Push/pull the cannon to aim it in the direction you want it to fire. Put the metal ball in the front. Drop a bomb where the fuse goes. The metal ball can destroy the large ice enemies, as well as any other ice obstacles.
Sometimes, you need to transfer a metal ball from another area. To do this, you need to place a metal ball on one of the metal see-saw contraptions on a wall, then go to the other side and pull the lever. This will transfer the ball to the other side.
