How to Build a Relationship
In order to build a successful relationship for one of your Sims, you first have to introduce them to others. The relationship tiers can be seen below:
Stranger:
This if the first stage which means your Sim has never encountered the other.
Acquaintance:
Reaching this level, but talking to another Sim, rewards you with 100 XP and the 'Hand Shake' action.
Friend:
Don't be horrible to the other Sim and you can reach this stage, with a 150XP reward to boot.
Good Friend:
Reach this stage to unlock the 'Bro Hug' interaction and the 'Ask to Move In' interaction. To have reached this point, focus on being as kind and friendly as possible to the target Sim - getting to this stage is relatively simple.
Best Friend:
This is the final stage of a standard friendship, anything more begins to turn into romance. You can do a 'Chest Bump' at this point, but from here on you will need to be romantic to advance. To do this, look at performing the 'Be Romantic' or 'Dance' interactions.
Budding Romance:
Use 'Be Romantic' and 'Dance' to unlock this stage, 150 XP and the 'Kiss Hand' action - this will allow you to advance even further through the ranks.
Date:
The next step up from 'Kiss Hand' is 'Kiss Cheek', for 200 XP and the knowledge that your Sims are now dating!
Partner:
This is the final stage in the relationships tree, opening up the path to marriage with the 'Propose Marriage' interaction once you have reached the limit of the Partner relationship. You can also 'Woohoo', The Sims series ever-sought after replacement for sex.
