lanky slide (orangestand) help

Here are some different jumps that might help you. Jump and then press b button to make the jump longer, hold the z button and then jump, also make lanky do a hand stand thing, get a running start, then jump (maybe add the b button with that to). If none of them work, then you may have to buy something from Cranky to help him jump further. Also, look for a way or a different way.

@rangerman, that was a terrible answer. While those jumps do make you jump further, A+B and Z+A don't work on the slide. Also why on earth would you think Cranky could help? He's got already got everything at this point besides super duper simian slam. It's just when you jump that determines whether you make the lava jump. I can't finish the race either, although I have made that first jump once or twice. I've been looking for any advice on when to press A that will make it easier. There's got to be some kind of trick. If you guys hear anything, let me know.

I know this is really old, but I saw it on google so chances are other people may also and actually need help for the lava jumps. Just hold forward; don't press A. The jump is automatic. (But hope you're not going too slow)

For anybody looking at this game years later. You are faster than the turtle both sliding and running. So don't worry about trying to pass right away. Just focus on coins until after the first lava jump. A good place to pass him is right after the start of the second sprint section. When the path splits after the second jump, the turtle always goes the same way. You always want to take the opposite side for coins. Also, there are more than 50 coins. You can miss several, and still have enough to skip all of the ones in the last sprint.
