eidos pc version not working at white seed ship

After I talk 2 edea and get the letter I run into the white seed ship and nothing happens.is this a software problem or have I missed something?solutions?
Probably the worst thing that can happen 2 any rpg fan,is getting halfway through a game and then getting stuck because the games stuffed. :)
