Swing like a bat? Beating Zelda is not the same as baseball...haha
However, lock on to her and when the sparky ball forms, hit it when it reaches you. That is the only move that will hurt Zelda. There is no other way to do it. Avoid everything else.
PS - If you don't want to use your sword to hit the sparky ball back to Zelda, an empty bottle works just as well. Just try not to laugh so hard while doing so...ok? I don't know how or why it works either...but it does. Good luck!
