Unable to visit certain sim towns because of an update issue
Before, I never had this problem, but now I can't visit certain other sim towns or get access to the most recent event goals. Why is this happening? I have the most recent update for the app and everything

If the game save you are trying to access was made before you applied a major update to your game you will not be able to access it until THEY update their save file AFTER updating their game. It is not you mate, it is them.
