After you have beaten the Water Temple as an adult you can go to Lake Hylia and see that it is now full of water. Go across the bridges around the lake until you come to a little island with a big tree on it. You will notice a little stone rectangle on the ground that is engraved with a message. It says something along the lines of "when water fills this lake aim/shoot for the morning sun". Meaning stand there and when you see the sun begin to rise behind that stone shoot an arrow at the sun. When you shoot the arrow at the right moment a cutscene will happen and well you'll see.
