Top 10 Unlikely Celebrity Gamers You Might Have Played With

07. Matthew Perry (Xbox)

Back in October 2002 Nintendo decided to throw a massive celebrity bash in Hollywood to introduce their 2002 Holiday Lineup to both celebs and the media. One of the Celebs who showed up was Matthew Perry (Friends / 17 Again), who it turns out, is a serious gamer.

Well-known for his voice work in commercials, did you know the guy who brought the world Chandler Bing has done voice work in games? Well, in one game if we are being completely honest, but it was a role he admits he would have done for free if they had not offered to pay him. There is a story here...

After he discovered Fallout III (word is it was more addictive for him than drugs and that is saying something) he was so enthusiastically hooked that he felt the need to share the game with friends, colleagues, strangers sitting next to him on a plane, and, well, everyone.

During an appearance on Ellen to promote a movie, having heard that she was collecting donations for a celebrity charity auction, Perry gave her a copy of Fallout III that he had signed, and a brand new Xbox 360, telling her that while the donation was for the auction, she had to play that game herself because it is so awesome he could not stop playing it.

He went on to explain that he actually obtained a repetitive-stress-related hand injury that required shots as a result of excessive gaming, because the game is THAT good!

A producer at Bethesda who is a fan of Ellen saw the show and ended up offering Perry a voice role as wannabe gangster Benny in New Vegas, a role Perry jumped at. It's not that great a surprise then that Perry discovered a like for WoW is it? Can you imagine? Playing WoW with Chandler Bing? Wow.
