That all depends on how you develop your own personal Springfield and how many Buildings, roads and rivers you are planning. There's an infinite number of land available, so you can buy 1000 across if you feel like it and have the Money. Personally, mine is 10 across and 8 deep (I'm on level 24), but that's just one of many options.

It's your Springfield so you can make it as big or as small as you like. You don't need to decide now, you can add land and rearrange your properties as you go.
