I have a lvl one hundred Zapdos that knows detect and rest! If your in a bad place at low health like a monster house, use detect to protect yourself, then heal with rest! If your stomach is empty, you can rest when ever your health is low. Its even better when you have max elixers! If your facing a legendary, use detect. You'll use your turn protecting yourself, and they will use their turn moving forward or using a weather move or status move. I bet a lot of other Pokemon can learn the same combo with protect and rest or protect and recover or detect and recover. Hope this helped!
