07. Death by Idle (Sonic CD)
In most video games players can usually find a safe spot to walk away from the game for a moment to do things like eat, use the toilet, take out the trash because their wife is totally channeling their mother from when they were 13... The point is, you can usually find someplace to stop while you do those things.
If you happen to be playing Sonic CD? Yeah, not so much... Unless of course you can get your business done before three minutes roll off on the timer.
Because if you don't get back and move Sonic before the timer hits the three minute mark, why that blue hedgehog gets right angry with you, announces “I'm outta here!” and then commits suicide by jumping off the screen and falling to his death, followed by the “Game Over” screen!
Now seriously, a video game character with no patience? You know in theory video game characters are like cops - we pay their salary - so if we want to wander off to the kitchen and grab a hot pocket and fresh cup of OJ that should not be justification for suicide!

What's bizarre for me is that this particular death from TWD made it into this list. I finished this game multiple times, and never once have I died making this jump. Never knew I could until I read this list...
Gta4 helicopter glitch when u spawn or buy a helicopter while u r inside it the helicopter bounces around for a few seconds or minute then blows up also it doesn't let u out of the garage and if u enter it

In the Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, if you tried equipping Boots of Water-Walking while ankle deep or more in water, you'd instantly be killed.
That game also had the scrolls of Icarian flight, which let you jump ridiculously high and far but wore off before you would land. The result is that if you don't know to use another, you will die if you land on land. I am not sure about landing in water.
Clock Tower series had a few bizarre ways to die. like in the SNES version if you walked up to any mirror and looked into it... some hand would shoot out and randomly choke you. being killed by your own reflection...

In the first, there's that ring beneath the bridge, which you have to jump to, for instance.
Dust 514. As a rookie, call for a vehicle drop, and you see a new marker, you get closer to check it out. BAM! Vehicle drops right on top of the marker, on top of you.
what about the one in silent hill one or two you beat the game badly and end up dead in your car not a mark on you
