounty Hunt, which is a mode where you deposit cash from slain opponents with the aim of having more cash than the other team; the Pilots vs. Pilots mode, which is a mode wherein you fight pilots only; the No Titans mode; the Capture the Flag, which is your standard Capture the Flag mode; the Attrition mode where you are placed in a team against another player team and an AI team; the Skirmish mode, which is your basic Team Deathmatch; the Last Titan Standing mode, wherein you all start with a titan and the last surviving titan wins the game; and then there’s the Free for All mode, which is your basic free for all mode wherein everyone is your enemy.

To further enhance the already impressive multiplayer feature, customization is also in the game wherein you can customize the look of your pilot and titan by adding various accessories or perhaps changing color schemes to outright fun decals, like shark teeth, to your titan's "face". The game also allows you to customize your weapons with camouflage options for you and your titan, execution animations, as well as abilities and perks that have an effect on your play style.

These are just our top reasons to play Titanfall 2. The best and the only way to truly appreciate the wonders of the game is by simply trying out the game for yourself.
