Whenever I go to my home screen of the IPad the Sims are kicked out of their actions. So I can't leave them gardening/baking while I'm outside of the application. Does anyone know how to fix this??

Make sure you are always coonected to wifi or 3G for Internet. Also check you're settings for the app, the push notifications, that kinda stuff. If all is ok and you still have a problem you may need to reinstall the app.

This is a glitch and I made piles of money when it happened to me. Grow lots of vegtables, keep switching houses and growing. The veggies that take hours to grow, grow in seconds. Once your Sim is really low on health, you need to wait on the screen while he/she showers, eats, sleeps, etc. . Once the Sim has full health, you can leave the screen and it will be normal again. I wish I knew how to get this glitch again. I don't know what I did but I got lots of money.

It is definitely a glitch in the system. The same thing happened to me, twice. The first time my game crashed after I amassed about 200000 simleons and I lost everything (my balance went back to what it was before the glitch started) that I had gained during the glitch. The second time I amassed about 70000 and decided to close and restart the application myself but the same thing happened, it went back to the old balance before the glitch started. So far I have not been able to retain my 'ill-gotten gains' unlike the above post, so if the same thing happens again to me a third time I think I will just close and restart the app. No point accumulating so much cash and not being able to retain it.

This has just happened to me too! So frustrating, I can't make any progress. They will complete actions while I'm looking at them, but as soon as I leave the house they stop whatever they're doing. I'm not making any money from it. They won't even stay at work if I leave the app. It started when I renovated one of the houses, although I don't know if that had anything to do with it. Renovations all gone after leaving the app. In fact everything reverts to the state it was before this issue started if I leave the app, so it doesn't even matter that they complete actions. I've killed the app and shut down the ipad, still the same. GRRRR!!

Well I fixed it! It occurred to me that just before the problem started I had built a new house, it had completed, but I hadn't added a sim to it yet. So I added a sim to the new house and presto, the game works again! Obviously a bad bug.
