Ok so I've gone through the whole palace and I've got to the end, up the staircase to the final candle which should be able to light up and give me a boss battle. However nothing comes up that I can press X to. Im guessing that it's because I didnt get the red thing from the hidden area behind the top bookcase section in the library. I lit a candle below and I cannot access the hidden area anymore, only the bottom one. I don't think I can blow the candles out. What do I do?

If you are not getting ! Above the characters head it means you have not yet lit all of the candles in front of the stained glass windows, you have to go back and check.
