Top 10 Video Game Weapons of All Time
8) IW-80 A2 (SOCOM II)
SOCOM II was one of the first console shooters played competitively and the IW-80 A2 was pretty much the best assault rifle in the game. It had good damage, range, and a really high rate of fire. There was barely any recoil on this gun either allowing you to literally shoot enemies at great distances on full auto with pinpoint precision. The gun was so powerful in fact, that it was quickly banned in most Gamebattles matches. Teams would put a note on their match saying something along the lines of “no IW80.” It didn’t end there. Custom lobbies had a rule that you weren’t allowed to use it or you would risk getting voted off. At the very least, you would be called a “noob” for using this weapon because it was supposedly “too good.” Ah the good ol’ days of when people could make their own game lobbies before matchmaking systems ruined any sense of online community.
I'm also glad Doom's BFG9000 made to the list too! Sorry for forgetting one of most important weapons ever...
I'm glad Duke3D's Shrink Ray made to the list! It's my favorite weapon ever created.

The P90 in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Attach a silencer to the gun, 50 bullets of unbridled death. On wetwork you could tap fire it across the full length of the map from one end to the other, it had incredibly accuracy from the hip and was steady and solid aimed down the iron sights.
That gun was unrivalled and would often see me get over 30 kills a game in Team Deathmatch alone.
