Unova Link

Unova Link is part of the process of modernizing the game series by offering online and player-to-player content. It includes three unique modes, Key Link, Memory Link, and Nintendo 3DS Link.

Key Link

During game play when you complete specific actions you will obtain keys that unlock features in the game -- these could be special areas or other features. To access these in your game you must load to the main menu, select Unova Link, then Key Link, and change the active key to the one you want. This in turn manifests its changes in your game

In addition to this, each of the games has keys that are unique to it, and in order to obtain those in the other game you need to trade keys with a partner who has the opposite game from you. Once you trade keys you can then unlock the special area related to that key in your game via the normal steps as illustrated above. Note that you will need to do this in order to obtain all of the Pokemon for your Dex.

Rock Peak Key -- Underground Ruins changed for Regirock -- From Beginning

Memory Link

The Memory Link allows your Pokemon Black 2 & White 2 games to collect data from Black & White related to your game . The connection process can be completed via local wireless or over Nintendo WiFi Connection.

This mode affects:

A New Light: After entering the palace, Drayden is thinking of the past at Opelucid City.

A Triple Team: In the Striaton City Restaurant, listen to Cilan, Cress & Chili's emotions.

Different Bones & Dreams: At the NacreneCity Museum, listen to what Bone Specialist Lenora has to say.

Goodbye, My Loved Star: The owner of the Musical in Nimbasa City is reminiscing.

Hearts' Desire: At a certain building with a frozen floor in Icirrus City, Brycen awaits.

Meeting Friends, Saying Good-Bye: At a Pokemon Center, a Breeder is thinking about Pokemon.

Nintendo 3DS Link

Chances are this will be the most often used feature, as it allows you to bring items and Pokemon you have captured in Pokemon Dream Radar over to your game. This is required in order to obtain Pokemon with their Hidden Abilities as well as the special Therian forms of Tornadus, Thundurus and Landorus.
