Okay first of all this game is great and has well over 150+ hours of gameplay but we all already knew that didn't we? No you're here for the cold hard truth behind the game and i'll tell you like it is this game is well worth buying even though it sadly has it's fair share of problems.
Now don't get me wrong the game DOES look great but most plants look poorly rendered when you get up close if you look at the ground in most places you will see the squares that actually make up the foundation of the game itself not to mention that you will eventually end up somehow falling into a boulder "An annoying glitch that was in oblivion as well" I have also seen areas of water that have lost their surface and it looks like you are swimming in air when you jump in. There are four types of ereas in the game as well. Forested,Plains,Tundras and flatlands mainly devoid of plants and trees. Again, Could have done better.
Okay first thing's first. Almost EVERY freaking male nord sounds like the terminator! 90% of male nord npcs are voiced by the SAME guy!>:( The music is nice as befits an elder scroll game though I feel they could have done better by bringing in a full orchestra And while trying to listen to someone talk during a quest you will be often interrupted by jackasses you aren't even looking at and may have to re-load a save point so you can hear more clearly.
Eesh man this is where the game shines and bombs at the same time. Veteran players will begin their quest to find a completely new control scheme as well as a new equipment screen which will get them killed constantly until they get used to it. Dual wielding may be cool but for some retarded reason you lose ALL ability to block while doing so. The ability to make your own spells has been taken away and you have to destroy items to learn their enchantments so you can enchant other items. The game also sometimes lags when you are fighting which is obviously BAD. There are also annoyingly enough several BS glitches that prevent you from enjoying the full game such as quests that "freeze" and screw you out of completeing storylines. On my main character the main, storm cloak and companion storylines are ALL glitched there is no excuse for this much of an oversight by ANY game developer yet alone bethesda! But overall when the game behaves it is a diamond in the rough with fast paced combat with strong enemies appearing out of nowhere to punish you if you aren't prepared and is deserving of a buy and future patches should fix most of these problems.
The game map is large and will take weeks upon weeks of playing to fully explore and the regular influx of mods constantly add new reasons to keep playing I myself have put in over 50 hours on my level 56 Khajit knight and am still playing now it's good fun and a great time killer.
Lets face facts here the game was released before it was ready and has glitches but in this instance it is acceptable because bethesda will surely correct the mistake and patch them but for the fact that my first memory of skyrim was of the game freezing before I even took one step and the fact that the game will sometimes lag out during combat for no apparent reason forcing you to save and load the long and veiny of it is that you will love this game glitches and all and it will last you well into 2012!
