Ok, so I am having trouble with the forest temple, I have defeated the ass smacking ape and got the boomerang, then I saved and quit, now I am at the beginning of the temple and cannot get back to the ape to save another monkey..HELP!

Just go back and jump across the broken bridge with the aid of the monkeys.
