Trek to Yomi Cheats, Tips Strategy

Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include why you should wear headphones and why it is important that you explore all the branch-offs of the main story. As well as these hints and tips, we also have a Beginners Guide here which goes into more details on some of the tips we have below:

Use Headphones

The visuals that are used in Trek to Yomi pay homage to the classic samurai films and to respect the retro vibe there is a lot of echoing and static to convey poor film quality to give the impression the game came out in the early 1990s. It is therefore recommended that you use headphones in order to hear easier the subtle audio clues that will guide you toward hidden paths.

Explore Everywhere

In Trek to Yomi there are several branch-offs of the main story that you can take, and it is recommended that you go through all of them. The reason why you should not neglect these paths is that they lead to useful things, such as collectibles, jugs that will increase your health, and Stamina. They may also enable you to gain some new combos and find ammo for your ranged weapons.

Use Collectibles to Track your Progress

The collectibles that you find in Trek to Yomi are found in a specific order throughout the story. This means they can be used to track how far into a level you are. It also enables you to see if there are any collectibles you missed along the way. Take a look at our Collectibles/Upgrades Guide to find out everything you need to know about them.

Be Defensive in Battles

If you just blindly attack enemies during battle you will quickly run out of Stamina. It is far better to approach battles defensively, this means guarding until the enemy attacks first and then countering them. The best tactic is to time your guard so that it parries the enemy attack and leaves a bigger opening which will enable you to exploit and kill many enemies before they are able to recover.

Use your Ranged Weapons

There are three different types of ranged weapons that you can collect as you progress in Trek to Yomi and each of them has a different level of strength and speed. The Bow and Ozutsu can deal plenty of damage if you are at a distance while the Bo-Shurikens are quick and can be used to create an opening to attack with your sword. You will be able to find plenty of ammo for these ranged weapons so do make sure you take advantage of them whenever possible. Ammo can be found at various checkpoints and branch-offs where you will also be able to find items to increase your max capacity for them.
