Top 10 TV Shows that Should be Made into a Major Game

9. Brimstone

Some programs are sadly taken off the air before they even get a shot at the recognition they deserve. Still, there are instances where fans are so adamant to the return of their favored world that a renewal of some sort happens. Family Guy is famous for its cancellation, only to be brought back by sheer community response. Firefly, one of the biggest sci-fi hits of recent years, is getting its own game as well, so it can't be featured here.

At the turn of the century, there was another underrated run that only received one season: Brimstone. It involved a murdered policeman, Ezekiel Stone, who was sent to hell for the murder of his wife's rapist. It just so happens that The Devil has a deal in store for the cop. Some pesky hell spawn have escaped and Stone's rogue detective skills are perfect to bring those souls back. Should that work, the officer will be sent back to life.

A few years later in TV land, Reaper approached a similar bounty hunter from hell subject, which would make it a nice candidate here. Still, Reaper's zany use of weird props and bumbling heroes would make for another light-hearted tale. Brimstone is chosen because it has a chance to make a grittier game, much like Max Payne with demons. That would connect to a wide audience, without passing it off as mindless divertissement. It'd stick. Instead of getting caught up in the gruff noir style, however, this action title could lean on its supernatural pitch to chase down evildoers, one by one.

Each demon has a specific weakness that needs to be found, to destroy their eyes, which leads them back to damnation. As such, Stone could sniff out clues or observe crime scenes to get closer to each target. Additionally, action could be complemented with some heightened powers that trap escapees while Stone lines up that finale blow to the eyes. Murdered: Soul Suspect recently tried the ghost detective thing, but it came short. Brimstone's bounty game could both redeem the supernatural bloodhound genre and launch a new wave of fans.
