Shelf of Mystery
In the player's room, to the top right there's an area with a shelf exactly five spaces/steps/units long, enough for, I don't know, five trophies? Sounds familiar... Anyone want to enlighten me?

I don't think that shelf is for anything. I believe it's just there for decoration.
I didn't know for sure, so I did some research. However, I couldn't find anything. I guess it's just there to be there.

It is for when you complete the pokedex. One fore each part of kalos (3) the full kalos dex (1) and the natonal dex (1) that makes five

I completed all of those pokedexes but I didn't get any award that goes on my shelf. All I got was the Oval Charm and the Shiny Charm, which go in your bags.Michael answered:
After doing much research, I actually found out what this "Shelf of Mystery" is for. The Director of GameFreak can be found in the Hotel in Coumarine City. If you show him your Pokedex, he will give you a Certificate for every section of the Pokedex you complete. He will give you one certificate for each of the following completed Pokedex: Central Kalos Pokedex Section, Coastal Kalos Pokedex Section, Mountain Kalos Pokedex Section, Kalos Pokedex, and National Pokedex. After receiving these certificates, you can can find or view them on the shelf in your room.
