I found this out about a week ago... In wish cave and purity forset the kecleons knoe psywave, killing you far away... BUT in other dungeons like fiery field, southern cavern, etc, he doesnt... So just bring a pass scarf ( I love pass scarves) he wont be able to touch you. But you can't recruit him because you wont have a friend bow, thats the bad part hahaha.... OK (sort of) enjoy :P

There is a way! I found this out by myself, I have never looked up cheats and stuff on this game on any other website. To do this is by press and holding the "L" button.
