Question for The Sims FreePlay
Whenever I interact with a sim, the bar moves but once they've finished interacting, it goes back to where it started. Is there something wrong with the game or is it just me?

There is definitely something wrong with your game if it instantly goes back to the same place. Wait and see if an update fixes this issue. An update should fix it so just wait for one to come out.
