going steady?

I just started playing sims 2 for pc and my sims wants keep asking to go steady with another sim but I can't figure out how to make them.
Also I was wondering how to get engaged because when I clicked on it all it said was move in. Now the engage option doesn't even show up.
HELP WOULD BE MUCH APRCIATED

Ok, first in order to go steady you have to click your sim then click on the new sim (get them over to your house or invite them to a store or park), click on the propose button then click go steady. Next, I think you have to have them move in before you can get engaged. You can always move out if the house is a problem.

Your Sims have a good relationship before the go steady option is present. Try making them become best friends first, and let them flirt a bit an appreciate each other.

The same goes for proposing. They don't have to move in together first. Make sure they are in love first.

In order to go steady, (teenagers only) both sims have to have a high enough relationship, make them friends, then possibly best friends. Once high enough go steady will appear under propose. For the engagement one, the engagement option only comes up if the sims relationship is high enough I never get it unless my sims are best friends and in love. To be best friends it's 50/50 for both bars and love is 70 for lifetime. Then under propose, engagement will be there. The sim you want to propose to does not have to move in. You just have to have a high enough relationship. Hope I helped.
