Lanky is in the one building with Donkey Kong's barrel blast infrount of it. Complete it and you can open the door by shooting the coconut switch above the door. Then what you need to do is either activate a switch, use the drums on the pad, or get a banana in a barrel (can't remember which). When you do, the lama will spit and will make it safe to swim in the water. Then open the gate under the water and you can dive under through the opened gate and release Lanky.
