8. Gears of War 4

Gears of War is another incredibly successful franchise that players are able to identify with. There was a time where you could not walk into a shopping mall without one of the “Hot Topic” kids walking by with a chainsaw gun necklace every few moments. These games had a cult following. This installment definitely carries the sci-fi torch, taking place 25 years after the Imulsion Counterweapon destroyed all Imulsion on the planet Sera. With this, the use of fossil fuels has been eradicated as well and humanity is forced to adopt new ways to survive. Gameplay is similar to previous installments, many actions having been carried over, such as taking cover to avoid damage and actively reloading. There is a new Combat Knife feature that allows for melee attacks and new executions. The game is set to be released this upcoming October.
