3. Tom Clancy's The Division

There seems to be a new Tom Clancy game nearly as often as the Call of Duty games are released, and for good reason. As a business franchise, Tom Clancy games are gold. Each seemingly more fun than the last (I still remember how much fun I had in the coop campaign for Splinter Cell Conviction). In this installment, the game takes place in mid-crisis Manhattan, an open world environment with the best type of physics in a video game, allowing you to destroy the scenery, which always comes in handy when people ask you why you enjoy the game so much. A government appointed agency known as “The Division” is deployed to subdue the damage and chaos created in the wake of a New York City small pox pandemic. The player's mission is to investigate the source of the virus while endeavoring to stay alive and fend off enemies. Various storyline missions tie an intricate plot together that unfolds revealing more of the big picture with each mission. Additionally, there is open world PVP that is somewhat skill-based, as it is a shooter, although players are able to earn experience points through their ventures, much like that of a role-playing game.
