I think you mean if you don't want to send them to work but don't want constant reminders that they have to go to work either. To do that simply send them to work. Then click on them from the sim tracker. It message will pop up about he long they have left to work. There will be an x beside it, and you can cancel it like any other action. The sim will return to their house and there will not be an option to send them back to work until the next day.
