Go outside the castle and go to the bottom,jump right under the bridge (The one that leads you to the door)and jump three times.Mario should start jumping really high.

You know the 1-up mushroom outside the castle, aren't you?
If not do this :climb up the third tree from the waterfall then jump off from it(someone said you have to handstand on it but you haven't)and as quickly as you can crouch. If done fast enough the mushroom can't get you 'til you crouch or crawl it will go above and around Mario's head.

If you've ever explored the area around Peaches castle, you probably found a mysterious grate like thing on the ground near the water; this is a cannon grate. How is it opened? Its a difficult bonus to get as the grate is only opened by the obtaining of all 120 stars.

What this cannon leads to the roof of the castle. What's the point of getting on top of the castle? Yoshi is up there(along with 3 extra lives, and a flying cap) and Yoshi(helpful as ever) will say "Mario!!! Is that really you??? It has been so long scince our last adventure! They told me I might see you if I waited here, but I'd just about given up hope! Is it true? Have you really beaten Bowser? And restored the stars to the castle? And saved the princess? I knew you could do it! Now I have a very special message for you. 'Thanks for playing Super Mario 64! This is the end of the game, but not the end of the fun. After wich Yoshi raises your lives to 100 total, and gives you a special third jump(after you jump twice in a row, jumping higher each time) wich is both shiny, and hurts enemies when they are hit by it! Pretty awesome. :)

To Sprint, do a long jump onto an agled surface (like the ramp leading down to the moat) and keep holding the Control Stick forward. If done corectly, you will run really fast until you reach the top of the ramp.

After you get 120 Stars go on the roof and Yoshi will give you 100 lives. This is my very first hint So it's only short but kool, huh?

To get the Red, Wing Cap - first you need to get 10 Stars, then a ray of light will appear at the entrance inside the Castle. Walk under the light and then look up at it to be transported to the Bonus Stage. Collect the 8 Red Coins for a Secret Star and then Ground Pound (A+Z) the Red ! To unlock the Wing Cap in every Level.

To get the Blue, Vanish Cap - once you've beaten Bowser the first time, head to the basement, unlock the door, follow the dark corridor to the right and enter the door. Go right, continue down the corridor and make the first right to a door without a Star - enter it, get in the water and swim under the wall to another room. Here, you'll find 2 pedestals to Ground Pound (A+Z) and drain the water - next, head through the door to be outside the Castle in the moat, make a right and follow the path to a hole. Jump down it, get through the area and find the Blue ! To unlock the Vanish Cap in every Level.

To get the Green, Metal Cap - you'll have to do Hazy Maze believe it or not. Down by that Sea Monster is a door in the wall at the far end - ride the Sea Monster over to the door, go through that door and jump into the Metallic Paining. Collect the 8 Red Coins for a Secret Star and then Ground Pound (A+Z) the Green ! To unlock the Metal Cap in every Level.

8 Red Coins – Bowser in the Dark World
#1: There is a purple ! Switch that you when you hit will create a bridge near the start of the level that leads to a Red Coin.
#2: There is a machine that shoots fire - when there is no fire, grab the Red Coin.
#3: There is a platform with crystals on it - the Red Coin is behind one of them.
#4: There is an area with two yellow bridges that move in and out of a wall – above the second one is a Red Coin.
#5: There are some square platforms that circle around each other, just stand near the edge and wait for it to take you to the Red Coin.
#6: There is a wooden bridge that leads away from the main path – follow it to an island with some Goombas and a Red Coin.
#7: There is a Red Coin in an alcove near the two teeter-totter platforms.
#8: There is a Red Coin on a platform above the second teeter-totter, get to the Warp Pipe and Long Jump to it.

8 Red Coins – Bowser in the Fire Sea
#1: There is a Red Coin on the section of grating, floating above a hole after you get past the sinking platforms.
#2: There is a Red Coin on the platforms that wobble from side to side. #3: There is a Red Coin in the multicoloured room in the back corner after you climb to the top of the pole.
#4: There is an elevator after #3, step on it and then quickly get off to find the Red Coin beneath.
#5: There is a Red Coin in the area with the overhead grating - climb up the steep hill, destroy the Bully and take it.
#6: There are rising and falling platforms - you will be able to see the shadow of the Red Coin, so stay there until the platform goes to it's peak, then jump to get it.
#7: There is a Red Coin close to the fire in the area with the last set of sinking platforms.
#8: There is a pole near the end that goes up and down - get on it to find the Red Coin.

8 Red Coins – Bowser in the Sky
#1: There is a large box near the beginning, push it all the way back to where you started – get on it and jump to grab the Red Coin.
#2: There is a Piranha Plant later on guarding a Red Coin.
#3: There is an unstable bridge that you can drop to an area below with a Red Coin on it.
#4: There is a purple ! Switch to hit and at the top of the stairs is a Red Coin.
#5: There is a moving arrow platform that you'll have to jump over a bunch of things on, one of which will earn you a Red Coin.
#6: There is a Red Coin on a spinning platform with one of those black balls that shoot fire.
#7: There is a pole near the end of the level – you'll find this Red Coin at the top of it.
#8: There is a Red Coin underneath the stairs that lead up to the Warp Pipe.

I am sure that you have noticed the pillars while liding down the nred slide.... Well, go at full speed all the way down the slide until you reach the last pillar then go to the side and jump. Sometimes you miss and have to start all over and it gets very annoying after a while. But it's kinda kool just standing on a pillar on the side of a slide where you arent supposed to be.

This is just a random hint to do when you are bored.

Go on the red slide on the first floor...keep on sliding down until you reach a small falt area....press 'b' very quickly to do a flip that helps you get up on your feet....when on your feet jump backwards when you reach the slope you will slide a little everytime you jump backwards...but don't worry keep on jumping until you reach the beginning again..and the funny thing is..thew time keeps on going...now, I don't know how high the time can go....so thats up to you to find out. :)

Go to the mansion in big boo's haunt go upstairs and go to the door at the very right. There is a ledge jump on it and double jump from wall to wall until you see a platform go in the room walk out another door and there you go wasn't that easy!

In wet dry world, instead of launching yourself at the sun, fire at the top-left corner. Go as far as the cannon will allow. You will hit the wall, fall back in the cannon, and WOW! No health lost.

Warning: do not ride if pregnant or suffering back/neck injuries.

If you want to switch lives when your teammate or you run out of lives push start and press it again and you will have a life.

Your teamate must have 2 or more lives to do this!

I need help with one thing.. Whats a gameshark?? Where do you get them? What do they do?

Once you get all 120 Stars...
- You'll be able to jump in that Cannon outside the Castle by the Pond; shoot yourself to the Roof to meet an old friend.
- Also, when you race the Penguin in Cool, Cool, Mountain from now on, he'll be fatter and harder to beat.

If you find a tree you'll notice how he climbs. If you get to the top of the tree, keep going up. He will look like he is humping the tree.

Catch the bunny downstairs.

In the room you get to after beating bowser 2 ( the winding staircase )
Angle a triple jump at the top left corner of the first column.

You should jump through the floor!

( takes practice sometimes. )

On slip slidin away when your going down the slide you will see a line of coins going into the wall follow them into the wall and it will bring you to a tunnel with 3-4 extra lives

Never belive them. You CANT play as Luigi. Well.... In Super Mario 64 DS you can.

To get the star out of whompchomps gate jump on the log where the red coin is until the log goes down then go in the gate to get the star.

Go to the first stage. (Bob-omb battlefield)

Now go to where the chomp is but not to close.

There should be a bob-omb grab it from behind go over kinda close to it and throw the bomb right in it's mouth.He should fly up in the air but still be on his leash.

He`ll land on the wooden pole then go to the pole and wait till he attacks.

He`ll attack the air above you.

While the chomp can`t attack you for a moment.Jump on the pole as fast as you can and smash.

Repeat this process until you let him loose.That`s an easier way to get the sixth star.

I also think it's fun blasting the chomp like that.

What's up?
If you ever wondered how to get the last red coin in the 3rd Bowser course, well, now you can! What you have to do is get at the very top, you know, where the warp pipe is. If you turn the view around a few times, you will see the coin under the stairs. Just walk down the stairs and jump on the little ledge where the coin is. Then the star will appear behing the warp pipe!

To get to a parallel dimension the only thing you have to do is this:

First you must be able to go to the castle's ceiling there is a red block that will give you the flying caps there you must go to the part on top of peach's picture there you jump three times and instantly turn left or right (it really doesn't matter).keep going left until you reach the next part of the ceiling there the only thing you have to do is crash into the castle walls and eventually you are going to traspass it. Then voala, your in a parallel dimension. To get out go through the door and crash into the wall and you'll be in the castle

P.S.sorry if it sounds complicated I tried to make it sound the easier as possible

After you drain the water, go to the bottom of the place where the water used to be. Look by the water fall and you should see a hole. Go in it and beat it. Then you should have a vanish cap

When you face Bowser in the Dark World you only ahve to hurt him once.
When you face him in the Fire World you need to hurt him twice.
When you have him in the Sky World you need to hurt him three times. It gets a bit harder every time as he learns new moves too.

Go outside and jump off the bridge and you should find a little hole you can go in.

You can go into the clock level by jumping in the clock.

Mushrooms are just extra lifes.

If you get the other rabbit you can get another star.

You start out in the lobby of the castle right, go up the stairs.

Go in the doorway that is indented in the wall look 4 something that is not reflected off the mirrors and do a high jump into it, the room will then flood.

If Mario is low on health just jump in a body of water and his health will go back to full.

At The start of whomps fortress, jump on the tree and do a handstand and an owl will come out, then he'll ask you if you want to have a ride, but don't ride him for too long, he'll drop you, and you might land somewhere out of the fortress and you will lose a life.

Okay. People say they wonder about yoshi on the roof, and things like what the red 3-d "F" in the wall is.

Yoshi really is on the roof, but only after you have 120 stars. If you jump up onto the roof using either of the two methods, he will not be there.

The red 3-D "F": This is not a letter at all. What you are seeing is the doors that you fall through to get to "bowser in the dark world".
Since they open up into the darkness in the walls, you can see the back there.

If you want to prove this, enter "bowser in the dark world and then get killed. Now, the doors will be open.

Now go to the room with "cool, cool, mountain", and look behind the wall. The "F" will not be there anymore, and instead will be a red rectangle. Facing downward. In the same position and place the doors are.

Things that say you can get five extra stars after the 120 are all fake. I have all 120 stars, and it is firmly proven that you can get no more than 120. Also, things that say you can see luigi are obviously all fake.

Just to make sure, I even tested every stupid sounding cheat on this page.

By the way nothing happens after you get all 120 stars, except that Yoshi is on the roof, the cannon opens, and after you talk to yoshi, there are suttle differences in the game.

Well, now that thats cleared, G'day!

Here are all of the secret castle stars in and around the castle.

First of all, in each level there are only six stars to find right? WRONG!!!

When you get 100 coins in each level, a star will instantly appear above...! Mario's head.
Also, on each of the levels where you unlock the caps,and on all of the bowser levels, there is 8 red coins. collecting all of them will make a star appear near the switch.
aside from these stars, there are also some specific places to find stars:
1. In the main room that you first enter when you start the game, up the stairs and to the right there is a door. If you go through the door, you will be in a room with 3 identical stain glass windows, like in churches. You can jump through the window on the right. Inside there is a slide. When you get to the bottom, in a box there is a star.
2. If you go down the slide that I just metioned in less than 21 seconds, you'll get another star.
3. If you go into the room with the picture of the sunken ship, on the wall to the right there is a small black square. You can double-jump into the square and enter the secret aquarium. Collect the 8 red coins to get a secret star.
4. down in the basement, there is a rabbit that is very small and very fast. If you grab him with the B button, he will give you a star.
5. Later on, after you've gained some more stars, the rabbit will return and give you yet another star if you can catch him again.
6. In the basement, In the room where you enter the underground level, one of the princess's servants is standing in a corner of the room all by himself. If you talk to him, he will give you a star.
7. Up on the second floor, in the main hall there are 2 servants of the princess. Just look around for them. One of them will give you a star when you talk to him.

I'm not sure if this works but it happened to my friend.

He was on shifting sand land trying to get all the red coins, so he had the wing cap on.

The bird came down at him and he did a flip in the water.

Of course it didn't look like he had lost his hat because of the wing cap.

But when the cap fadded away he still had his hat!!

Shortcut thru the stairs. When you enter the castle go straight ahead and up the stairs and open the nearest door that has a key hole. Go through the door and go to the wall on the left side. Jump until Mario grabs the wall. Pull yourself up and you will be near the door at the top.

In the course Cool Cool Mountain, there's a slide go in it. There's a short cut.

There's a row of coins that are slanted. Follow the coins. You will end up in a tunnel. There is two 1ups in the tunnel.

In the Shifting Sand Land, there are pillars that in any case can get up and is also a requirement to get a star.

To climb the pillars with ease, just stand facing the pillar and use the crawl method. It will automatically send you up the pillar.
