Date of Question: Feb 25 2007 | Question ID: 78335 Hi I'm new at this game and I was wondering how do you get bait for the fishing rod. Also how do you get the cat and the bees down?

You don't really need bait for the fishing rod to catch the fish that the cat wants. Yes you must catch a fish for the cat. If you want bait you can buy it at the shop. Or you can climb up the vines near the waterwheel and youse the hawk grass there to call a hawk and send it flying at the beehive. Which will knock it down and you can get bait in a bottle there for a limited time.

1) you don’t need bait.
2) the quickest way to knock the bees down is to use the hawk on top of the mayors house.
3) you need to catch 2 fish on the pier in front of the cat. He will run off with the second one.

You can either use bee larve as bait (use a bottle after breaking the hive) or worms (found later in the lure fishing area).
Climb up the vines and call the hawk using the grass, aim him at the hive & press A. Then jump other platform & aim the hawk at the monkey, he will bring you a basket. Give it to the mother in exchange for a fishing rod. Catch two fish to get the cat back (when the bobber goes down, lift the wiimote up).

Beehive: Go up to the guy on the ledge who asks you to z-target him and talk to him. Jump on to the next ledge and pick the grass to whistle on a hawk. Aim the hawk at the beehive and let it go. The hawk will attack the hive and destroy it.
Bait: You can but it at the shop once you've returned the cat.
Cat: Get the fishing rod (return the baby's basket that the monkey has with the hawk) and fish near the cat. After catching your first fish, the cat will start to become interested in you. Catch a second and the cat will grab it and run home with it. Go back to the shop and get a 1/2 filled bottle of milk from the shopkeeper.
