Inside each Skylander and the adventure pack is a little computer chip or circuit that puts out a signal when it is sitting on the portal. Each skylander does not contain a battery so this is a "passive" device. Kind of like the toll car in your car, or the employee badge that will open a locked door. You would have to know what the code inside IS and have the necessary equipment to create a device that would reproduce that "signal".

This is HIGHLY technical and would require someone with SERIOUS computer skills. It would also require actually having a copy of each adventure pack that can be torn apart to get AT the chip inside. OR a VERY extensive knowledge of computer programming and the skills necessary to disassemble the game itself and figure out what the code is that is needed to activate each adventure pack. Then you would have to have a fairly expensive eprom burner to "create" your own chip that mirrors what is in the one in the ad pack.

This is not really cost effective. It is much cheaper and easier to simply purchase the adventure pack.

The only method that I can think of that would work is to find a "friend" that has the adventure packs and borrow the central figure in the ad pack. Ad-packs are not machine specific, so you can use one that works on a different console, just fine. If you put it on your portal, the game will recognize it and ADD that adventure to your area in the ruins. On my game, once I added the ad pack, the new area reappeared in the ruins evert time I start the game. I don't have to put the central figure on the portal again after that. (By the way, that central figure is ALSO a one time use (per level) super powerful weapon) When I started a brand new game on my console, the ad pack was gone, so I had to put it on the portal again. So if you can borrow one, you can add it to your game and then give it back to the friend.

If money is a problem, remember that AFTER you play the game and are tired of it, you can probably sell everything on Ebay and get some of your money back. Or donate the whole thing to a school or home or something that is less fortunate.
