To recieve free lifestyle points and money in the game, you must complete Goals. You can also recieve money if you have a dog... When the little shovel bubble appears above a dog, click on it and you may earn either money, or lifestyle points. You can also collect revenue on The Town Map from the properties you built.

Another way to get LP is by going to the in-app store, clicking on the blue button in the top left corner and checking out what offers are up there.
