1. Chibi-Robo

What better way to round out this list of oddities than with another odd game? Chibi-Robo is the very definition of an obscure classic: Extremely unique and largely unnoticed by the general public. In Chibi-Robo, you are just that, a chibi robot that has just been bought by a family for their daughter's birthday.

The family, unfortunately, is a bit dysfunctional: The girl only 'ribbits' like a frog, failing to use any words to convey her feelings; the father is unemployed and rather discouraged from finding a new job; the mother is to the point of frustration and on the verge of hating her family for the troubles they cause. It's up to you to trying to simply bring a little happiness to this family, and by doing so you'll garner points to rank up amongst the other Chibi-Robos. When you get enough points, you'll get to become a Super Chibi-Robo, which seems like as good of a reason as any to spread good cheer.

As the Chibi-Robo, you'll pick up trash and clean up dirt, talk to the family and try to help them with their problems, and talk to some apparently sentient toys during the night to obtain new powers and costumes. It's a whimsical adventure, where even failure results in little more than a bit of lost time and an adorable robot wrapped in bandages. If there is one game to pick up for the GameCube to enjoy, it's certainly Chibi-Robo.
