Well if you leave a dungeon you will not beat it. You can however leave dungeons and come back to them later. I don't know what specific dungeon you are talking about though.

You can use the "bird" named Oocoocoo (or something like that) which you find in the dungeon to leave whenever you want. You will be able to go outside and when you want to come back, simply use his son (who goes with you outside) to teleport right back to where you were. Always use this "bird" before you save too because instead of having to find your way back through the dungeon, you'll be able to load your game and then teleport back to your spot.
