How do I add the stairs in my home for the sims free play?

First, you must complete certain Goals

To be honest, you can only use stairs if you've unlocked them. When you got the update you would have also recieve a new range of Quests that you could see by pressing an icon at the edhe of you screen. There is about 8-10 quests you need to complete before inlocking stairs, these quests are fairly easy and don't take long to do. Once you have completed these quests you get a new set of quests to unlock fire poles and then another set of quests that unlock elivators and esxcilators (not sure if any of those is spelt right!). But you can't use stairs untill you have completed the Goals, if you have completed the quests try contacting the creaters at ea, they might be able to help better than I can.

You Must B Level 10 or higher To you lock To Upstairs Quest.After Doing a quest that says complete the first six Woodwork Options thingy They will tell you add an upstairs.It will cost 220 cc.(Construction-O-Coins)!Then To add stairs you can get a cheap one for 10 cc or expensive one.Hope it helps.(HINT)AFTER COMPLETING YOUR UPSTAIRS RENOVATION YOU WILL BE ASKED TO SPEN 10,000 ON YOUR UPSTAIRS ROOM!!!

Make your upstairs addition bigger than the stairs because the stairs have to fit into the upstairs space. I also removed all the furniture because I couldnt get my stairs in, either! Also, BE on first floor to add the stairs, with the white box indicating where the upstairs room is.

It's easy just go to the furniture store click on the house button in the corner

I can't get it to work, every time I try to do it it never works, I made an extra room for it...

You have to build the upstairs floor first.
