There have been numerous content updates released for The Sims FreePlay since its launch on mobile platforms. A list of those so far are below, along with a description of what they have added to the experience:
Marriage and Babies:
As the name suggests, this update allowed players to get married and have children in The Sims FreePlay for the first time. There are various conditions that you have to satisfy however, including being a certain Level, buying a ring, and obviously meeting the approval of your target. For babies you only need to purchase a Crib - at which point you can effectively order a baby delivery...
This was a limited edition update released at Easter 2012. Who knows, they may do the same again this year. It allowed you to buy a pet rabbit, as well as Easter-themed wallpaper and items.
This update allowed your babies to grow up into toddlers. It gave the option of buying a birthday cake to facilitate the move into the next age group. You are also now able to build a Children's Store on the map, which obviously allows you to get new toddler-focused toys, and purchase a Dress Up Chest, to deck out your toddler in lots of hideous outfits!
The Social update was one focused on interactions with friends and, well, the social side to your Sims. It not only sees new social items for your Sim-friends to enjoy, but various methods to facilitate social play with your real friends. The headline piece of content was the Party Boat, which you can visit with your Facebook friends to get daily rewards. You can check the leaderboards, which include the value of your town, your level, and Sim Count, compared against friends. It also added a Nightclub, with cocktails and DJ'ing. Finally, more Pets were added, including the sought-after Cats, and Fish tanks.
The Style update added a Salon to be built on the game map. This allowed you to give you Sims a complete makeover, including tattoos, beards, new hair - generally anything you could want to help sculpt and mould your Sim in your own image, or make them look hideous instead! There were also some new house types unlocked in this update to give the game's buildings a bit more diversity.
The inevitable update arrived to The Sims FreePlay, which added to the Toddlers add-on. Now, players are able to bake a Birthday Cake for their Toddler, to grow them into a pre-teen Sim. They are then able to attend School, once you've built it, and take part in new sports - and of course, the School is a good place for adults to work too. This update also added a bunch of new items aimed at keeping pre-teen Sims happy.
This update added various Halloween-timed challenges, including the ability to unlock a Haunted House! For permanent additions, however, Sims are now able to take up the Ghost Hunter hobby, while new objects themed around Halloween and new places to visit, like a Costume Shop, were also thrown into the mix.
For this update players got a 12 Days of Christmas incentive, including daily gifts from the developers, and lots of Christmas-themed items and clothing. Again, however, there were a few permanent additions, including the ability to Fish in the park, new events accessible via the Competition Center, and a Fashion Design Career.
