If you have played WoT you already know why this game is Number One - if you have not yet had the chance to experience it, well you are in for a treat.
As unlikely as it may sound, the wizards behind this F2P masterpiece have managed to put together and create a very well-balanced highly addictive game in which the tank is the star.
Or perhaps we should say the Tanks - since the game presents the player with a full selection of historically accurate tanks spanning two World Wars and then some, and the major world powers. That means Russia, the USA, Britain, France, Japan, China, and of course Germany. Well of course Germany!
Depending on the country you choose to serve the selection of tanks ranges from just a few (in the case of China) to piles and piles. And the types - there are many types - from Light and Medium to Heavy and even Tank Destroyers and Mobile Artillery pieces!
Sounds cool, right? Well the fact that it is a Free-2-Play title makes it even more cool! Why? Because while you CAN spend money to skip putting in the battle time to level up and earn the rewards that are required to unlock and purchase new tanks (and tank types) as well as upgrade them, if you happen to be one of those gamers who likes earning their way, well...
Put it this way - instead of spending money to skip all that, you could oh, we don't know, actually put in the play time to earn those rewards? Heck yeah!
One of the best things about this game is the fact that every time you play you are playing against other live human people. Well, we are pretty sure most of them are human. They certainly are unpredictable and offer a heck of a challenge!
Actually that is also one of the biggest drawbacks of the game as well - because the game has built a very large community of enthusiastic players and, while that does not necessarily bode ill for you, when the day comes that you drop into a game in which a crack team (think guild) is the opposing side, their superior tactics and communication will probably teach you that coordination is its own reward.
Just saying. But then having said it, that is all the more reason to download this one and dig in! And once you do you will have absolutely no confusion about how World of Tanks Xbox 360 Edition scored the Number One Slot in our Top 10 F2P Games.

Considering that the F2P market has largely been a thing more closely associated with PC and the mobile gaming platforms of the iOS and Android spheres it is completely understandable if as a console player you are not familiar with them.
