All the sections are complete but I might improve things and maybe add new
sections in later updates.

           B. Introduction [INON]
[[===========================================================================]]

This is my first FAQ/Guide/Walkthrough of any kind so I hope all goes well.

This is a guide for Bioshock, my most favourite game of all time. This guide is
based on the original release of Bioshock for the Xbox 360. It has a total of
50 Achievements with a total of 1000 Gamerpoints. I guess you could also use
this guide if you're playing on the PC.

This guide does contain !SPOILERS! so if you're looking for a !SPOILER! free
guide, this is not the guide for you. You have been warned.

I wrote this guide with the intent of presenting my way, to you, of completing
the game in one playthrough. When I say "completing", I mean finding all the
Audio Diaries, Gene Tonics, Power to the People machines and getting every
single Achievement in the game in one playthrough. Check the Walkthrough
section to see how this is done. This guide is based on the Hard difficulty but
if you don't want to go for the Achievement that finishing the game on Hard
offers you can play on an easier difficulty. However, the game would probably
feel to easy if you use my methods for Hard on a lower difficulty.

This FAQ covers basic Game Information you need to know in order to play the
game, provides Hints, Tips and Notes to help you while you're playing the game,
provides a complete Walkthrough of how to do everything in the game in one
playthrough, provides an Achievement Guide, checklists with locations for all
Audio Diaries, Gene Tonics and Power to the People Machine, and contains
everything you need to know about Inventing and Researching.

I strongly suggest you read all the sections of this guide prior to using the
Walkthrough to maximise the effectiveness of this guide.

I hope this guide helps you and you enjoy using it as much as I enjoyed
writing it and playing Bioshock.

           C. Bioshock Game Information [BGNI]
[[===========================================================================]]

I'm Andrew Ryan and I'm here to ask you a question:
Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?

No, says the man in Washington. It belongs to the poor.
No, says the man in the Vatican. It belongs to God.
No, says the man in Moscow. It belongs to everyone.

I rejected those answers. Instead I chose something
different. I chose the impossible. I chose...

RAPTURE.

A city where the artist would not fear the censor. Where the scientist
would not be bound by petty morality. Where the great would not
be constrained by the small. And with the sweat of your brow,
Rapture can become your city as well.

[[===========================================================================]]

In this section you will find everything you need to know about Bioshock to be
able to play it. I strongly suggest reading this section before starting the
game unless of course you are familiar with it.

[[======== 1. Controls ===============================[COLS]=================]]

In order to play the game you need to know how to control your character so
here is a brief description of what each Button does.

Left Analogue Stick: Use this stick to move around. Click to crouch.

Right Analogue Stick: Use this stick to look around. Click to zoom weapon.

X Button: Press to reload your weapons/Use EVE Hypo when equipped Plasmid.

Y Button: Press to Jump.

B Button: Press to use the First Aid Kits you have found.

A Button: Press to interact with objects. Hold to replay Audio Diary.

D-Pad: Use to change the type of Ammo your weapon is using.

Left Button: Press to switch Plasmid, hold to activate Selection Radial.

Left Trigger: Pull to use your current Plasmid.

Right Button: Press to switch weapon, hold to activate Selection Radial.

Right Trigger: Pull to use your current weapon.

START: Press to open up the Pause Menu.

BACK: Press to open up the Status Menu.

[[======== 2. Weapons ================================[WENS]=================]]

Like in any other FPS Bioshock has weapons you use to shoot bad guys with. As
you advance through the game you will find new and more powerful weapons. To
fire your weapon pull the Right Trigger.
[[===========================================================================]]

Ammo

Each weapon has 3 different ammo types: 1 standard type and 2 special types
like electrical and explosive. You can find all 3 types lying around Rapture
but you can also buy or invent them at different machines like the Ammo Bandito
and the U-Invent. Use the D-Pad to change ammo types on your current weapon.
[[===========================================================================]]

Weapon Switching

To cycle through your weapons press the Right Button. If you hold RB the game
will pause and a Selection Radial of all the weapons you have will be brought
up on screen. Use an Analogue Stick to select the weapon you desire and then
release RB.
[[===========================================================================]]

Weapon Upgrading

To upgrade a weapon you have to find and use a Power to the People machine.
Each machine can only be used once to upgrade 1 weapon. The machine closes
forever once you use it but at least it's free. You can upgrade each weapon
twice.
[[===========================================================================]]

Below is a list of all the different weapons you find in Rapture and the types
of ammo they use. You will also find out in which way each weapon can be
upgraded with the exception of the Wrench and Research Camera because they
can't be upgraded.

Wrench: There is nothing better than a simple, reliable Wrench. It's your
standard melee Weapon, you get it near the start of the game and carry it to
the end.

Pistol: This is the second weapon you acquire, very useful at the beginning
of the game but becomes practically useless later on in the game. Quite good
for headshots.
Ammo: Pistol Rounds
      Armor-piercing Pistol Rounds
      Antipersonnel Pistol Rounds
Upgrades: Pistol Clip Size Increase
          Pistol Damage Increase

Machine Gun: This is the third weapon you collect and is quite useful near
the start but just like the Pistol becomes quite useless later on in the game
because it's very hard to aim it. However, it's pretty good for firing at
long range targets.
Ammo: Machine Gun Rounds
      Antipersonnel Auto Rounds
      Armor-piercing Auto Rounds
Upgrades: Machine Gun Damage Increase
          Machine Gun Kickback Reduction

Shotgun: This is the fourth weapon you find and one of my favourite. Deadly
at close range but useless at middle and long range. Sometimes it's hard to
actually hit a target with it though and it becomes considerably less powerful
later on in the game.
Ammo: 00 Buck
      Electric Buck
      Exploding Buck
Upgrades: Shotgun Rate of Fire Increase
          Shotgun Damage Increase

Grenade Launcher: This is the fifth weapon you get in the game. Very, very
powerful and useful, especially against Big Daddies. It looses it's
effectiveness against Splicers later on in the game though.
Ammo: Frag Grenades
      Proximity Mines
      Heat-seeking RPGs
Upgrades: Grenade Launcher Damage Increase
          Grenade Launcher Damage Immunity

Research Camera: It's not really a weapon but you use it like one. You use
it to snap pictures of enemies and Security Systems to research them.
Ammo: Film

Chemical Thrower: This is the sixth actual weapon you find and is extremely
powerful. You should use it all the time and it remains powerful throughout
the game. Extremely useful against Big Daddies.
Ammo: Napalm
      Liquid Nitrogen
      Electric Gel
Upgrades: Chemical Thrower Consumption Rate Decrease
          Chemical Thrower Range Increase

Crossbow: This is the eight weapon you get and also the last. It's deadly in
the right hands. It's hard to hit moving targets with it but if you do it's
pretty much always a one hit kill. Later on in the game it looses a bit of
power but maintains it if you are a good shot and aim for the head it's still
a one hit kill weapon.
Ammo: Steel Bolts
      Incendiary Bolts
      Trap Bolts
Upgrades: Crossbow Breakage Chance Decrease
          Crossbow Damage Increase

[[======== 3. Plasmids ===============================[PLDS]=================]]

Unlike in other FPS games as you advance through Rapture you will find, be
awarded and buy Plasmids with ADAM from Gatherer's Garden machines. Plasmids
are like powers in an RPG like fire, ice etc. To use a Plasmid pull the Left
Trigger.
[[===========================================================================]]

EVE

You need EVE to use your Plasmids, without EVE your Plasmids are useless. To
refill you EVE you need EVE Hypos. You use them a lot like First Aid Kits.
You acquire EVE Hypos by searching around Rapture and buying them from Vending
Machines. Some types of Food and Drink will also restore your EVE a little.
[[===========================================================================]]

Plasmid Switching

To cycle through your Plasmids press the Left Button. If you hold LB the game
will pause and a Selection Radial of all the Plasmids you have will be brought
up on screen. Use an Analogue Stick to select the Plasmid you desire and then
release LB. You can only have six Plasmids equipped at a time.
[[===========================================================================]]

Plasmid Slots

When you start the game you have 2 free Plasmid Slots into which you equip
Plasmids. To be able to carry more Plasmids you need more Plasmid Slots which
you get by purchasing them with ADAM at Gatherer's Garden machines.
[[===========================================================================]]

Below is a list of all the different Plasmids you can find and buy with ADAM
from Gatherer's Garden machines in Rapture.

Electro Bolt: This is the first Plasmid you find, you are forced to get it to
proceed through the story. It's also the best and most useful Plasmid. Later
on you can buy 2, more powerful versions of this Plasmid. Electro Bolt shocks
enemies with electricity temporarily stunning them and damages enemies while
they are standing in water.
Rating: 10/10

Incinerate: This is the second Plasmid you find, you are forced to get it to
proceed through the story. Quite useful in my opinion. Later on you can buy 2,
more powerful versions of this Plasmid. Incinerate puts your enemies on fire
burning them. You can also light puddles of oil with it to increase it's
effectiveness.
Rating: 8/10

Telekinesis: This is the third Plasmid you find, you are forced to get it to
proceed through the story. Useful if you make a habit of using it. There is
only 1 version of this Plasmid. Telekinesis pulls objects towards you which
you can then choose to drop or fire somewhere or at someone.
Rating: 9/10

Security Bullseye: You get this Plasmid for free. I found it completely
useless. There is only 1 version of this Plasmid. Throw it at an enemy and if
a nearby Security Camera spots the enemy Security Bots will appear and shoot
that enemy.
Rating: 3/10

Enrage: You get this Plasmid by buying it with ADAM at a Gatherer's Garden
machine. I think this Plasmid can be quite useful if you make a habit of using
it. There is only 1 version of this Plasmid. Throw it at an enemy and the
enemy will attack other enemies. If there are no other enemies around the
enemy you fired the Plasmid at, the enemy will just attack you.
Rating: 5/10

Hypnotise Big Daddy: You get this Plasmid as a reward from Tenenbaum for
saving Little Sisters. Rarely does the opportunity arise for you to use this
Plasmid in an effective fashion. There is only 1, more powerful version of
this Plasmid you get buy continuing to save Little Sisters for Tenenbaum
which increases the duration of the Plasmid's effect.
Rating: 6/10

Target Dummy: You get this Plasmid by buying it with ADAM at a Gatherer's
Garden machine. I don't even bother using this Plasmid. There is only 1
version of this Plasmid. You set a decoy of yourself and enemies attack it
until they see you. Good for sneaking past enemies.
Rating: 2/10

Insect Swarm: You get this Plasmid by buying it with ADAM at a Gatherer's
Garden machine. This is the most useless Plasmid in my opinion. Later on you
can buy 2, more powerful versions of this Plasmid. All it does is momentarily
distract enemies that you fire the Killer Hornets at while dealing minimum
damage.
Rating: 1/10

Winter Blast: You get this Plasmid by buying it with ADAM at a Gatherer's
Garden machine. This is quite a useful Plasmid, the only problem is that the
Chemical Thrower can do the exact same thing rendering this Plasmid useless.
Later on you can buy 2, more powerful versions of this Plasmid. When you fire
it at an enemy it freezes them momentarily letting you destroy them.
Rating: 7/10

Cyclone: You get this Plasmid by buying it with ADAM at a Gatherer's
Garden machine. This Plasmid would have been more useful if it caused more
damage and was easier to use. Later on you can buy 1, more powerful version
of this Plasmid. You set it on the ground as a trap and when an enemy steps
on it, they get shot up into the air by a cyclone and sometimes hit the
ceiling and then the floor. Ouch.
Rating: 4/10

[[======== 4. Adam ===================================[MADA]=================]]

As Andrew Ryan stated, Rapture is a place where scientists were not bound by
petty morality, so it was natural that scientific breakthroughs would be made.
The canopy of those breakthroughs was ADAM. ADAM is created by a kind of sea
slug when it attaches itself to a living organism, the sea slug creates new
cells healing the organism. These new cells allow the organism to apply other
genetic modifications that form a new cell structure. This way people could
change their appearance as well as heal themselves. These genetic modifications
where later created for aggressive purposes and where in the form of Plasmids
and Gene Tonics.

[[======== 5. Gene Tonics ============================[GECS]=================]]

There are many Gene Tonics for you to choose from. There are 3 kinds of them:
Physical Gene Tonics, Engineering Gene Tonics and Combat Gene Tonics.
[[===========================================================================]]

Combat Gene Tonics

Combat Gene Tonics improve your strength, reflexes and generally your combat
skills. These Gene Tonics can boost the power you swing your Wrench with and
improve how effective you are with elemental attacks like electricity, ice,
fire etc. Good examples of Combat Gene Tonics are Wrench Lurker and Human
Inferno.
[[===========================================================================]]

Physical Gene Tonics

Physical Gene Tonics improve your natural abilities like speed to super human
levels. These Gene Tonics can enhance your tolerance of alcohol and boost your
resistance to certain types of damage. Good examples of Physical Gene Tonics
are Sport Boost and Natural Camouflage.
[[===========================================================================]]

Engineering Gene Tonics

Engineering Gene Tonics improve your intelligence and handiness. These Gene
Tonics can boost your hacking skills and let you bypass Rapture's Security
Systems. Good examples of Engineering Gene Tonics are Safecracker and
Security Expert.

[[======== 6. Character Growth =======================[CHTH]=================]]

ADAM and the Little Sisters

In order to be able to "splice" continually new Gene Tonics and Plasmids into
your genetic makeup you need ADAM, the lifeblood of the great city of Rapture.
To survive in Rapture you need as many Plasmids and Gene Tonics in your
genetic system as possible, but you need ADAM in order to do so and it can
only be found in the bodies of the Little Sisters now. The Little Sisters
carry big syringes which they use to drain blood from corpses which they than
drink to recycle the ADAM while the Big Daddies watch over them.

The only way you're getting to a Little Sister and all that tasty ADAM is if
you kill the Big Daddy protecting her. If you manage to defeat the Big Daddy
you get to choose how to deal with the Little Sister. You can either Rescue
or Harvest a Little Sister. By rescuing a Little Sister you eliminate the
parasite inside of her turning her back into a normal girl. You also get some
ADAM by doing this. If you choose the alternative: harvesting the Little
Sister, you will remove the parasite from the girls body and ingest it killing
the little girl in the process. You get double the ADAM though. It's a hard
choice you will have to make.

If you do not collect ADAM from the Little Sisters the game will become
extremely difficult later on. However, you can always go back to a previous
level and do so.

When you acquire some ADAM you can spend it at a Gatherer's Garden machine
for new Plasmids, Gene Tonics and Health and EVE upgrades.
[[===========================================================================]]

Researching Rapture's Inhabitants

The police force of Rapture used special Research Cameras to find out what
genetic enhancements the inhabitants of Rapture had spliced. You will come
across such a camera while you explore Rapture which you can use to research
the inhabitants of Rapture. You take pictures of enemies and Security Systems
and when the Research Camera learns something about an enemy or Security
System you get new rewards like Gene Tonics and damage bonuses.

The Research Camera is a very valuable resource that will help you survive in
the city of Rapture.

[[======== 7. Rapture ================================[RUTP]=================]]

Population of Rapture

The remaining citizens of Rapture have been transformed into horrid monsters
by genetic modification. There is hardly anything human left in them and they
barely remember their former lives.

Below is a list of all the different enemies you will encounter while you
explore Rapture. They are divided into 2 categories: Splicers and Little
Sisters and Big Daddies.
[[---------------------------------------------------------------------------]]

Splicers

They are the former citizens of Rapture, they have gone crazy from excessive
use of Plasmids and Gene Tonics and have turned into aggressive and grotesque
creatures. They dislike anybody they don't know and will attack you on sight.

Below is a list of the 5 different variations of Splicers you come across. The
order I mention in which you find the Splicers is according to my Walkthrough.

Thuggish Splicer: This is the first kind of Splicer you come across and is also
the most weak and common kind. These Splicers use melee weapons exclusively.
You will encounter different kinds of this Splicer later on in the game like
electric ones.

Leadhead Splicer: This is the second kind of Splicer you come across and is
quite weak at the start of the game but becomes the most powerful and hard to
kill later on in the game. They use Pistols at the start of the game and use
Machine Guns later on in the game. You will encounter different kinds of this
Splicer later on in the game like electric ones.

Nitro Splicer: This is the third Splicer you come across and is always rather
hard to kill. They throw Frag Grenades and Molotov Cocktails at you. Also if
you get close enough to them they will throw a Smoke Grenade to the floor and
try to run away far enough in order to start throwing grenades at you again.

Spider Splicer: This is the fourth kind of Splicer you come across and are
difficult to kill because of their constant acrobatics and wall crawling. On
the ground they jump at you in an attempt to slice you with their hooks. And
while they are crawling on the ceiling they throw their hooks at you.

Houdini Splicer: This is the last kind of Splicer you come across and are
hard to kill because they constantly teleport (which makes me think: what ever
happened to that teleportation Plasmid demonstrated in that Bioshock demo) and
throw fire balls at you. Later on in the game you might come across an ice kind
of Houdini Splicer that fires ice balls at you.
[[---------------------------------------------------------------------------]]

Little Sisters and Big Daddies

In addition to the Spliced-up citizens mentioned above there are little girls
that wonder the sinking halls of Rapture. These little girls are called Little
Sisters and carry large needles. The Little Sisters are constantly followed by
their protectors, the Big Daddies. These diving suit-wearing creatures protect
the Little Sisters. If you want the ADAM the Little Sisters have, you need to
kill their Big Daddy protector in order to get to the Little Sisters which is
a challenging prospect. There are 2 types of Big Daddy: The Bouncer and the
Rosie.

Bouncer Big Daddy: This guy does not have any long range weapons but he will
stomp the ground and you will get kind of shell-shocked and move really slowly.
Then he will try to hit you by charging at you. Will melee you if you get
close.

Rosie Big Daddy: This guy shoots at you with his Rivet Gun and throws Proximity
Mines to get you from out of cover. Will melee you if you get close.

In addition to the regular Big Daddies, later on in the game you will face
Elite versions of the Big Daddies. They are tougher to kill and deal more
damage. Cosmetically they are a little different from the regular Big Daddies
in that their diving suit is a little different and some parts of it are
coloured a deep red and white.
[[===========================================================================]]

Exploration

If you want to survive in the city of Rapture you need to search in all sorts
of storage containers and corpses for the resources you need to do so.
[[---------------------------------------------------------------------------]]

Items

Some of the most important items you need to survive are EVE Hypos and First
Aid Kits. You can find these items lying around in Rapture but you can also
buy these and other important items like ammo with the money you find around
the city.

Below is a list of 3 such items which can be found as well as bought.

First Aid Kit: Partially restores your Health.

Eve Hypo: Completely restores your EVE.

Automatic Hack Tool: Instantly hacks any hack able machine. Single use.
[[---------------------------------------------------------------------------]]

Audio Diaries

You can find these all over Rapture. These are audio messages recorded by the
citizens of Rapture for themselves and others. You will have to find some of
these in order to advance through the story. Most of these Audio Diaries
however, tell back story of the different characters of Rapture as well as hint
at story elements and secrets. Very interesting.
[[===========================================================================]]

Security

There is a number of Security Systems in Rapture.
[[---------------------------------------------------------------------------]]

Automated Turrets

These Automated Turrets are stationed throughout Rapture and are hostile to
intruders. However, you can hack these Turrets and they will become friendly
and shoot at your enemies. Before trying to hack them though you have to
temporarily disable them. Many Gene Tonics and Plasmids have been created in
order to bypass the Security Systems of Rapture.
[[---------------------------------------------------------------------------]]

Security Cameras

These Security Cameras are placed throughout Rapture. Like the Automated
Turrets, Security Cameras are constantly looking for intruders. If a Security
Camera sees you, you will hear a warning sound that alerts you of that fact.
If you stay in it's sight long enough it will identify you and send Security
Bots continually after you until the alarm timer runs out.

[[======== 8. Machines ===============================[MAES]=================]]

There are many machines you can find in Rapture that provide resources and
services that you need to survive.
[[===========================================================================]]

Vending Machine

Vending Machines provide First Aid Kits, EVE Hypos, Film, basic Ammo and other
valuable resources you need to survive in Rapture. You can also hack the
Vending Machines to get lower prices on the items and in some instances
unlock things so you can buy them.
[[===========================================================================]]

Ammo Bandito

These Vending Machines only provide Ammo.

[[===========================================================================]]

U-Invent

You find all sorts of different junk around Rapture and U-Invent machines let
you make new items out of it. You can create a few Gene Tonics at these
machines as well as Ammo and Automatic Hack Tools. Some of the Gene Tonics you
can only acquire from these machines.
[[===========================================================================]]

Gatherer's Garden

You can buy new Gene Tonics and Plasmids as well as Health and EVE upgrades
from these machines using ADAM. You can also buy more Gene Tonic and Plasmid
slots to be able to equip more Plasmids and Gene Tonics.
[[===========================================================================]]

Gene Bank

These machines store all of your unequipped Plasmids and Gene Tonics. You also
use these machines to switch the Plasmids and Gene Tonics you have equipped.
[[===========================================================================]]

Health Station

You use these stations to restore your Health completely, but it costs you
money. You can also hack these stations and if an enemy tries to use it its
Health will be damaged, plus you get a discount. If you destroy these
machines they will drop a couple of First Aid Kits and cease to function.
[[===========================================================================]]

Power to the People Weapon Upgrade Station

These machines upgrade your weapons. Each machine only gives one upgrade
before it closes down permanently, so choose wisely. The good thing is that the
upgrades are free.
[[===========================================================================]]

Bot Shutdown Panel

If you trigger an alarm you can use these panels to switch of the security
bots for a price. You can then choose to hack the shut-down Security Bots
and they will follow you around attacking anything that attacks you.
[[===========================================================================]]

Vita-Chamber

If you get killed you are instantly revived in the Vita-Chamber closest to
the location of your death. In each area there are a couple of these.

[[======== 9. Hacking ================================[GNIK]=================]]

The people of Rapture eventually figured out how to Hack the different machines
that populate it. These people figured out how to change the circuit flow of
machines to change the state of the machines. You can Hack almost any machine
in Rapture from Vending Machines and Safes to Automated Turrets that turn
friendly when you do. To Hack a machine approach it and if an X appears on
screen it means you can Hack it by pressing the X button. You can then decide
if you want to Hack normally, Buyout the machine or use an Automatic Hack Tool.
[[===========================================================================]]

How Do I Hack?

To Hack you need to direct the circuit flow to the exit tile. To do this you
need to uncover the tiles and then switch and swap then so that you make one
continuous pipe that goes from the Start tile to the Exit tile. Also the
circuit flow is constant so you need to hurry up. There are also Alarm
tiles that will sound an alarm if you hit them and Overload tiles that will
hurt you if the circuit flow hits them.

If Hacking becomes to hard for you, you can purchase a variety of new
Engineering Gene Tonics with ADAM that will improve your Hacking skills.
[[===========================================================================]]

Hacking Buyout

If you can't be bothered to Hack normally you can Hack machines by paying
some money. The cost depends on the difficulty of the Hack. There are also

progressed on your current goal the Hints will change to accommodate that. A
simpler and quicker way of accessing the Hints is by holding right on the
D-Pad.
[[===========================================================================]]

Adaptive Training

Bioshock is a feature filled game and you can easily forget about some of
them. This system will remind you of features you may be forgetting because
you're not using them. This can become quite annoying at times so if it
irritates you, you can turn it of in the Options Menu that you access by
pressing the START button.
[[===========================================================================]]

What Is This?

While Playing Bioshock if you come across an item that you would like to find
out more about, approach it and a small "What Is This" message will appear on
screen. Then hold the BACK button and you will receive information about that
item. If you want to access this information again in the future press the
BACK button which will open up Status Menu, then press left on the D-Pad until
you reach the Help slide.

[[======== 11. Status Menu ===========================[STNU]=================]]

To open up the Status Menu press the BACK button. There are a few slides in
Status Menu which can be switched by using the D-Pad or LB and RB.

Below is an explanation of each one of these 4 slides.
[[===========================================================================]]

           D. Hints, Tips and Notes [HAPS]
[[===========================================================================]]

Below are a few useful Hints, Tips and Notes that you should follow as you play
through Bioshock
[[===========================================================================]]

1. The code to the room in Twilight Fields in the Medical Pavilion is 0451.

2. The code to the gate where Timmy H. was tortured in Neptune's Bounty is
   5380.

3. The code to room "7" in the Fighting McDonagh in Neptune's Bounty is 7533.

4. The code to Langford's Wall Safe in Langford's Office in Arcadia is 9457.

5. The code to the locked room in the Market in the Farmer's Market is 0512.

6. The code to Kyburz's Office in the Lower Workshops in Hephaestus is 0126.

   7774.

8. The code to the Elevator in Mercury Suites in Olympus Heights is 5744.

9. The code to the room in Failsafe Armored Escorts in Point Prometheus is
    1921.

10. When researching enemies zap them with the Electro Bolt first, then take
   pictures of them.

11. Whenever you trigger an alarm and Security Bots come after you make sure you
    research them.

12. Make sure that you always have a lot of Film for your Research Camera.

13. You can't take pictures of friendly Security Systems.

14. Save often, Rapture is a dangerous and unpredictable place.

15. Hack everything you can for the first 2 levels to get the Skilled Hacker
    Achievement quickly.

16. Don't horde your cash, use it at Vending Machines to buy resources like EVE
Hypos that you're running out of.

17. Save your Automatic Hack Tools for Safes because they are the hardest
    things to hack.

18. Always search enemy corpses after you kill them.

19. Whenever you enter a new room or area always scour every corner and little
    nook and cranny for items.

20. Aim for the head, you will do more damage.

21. Don't break the glass outside of stores in Fort Frolic, you will trigger an
    alarm.

22. Hack every Safe you come across, they always contain valuable loot.

23. From Arcadia and on don't forget to search every corpse and container for
    junk to make items from.

24. When you receive a gift from Tenenbaum in a Teddy Bear a Little Sister
delivers it, you can research this Little Sister if you're quick.

25. When you kill a Big Daddy don't wonder away from the Little Sister because
    she will run away.

26. Don't forget to search Big Daddies after you kill them, they always give
    you good loot.

27. Do not waste the Electric Gel for the Chemical Thrower, save it for the
    Big Daddies.

28. Exploding Buck is actually more effective against Big Daddies than Electric
Buck but it does not stun them like Electric Buck does.

29. Before advancing to a new level always check that you have dealt with every
    Little Sister in the level.

30. Before taking a picture of a Big Daddy agitate him by getting close to the
Little Sister, he will start warning you off, that's when you should take a
picture. You get an Action Shot and more research.

31. To get into the Storage Basement in Fort Frolic you need to go into
Sinclair Spirits and use the Switch behind the counter, then go down
through the door, use the Power to the People machine and turn around.
There will be a Splicer in front of you. You MUST kill it.

32. If you can't seem to find a Steel or Incendiary Bolt after you fire it try
    using Telekinesis.

33. When you get to Hephaestus try to kill and search as many Splicers as
possible because they often have Bee Enzyme on them which you need to
    invent new Gene Tonics.

34. Try not get hit by an enemy when you are standing next to Big Daddies
because you're Static Discharge will hit them too causing them to kill you.

[[===========================================================================]]
           E. Walkthrough [WAGH]
[[===========================================================================]]

In this section I will guide you through the game. If you follow my
instructions you will find all the Power to the People machines, Gene Tonics
and Audio Diaries, Save every Little Sister and get all of the Achievements.
Additionally I will tell you what to spend your ADAM on, which Gene Tonics to
equip and which Plasmids to use. If you follow my instructions on what to buy
and when, by the games conclusion you will have made the most of your ADAM and
be very powerful indeed. This Walkthrough is based on the Hard difficulty.

At the beginning of each level there is the number of Audio Diaries in each
level, Power to the People Stations, number of Little Sisters in each level and
the locations you find Big Daddies in. If you do not find a Big Daddy at one of
the locations just go to another location. If the Big Daddy does not have a
Little Sister with him then he is on his way to get one, so just follow him.

Also as you find Gene Tonics, Audio Diaries, Power to the People Stations,
research enemies and Security Systems and invent items you might want to use
the checklists below the Walkthrough section to mark things you have found and
done.

One more thing, when I point out a new Gene Tonic or Audio Diary even if I do
not directly tell you to pick it up, obviously do pick it up. For example if I
say: "In the corner here is an Audio Diary." that means that you have to pick
it up.

So let's begin this amazing game.

[[======== 1. The Crash Site ==========================[TCSE]================]]

1960
Mid-Atlantic

The game starts with you on a plane, you say that you were born for great
things and then the BIOSHOCK logo comes up while you hear the plane go down.
Then you're underwater and struggling to surface, once you do you get to
actually control the character.

Swim straight ahead until more fire spews from the left blocking your way, so
turn to the right and you will see the airplane's tail sinking and a black
lighthouse. Approach the lighthouse, go up the stairs and enter the huge double
doors on your left. The door closes behind you, once the lights switch on look
up to see a huge statue of Andrew Ryan and a red banner in front of him, "No
Gods Or Kings. Only Man." Sounds like my kind of place.

Go down the stairs and you will find a bathysphere, enter it and press A on the
Bathysphere Lever to activate it. The bathysphere submerges and you watch a
short film in which Andrew Ryan tells you why he decided to build Rapture. Then
Rapture is revealed and you flow into the city. Just in case you did not notice
when you're entering the city the rings say "All good things of this Earth flow
into the city."

[[======== 2. Welcome to Rapture... Medical Pavilion =[WRMP]=================]]

Audio Diaries: 19

Little Sisters: 2
[[===========================================================================]]

You come up out of the water in the bathysphere and witness a guy get murdered
by a Spider Splicer. Then the Splicer jumps on top of the bathysphere and cuts
it up. Atlas tells you to pick up the Radio, so look to your left and press A
on it to pick it up. He then tells you through your new Radio that he will help
you get to higher ground.

New Goal: Get to higher ground.

Step out of the bathysphere and continue up the stairs and then to the left
until you see the Splicer again, once it gets attacked by the Security Bot you
can jump over the pillar blocking your way by pressing Y. Go up to the rubble
in front of you and pick up the Wrench near the tool box. Crouch by clicking
the left analogue stick and break the rubble with your Wrench by pulling the
right trigger. Dodge the sofa and go up the stairs.

Once you come up, there is a Thuggish Splicer waiting for you here. The best
advice I can give is to strafe to dodge him as he swings. Don't circle-strafe,
that will get you hit, just strafe left or right and then hit him back. Once
he's dead press A to search his body for goodies, you will get a First Aid Kit
and an EVE Hypo. From now on always search fallen enemies for items. Use the
First Aid Kit if you need to buy pressing B, there are also snacks on a table
and in the Trash Can if you need them.

Go up to the second floor and to the left is a Trash Can with an EVE Hypo. Now
pick the Electro Bolt Plasmid from the Gatherer's Garden machine. Watch the
cut scene. You now have your first Plasmid : Electro Bolt, it's easily the most
useful Plasmid in the game. Zap the broken Door Control with your new Plasmid
by pulling the left trigger. Go into the tunnel and the airplane's tail comes
crashing into the tunnel, go through the plane and continue along the tunnel
and you will reach another room.

Now would you kindly turn left and go down some stairs to grab some Potato
Chips from the couch and then an EVE Hypo next to a corpse. Search the corpse
and go back up the stairs to see a Splicer run by. Atlas tells you to use the
1-2 punch combo: zap them with the Electro Bolt and then hit them with the
Wrench, preferably in the head. Once you kill the Thuggish Splicer search him
and go down to the other side of the room where you will find another EVE Hypo
on a mattress. See how we just gathered all the loot in this room? Make sure
you do this in every single new room and area from now on. I will still point
out really good loot though.

Go to the other hatch now and a Splicer will come out, use the 1-2 punch. Go up
the stairs and an elevator will come crashing down with a flaming Splicer, use
the 1-2 punch on him too. Make sure you use this tactic all the time from now
on as it's very helpful. Go into the elevator room and enter the lift on the
left. Atlas tells you that he wants you to help him get to his family in
Neptune's Bounty.

New Goal: Go to Neptune's Bounty.

Turn left, whack the Splicer, and grab the Revolver from the cradle.
Congratulations, you found your first fire arm. From now on you should use the
1-2 punch with the Revolver instead of the Wrench, once you zap a Splicer get
nice and close to it and shoot it in the head.

Enter Kashmir Restaurant and look to the left for a sign that says "Dancing
Downstairs" by some stairs. You will see a Splicer knocking on a door, kill him
and another Splicer comes out of the door: a Leadhead Splicer, these Splicers
are harder to kill because they use guns. Kill her too and enter the kitchen,
loot the place and go outside to see 2 Splicers in the water. Atlas tells you
to zap enemies in the water. Do so and you will unlock your first Achievement:
Toaster in the Tub. To the right of the huge statue holding the globe in the
water is your first Audio Diary on a table: [Diane McClintock] New Year's Eve
Alone. Press A to pick it up and hold A to listen to it. If you want to listen
to it again hold A or press BACK to go to the Status Menu and do it from there.

Go back upstairs and into the bathrooms, go into the Dame's one which is on the
right, watch the ghost and then pick up the Audio Diary at the end of the
bathroom: [Steve Barker] Hole In The Wall. As you exit a Splicer jumps out of a
cubicle and attacks you, so be careful. Go into the Gent's bathroom now and
into the hole in the wall. Go across the metal support and then down the stairs
while Atlas explains what the Little Sisters do. Then watch the Big Daddy
"protect" the Little Sister.

Break the Lock with your Wrench and continue along until you see 2 Splicers
looting a Big Daddy corpse in the water. Zap them and loot the Big Daddy for a
lot of cash. Jump down now and head to the right towards an exit, the gate
closes and a Turret comes up from behind the gate so step away. Then Splicers
attack you, zap them as they jump into the water, also one Splicer comes from
the toilets so be careful. Then Atlas tells you that Andrew Ryan ambushed you
and you need to head to Medical.

New Goal: Head to Medical.

Go into the entrance on the left now, enter the little room and listen to Ryan
while Atlas tries to override the exit. Then Splicers try to break through the
glass and Atlas opens the hatch. Go in and through to Medical Pavilion.

Achievement Unlocked: Completed Welcome. Atlas tells you to go to Emergency
Access.

New Goal: Use Emergency Access Route.

Turn left and you will see 2 staircases going up, between them is a counter,
go to it and pick up an Audio Diary from it: [Diane McClintock] Released Today.
Turn around and go to the door with the "Emergency Access" sign. Hack the
Security Bot stuck between the doors for 2 Achievements: One Successful Hack
and Hacked a Security Bot. The Security Bot will now protect you. Then hack the
Vending Machine to the left of the door for the Hacked a Vending Machine
Achievement. To get the Skilled Hacker Achievement you need to perform 50
hacks, that's why for the first 2 levels I will remind you to do so.

Now use the Vending Machine to buy resources you need like First Aid Kits, EVE
Hypos and ammo. Then enter Emergency Access and there will be a desk in the
corner as you enter. Go up to it and take the Audio Diary: [Steinman] Adam's
Changes. Now go upstairs and use the Emergency Access Control. Access Denied.
Now Atlas tells you that you need to get the Emergency Access Key from Steinman.

New Goal: Get the key from Steinman.

Turn around and go into the newly opened door, head left through the corridor
and grab the Machine Gun by the Electrical Override Switch. Press the switch
to open the gate into the Medical Pavilion.

Goal Completed: Get into the Medical Pavilion.

Now quickly run back through the corridor and down the stairs of the Emergency
Access and prepare to maw down many Splicers with your Machine Gun. Then enter
the Foyer to kill more Splicers on the Stairs. Then go up the stairs and into
the Medical Pavilion. Go through the corridor, watch the ghost and then press
the switch to the right of the door to open it.

In front of you is a bloody bed and to the right of it on the wall is an Audio
Diary: [Steinman] Higher Expectations, so take it. Behind this wall is a
Turret, so go and hack it. Don't forget to zap it with Electro Bolt first
though. Achievement Unlocked: Hacked a Turret. Now turn around and you will see
a counter under the "Is Your Family Protected?" sign, go up to the counter and
grab another Audio Diary: [Andrew Ryan] Parasite Expectations. Then turn right
to see a wall with a hole in it, behind that wall is another Turret, so go and
hack that too. Now go back to the first Turret and look at it, turn left and
you should see a well lit wall a little to the right with bloody writing, go up
to it and you will see an Audio Diary on the wall under the writing: [Steinman]
Limits of Imagination. Turn around and go left to the small area that's behind
the wall of the first Turret, there is a Health Station here, hack it. Then
turn right and you will see an Audio Diary on a trunk: [Tenenbaum] Love For
Science.

Turn left out of this small area and then turn right into a small area past the
second Turret with a Vending Machine and an Ammo Bandito, hack them both and
grab the Audio Diary on the chair beside the Vending Machine: [Andrew Ryan]
Vandalism. Leave this area and turn right and then left and you will see a
Health Station in a small alcove opposite the hatch that's between 2 staircases
going down, this door also leads to the Surgery, hack it. To the right you
should see the entrance to the Eternal Flame Crematorium, go there and you will
see a Splicer get blown up by a Nitro Splicer. There are some green plants here
to the left, there is Electric Buck in them so take it.

As soon as you enter the Eternal Flame Crematorium turn left to see a picture
on a stand, walk up to it and grab the Audio Diary hanging from it: [Steinman]
Surgery's Picasso. Go further into the crematorium and you will see a Security
Camera, zap it and then hack it for the Hacked a Security Camera Achievement.
Turn around and go to the left to see a corpse on a tray, press the Furnace
Control button and the corpse will go into the furnace and come out your first
Physical Gene Tonic: Hacker's Delight. Pick it up and equip it in your first
slot.

Go up the stairs to your right and you will see a door to the left, to the left
of the door is a crawlspace, crawl through, grab the Incinerate Plasmid and
equip it in your second slot. Splicers will surround you so light up the oil
puddle near the crawlspace. Wait for the flames to die and get out of the
crematorium.

Once you come out of this area look to your right to see some ice blocking a
door, use your new Plasmid on the ice and enter Twilight Fields. As you enter
turn right and then right again to see a Splicer crying, kill her and go up to
the table to see a code: 0451. Turn around and you will see a door with a
Keypad, so enter the code and go in to get some goodies. Exit this room and
turn right to go into the other side area and you will get attacked by a
Splicer from behind some coffins. Kill the Splicer and go behind the coffins, a
door on the other side of the room will open revealing a Turret and a Wall
Safe, zap the Turret and hack it. Then hack the Wall Safe with the Automatic
Hack Tool you got from the Keypad room for the Hacked a Safe Achievement. From
now on always save your Automatic Hack Tools for safes because they are the
hardest things to hack.

Now go into the centre door of the Twilight Fields and turn left into the
water, walk a little and turn right to exit the water and you will see an
Engineering Gene Tonic on a cabinet: Security Expert. Pick it up and equip it
in the first slot.

Get out of Twilight Fields and you will see some stairs to the left, go down
them, in front of you in the ice is an Audio Diary: [McDonagh] Freezing Pipes.
Pick it up and then turn right to see a Vending Machine, hack it. To the right
of that is a door with a broken Door Control, zap it and enter, loot the room
and be sure to get the Automatic Hack Tool from the table. Now get out and melt
the ice, walk forward and then turn left to enter Kure-All.

As soon as you enter look to your right for a Turret and hack it. Go out and go
into the door on the right, once you enter look to the left for a grate
covering a crawlspace, hit the grate and enter the crawlspace. Once your in the
room after the tunnel grab the Combat Gene Tonic: Wrench Jockey from the
cabinet and equip it in your first slot. Get out and look to your left for a
bloody bed with an Audio Diary on the floor next to it: [Suchong] Enrage Trial.
Grab it but be careful of the Security Camera on the right. Once you get the
Audio Diary go and hack the Security Camera, then hack the Wall Safe under the
camera with the Automatic Hack Tool. Exit this area.

Move forward and through the archway with the open gate and turn left towards
Dandy Dental. Just outside the door to Dandy Dental is an Audio Diary on the
floor: [Tenenbaum] Useless Experiments. Look to the right of the door and you
will see a Health Station in a small alcove, hack it. Now enter Dandy Dental
and go through the door here, then go down into the water and look to the left
for a Wall Safe, hack it. Now go into the glass door here and in front of you
is an Audio Diary leaning against the Ball Launcher Switch: [Suchong] Testing
Telekinesis. Turn left and get the Telekinesis Plasmid from the Gatherer's
Garden machine for free. Equip Telekinesis instead of Incinerate. You can now
practise your throwing skills by pressing the Ball Launcher Switch and you can
pull the trophies towards you for items. You can also drop items you have
pulled in by pressing X. Get out of here.

Go left as you exit Dandy Dental and keep to the left until you reach some
water, turn left again to see some windows, look through the windows to see a
Turret, get in and hack the Turret. The Turret is on a counter and under the
counter is more Electric Buck. Next press the Door Control here to open the
door that leads to the main area and then go into the next room in Painless
Dental. Look to the left to see a desk with an Audio Diary on it and a Gene
Tonic too. Pick up the Audio Diary: [Suchong] Plasmids Are The Paint. Then pick
up the Engineering Gene Tonic: Speedy Hacker and equip it in the second slot.
To your right there is a grate, hit it and enter the crawlspace, you will see
a Splicer sitting in a chair and behind her a red gas tank. Shoot the tank for
ultimate carnage. There is an Automatic Hack Tool here and more Electric Buck.
Press the Door Control button to get out and turn left again to go to the
water.

This time round turn right to find a locked door with a switch. There is a
broken window here, use your Telekinesis Plasmid to pull the Chompers Dental
Office Key towards you and take it. You can now press the button and enter this
area, to the left is a Security Camera, hack it. Now enter the door on the left
and loot the room. Then enter the next room and watch out for the Security
Camera. After you hack the camera, hack the Wall Safe under it with the
Automatic Hack Tool. Turn around and take more Electric Buck from the small
table. Get out of here.

Go to the centre of this area now where there is some rubble and a corpse with
scissors sticking out of it's head. Grab the Shotgun by the corpse and get
ready for a fight. The only advice I can give you is to constantly circle-
strafe so that you're always moving and looking around. And use the Shotgun,
but not the Electric Buck, we need that. And reload whenever you have a chance.

Now that you have the Shotgun it will be your best friend for much of the game.
So now use the 1-2 punch with the Shotgun instead of the Revolver and it will
be an instant kill almost every time if you get real close and aim for the head
after zapping your enemy.

Now go back upstairs and into the hatch that leads into a tunnel that leads to
the Surgery Foyer. You can see a Big Daddy and a Little Sister in the tunnel to
the left from the tunnel you are in. Once you get to the Surgery Foyer and see
Steinman, he blows up a sign that blocks your way and runs away.

New Goal: Destroy the debris.

A Nitro Splicer turns up on the balcony on the right and starts throwing
grenades at you, catch one with Telekinesis and throw it at the rubble to clear
your way.

Goal Completed: Destroy the debris.

Then give the Nitro Splicer a taste of his own medicine. Once that's done hack
the Vending Machine here as well as the Health Station. Now go through the
entrance and you will see a woman in a wheelchair with an Audio Diary hanging
on the wall beside her: [Steinman] Symmetry. Pick it up and approach the gate
on the left, Steinman will send a Security Bot after you, zap it then hack it.
Now enter the corridor, zap the Turret here and hack it. Turn around and go
back to the beginning of this corridor where there is water and you will find a
Combat Gene Tonic: Static Discharge. Take it and equip it in the second slot.

Now enter the room on the left and watch out for the Security Camera. Hack it
and then hack the Safe under it. In the middle of this room is a bed and next
to it is a cabinet with an Audio Diary on top of it: [Steinman] Aphrodite
Walking. Pick it up and get out of here.

Turn left as you exit that room and then left again to see a Health Station
near the door to the "Viewing Rooms", hack it and go through the door. You will
see a large window, get close and you will see Steinman butcher a lady. Then he
says that you're ugly and because we don't take insults like that we kill him.
To make life easier use Antipersonnel rounds for the Revolver and Machine Gun
if you have them and use Telekinesis to throw stuff at him. Remember, short
controlled bursts with the Machine Gun are better than going crazy and holding
the trigger down. The Shotgun also works well if you can get close enough but
don't use Electric Buck. Once Steinman is dead you get the Defeated Dr.
Steinman Achievement. Search his body for the Emergency Access Key.

Goal Completed: Get the key from Steinman.

Atlas tells you to go back to Emergency Access.

Goal Updated: Open the Emergency Access.

Now go up to the table where Steinman killed the girl and search her for an
Audio Diary: [Steinman] Not What She Wanted. Now go down the stairs here and
into the water and find the Health Station, hack it. Then find the Safe on the
table and hack it too. Go to the corridor with the Turret and you will get
attacked by Splicers, your Turret should take care of them.

Head to the tunnel, once you get in, it will start to collapse so take the door
on the left, you will see a Big Daddy get killed. What killed him though is a
mystery to me. Walk forward and a cut scene starts. Watch the cut scene. Atlas
tells you to kill the Little Sister in order to get as much ADAM as possible
and make surviving in Rapture easier while Tenenbaum tells you to save them
instead and that she will "make it worth your while" if you do. There is also a
"The Great Will Not Be Constrained By The Small" banner here which is a nice
touch. Go up to the Little Sister and save the game. Then rescue her by
pressing Y, if you want to see what harvesting her looks like than load the
game and press X instead. But we are going to be saving the Little Sisters. So
press Y to rescue her and you will get 80 ADAM, the Little Sister thanks you
and so does Tenenbaum. Then Atlas tells you that Tenenbaum is playing you and
that you should find a Gatherer's Garden machine to buy some upgrades.

Turn to the left and walk up to the red curtains and they will open revealing
a Gatherer's Garden machine. The last Audio Diary in this level is right
in front of the machine on the floor: [Steinman] Gatherer Vulnerability. Now
use the Gatherer's Garden and buy a Health Upgrade, nothing else. Head to
Emergency Access and you will meet a Big Daddy with a Little Sister on the way.
Atlas tells you that it won't be easy but you're ready to take on a Big Daddy,
so let's do it. Save the game.

Switch to Electric Buck on your Shotgun, Armor-piercing Rounds on your Revolver
and Machine Gun Rounds on your Machine Gun unless of course you have Armor-
piercing Auto Rounds somehow. Get nice and close to the Big Daddy, unload a
Shotgun round into him and run to where your 2 Turrets are. He should start
killing them so keep on shooting him in the back. Don't forget to use your
First Aid Kits. You probably won't survive if you're playing on Hard and will
be revived at a Vita-Chamber so just run back to him and finish him of. Once
he's dead rescue the Little Sister by pressing Y and loot his corpse for lots
of cash. Go back to the Gatherer's Garden in the Lounge and buy an EVE Upgrade,
we will get the Gene Tonics later.

Now go to Emergency Access and you will get attacked by a Nitro Splicer, use
Telekinesis to throw his grenades right back at him and go up to the second
floor. Use the Emergency Access Control.

Goal Completed: Open the Emergency Access.

Now press BACK to go to the Status Menu, go to the Messages tab and make sure
that you have collected 19 Audio Diaries in Welcome to Rapture... Medical
Pavilion. If for some reason you have not, check the Audio Diary Locations
section under the Walkthrough section to find out which ones you missed and go
find them.

Jump over the control and go through the gate to the bathysphere and press A to
activate the Bathysphere Lever. Then press A again on Neptune's Bounty and we
have finished the level.

[[======== 3. Neptune's Bounty... Smuggler's Hideout =[NBSH]=================]]

Power to the People Stations: 1

Audio Diaries: 22

Little Sisters: 3

Big Daddy Locations:
1. Neptune's Bounty, Lower Wharf.
2. Neptune's Bounty, Upper Wharf.
3. Neptune's Bounty, Fighting McDonagh.
[[===========================================================================]]

Get out of the bathysphere and go up the stairs, Atlas tells you that his
family is hidden in the foundation of Fontaine Fisheries and that he will meet
you there.

New Goal: Go to Fontaine Fisheries.

Pass the corpse on the wall and you will see a Gene Bank and next to it a
Vending Machine, hack it. I suggest saving your cash from now on because we
will need it later. Continue through the passages until you reach a corridor
with a Health Station in an alcove on the left, hack it. Go through the door
into the Lower Wharf and ignore the Big Daddy, we will not be killing any Big
Daddies yet. Do not kill any Big Daddies before I tell you to. Walk forward and
then jump down into the mud, turn around and you will see a Turret under the
floor, hack it. Now go into the centre of this area where the little pond is
and you will see a Physical Gene Tonic: Medical Expert in the mud. Take it and
equip it in your second slot. Move forwards and then go under the floor again
to find and hack another Turret. Behind this Turret and a little to the left is
an Audio Diary sticking out of the mud: [Sullivan] Bathysphere Keys.

Get out from under the floor and go up the metal ramp, make a U-turn, go over
the bridge type thing and look to the right for a hatch. As soon as you enter
look down through the metal grating and walk forwards a little to see an Audio
Diary in the mud under the floor, we will get this later. Turn right to see a
Gene Bank and then turn to the left and look over the ledge to see a Turret
firing RPGs, catch them with your Telekinesis Plasmid and throw them at the
Splicers here. Then hack the Turret. Then hack the Vending Machine to the
left of the Turret, now go back up to the Gene Bank and this time turn right to
see another ledge, jump down behind the big red metal thing into the water,
there is a Security Camera here so hack it, you will also find a corpse and a
Security Bot down here so hack it too. Now jump down into the water to get out
of this place and go to your RPG Turret. Don't bother exploring the tunnel down
here yet.

Jump over the Turret and enter the hatch with the big "Fontaine Fisheries"
sign, you will see a corpse, behind it is a Health Station, hack it. Then press
A to knock on the Fontaine Fisheries' Entrance. Peach Wilkins says that if you
find him a Research Camera he will let you in. You then get attacked by a
Spider Splicer which you can't kill, so just fend it of until Peach sends a
Security Bot after it. Don't waste your ammo. Now look at the conveyer belt to
the right of the Fontaine Fisheries' Entrance and get the Grenade Launcher.

New Goal: Find the Research Camera.

Peach says that he wants you to take pictures of Spider Splicers and that if he
"smells an ounce of Fontaine on you he will have you in a box." Then Atlas says
that Fontaine has been dead for a long time and there is nothing to worry
about, except his family.

Go back up to the Gene Bank and then into the newly blown up gate and you will
see some Splicers fighting, kill them. Now right before the stairs that lead to
the Upper Wharf there is a small alcove on the right with some broken grating,
go down and follow the tunnel to an Audio Diary: [Andrew Ryan] Fontaine Must
Go. Take it, get out of the tunnel and go up the stairs, enter the hatch and
gather the loot on the floor, especially the Proximity Mines. Then exit through
the other hatch, as soon as you come out, walk forwards and you will see a
table with fish guts on it and an Audio Diary: [Tenenbaum] Finding The Sea
Slug.

Now turn left and you will see a big red metal thing and you should also see a
Little Sister harvesting from a corpse on the floor, you need to get to that
corpse and search it for another Audio Diary but first go to the end of this
room and on the left you will see an RPG Turret, hack it. Now go back to the
corpse and search it for the Audio Diary: [Sullivan] Picked Up Timmy H. Now on
the wall close to where the corpse is, is a Little Sister vent and right under
it on the floor is another Audio Diary: [Marishka Lutz] Masha Come Home.

Now go back to the end of the room to find a locked gate, break the Lock and
look to your left to see an Audio Diary standing against a Crate to the left of
a Vending Machine: [Andrew Ryan] Watch Fontaine. Before you take it look up the
stairs to your right to see a Security Camera, destroy it with some Armor-
piercing Rounds because it's to high up to hack, then grab the Audio Diary and
hack the Vending Machine next to it. Go up 2 flights of stairs and look for a
Security Camera on the left, hack it. There is some sheet metal standing
against a wall here and behind it are many Frag Grenades. Go up the last set of
stairs and you will come to the WharfMaster's Office. Break the Lock and enter
this area, turn right and hack the Turret there, then hack the Turret to the
left, there is a hole in the wall here with some Proximity Mines and First Aid
Kits. To the right of this Turret are 2 more Turrets and a Security Camera,
hack them all.

To the left of the last Turret or the first Turret you see when you come into
the WharfMaster's Office is a door and to the left of it a crawlspace, enter it
and hack the Security Camera inside, you will need to jump to reach it and
quickly press X. You will also find an Audio Diary on a table in this room:
[Sullivan] Have My Badge. And close to the table a Safe, so hack it. Go back
outside and into the middle of this room you will find a Big Daddy corpse with
lots of cash. Now break open the Lock on the other gate here and crawl under
the hole in the wall, continue and enter the "Interrogation Room."

Grab the Security Camera from the table in this room.

New Goal: Photograph 3 Spider Splicers.

There are many Leadhead and Nitro Splicers on this level so by the end of it
you should finish the research for them.

The first Spider Splicer is through the window here, wait for him to start
knocking on the window and stand back, when the Research Camera's reticule
starts spinning it means you can get a picture of the highest quality which is
A. Save the game. So take an A quality research photo of this Spider Splicer,
reload the game if you don't do it first time. Keep on taking pictures until
you can't anymore because the score is too low which is in about 4 pictures.
Achievements Unlocked: Researched a Splicer, Quality Research Photo.

Photographs taken 1/3.

Now go back the way you came and there will be an explosion, there will be a
flaming Splicer, zap him with the Electro Bolt, take as many pictures as
possible and then Shotgun the Splicer in the head. This is going to be your new
1-2-3 combo from now on until you complete your research.

Turn left and exit through the window, grab the Security Bullseye Plasmid here
but don't equip it, just press B to return to the game. Take pictures of the
Security Camera and the Leadhead Splicer below. You will probably fill your
second research bar for the Leadhead Splicer now and get the Scrounger Physical
Gene Tonic which is useless so don't equip it. Turn left and jump down, once
down you will find a large crate with an Audio Diary sticking out of it:
[Tenenbaum] Adam Discovery. Take it and then hack the Security Camera and Ammo
Bandito. Achievement Unlocked: Skilled Hacker, no more hacking for you.

Go through the hatch and you will see some burst pipes and a fire, behind the
pipes is another Audio Diary: [McDonagh] Eden Leaking. Take it and continue on
into the tunnel, there is a Security Camera here and under it is an Audio Diary
on a bench: [Tenenbaum] Fontaine's Smugglers. Pick it up and go to the right
into Jet Postal. As soon as you enter turn left to see an Audio Diary on a
table: [Andrew Ryan] Death Penalty In Rapture. Pick it up and use the Vending
Machine to buy as much Film for your Research Camera as possible. Enter the
door to go further into Jet postal and be careful of the Security Camera here,
take pictures of the Security Camera. I will remind you to take pictures of
Security Systems from now on until the end of the next level because I always
used to forget to photograph them. Go behind the shelves to make a Spider
Splicer attack you, zap it and take pictures of it, then kill it.

Photographs taken 2/3.

Use Telekinesis to grab items from all the shelves here and then leave. Go to
the other side of the tunnel and enter the Fighting McDonagh, use the 1-2-3
combo on the Splicers here and go to the right into the water. Enter the
crawlspace here and as soon as you do look to the right on the floor to find
an Audio Diary: [McDonagh] Meeting Ryan. Pick it up and continue along the
tunnel, once you get to the grating, open it and photograph the Splicers, then
kill them and get close to the Security Camera here to photograph it. You might
get the Static Discharge Combat Tonic by now from researching Leadhead Splicers
so equip it instead of Wrench Jockey if you do.

Go left and you will find 2 doors, enter the one on the right that does not
have a broken Door Control, on the table to your right you will find an Audio
Diary: [McDonagh] Rapture Changing. Take it and watch the window to see a Big
Daddy walk by outside. Then turn around and you will see a lot of boxes, behind
those boxes is a crawlspace that leads to a Turret and a Safe, so take pictures
of this Turret. Hack the Safe if you want. Now go to the other door and zap the
Door Control, 1-2-3 combo the Splicers. In the middle of this large room is a
square wooden pillar, on a tiny round table near the pillar is an Audio Diary:
[Sullivan] Smuggling Ring. Take it and go to the right to see a table with a
candle on it near the bathroom, on the table is another Audio Diary:
[Andrew Ryan] Working Late Again. Go into the bathroom and research the Nitro
Splicer in there. Use the Bathroom Stalls to open the cubicles for more items.

Exit the bathroom. You might find a Big Daddy with a Little Sister here now, if
you do, research them both and then kill the big Daddy with grenades and
Electric Buck. Then press Y to rescue the Little Sister, Tenenbaum will then
say that a little one will bring you a gift.

If you do not find a Big Daddy as you exit the bathroom or when you come down
from the second floor of the Fighting McDonagh it does not matter because we
can rescue the Little Sisters later.

Now go to the second floor of the Fighting McDonagh, once up go straight ahead
into the door in front of you. Loot the place, there is a Safe here. As soon as
you exit this room you get attacked by a Spider Splicer, zap him and take
pictures of him, kill him.

Goal Completed: Photograph 3 spider splicers.

Atlas tells you to go back to Fontaine Fisheries.

New Goal: Return to Fontaine Fisheries.

Now turn left and go approach room number "7" with the Keypad, the code is
7533, enter the room and find the Audio Diary on the bed: [Marishka Lutz] Saw
Masha Today. Pick it up and listen to all of it, then a board falls of a wall
revealing an Engineering Gene Tonic: Shorten Alarms. Equip it instead of
Security Expert and leave this room. As soon as you exit this room look to your
right to see another door, it has a broken Door Control so zap it and enter the
room. Lots of Leadhead Splicers attack you so 1-2-3 them if you have not
completed the research for them yet, then grab the Audio Diary from under the
bed: [McDonagh] Arresting Fontaine.

Exit this room and there will be a Nitro Splicer with a Security Bot
downstairs, take pictures of them from up above and then kill them. Then go and
buy more Film from the Vending Machine right outside the tavern. Then go into
the tunnel and there will be a Turret below the Security Camera, take pictures
of it, then go back down to the place where there is a Gene Bank and a
Gatherer's Garden machine. As you come down here you get attacked by the Spider
Splicer that Peach Wilkins helped you fend off. Take pictures of her and then
kill her. Peach Wilkins then says that it's easy to kill Splicers after you
have researched them up. To the left of the Gene Bank is a Combat Gene Tonic:
Wrench Lurker on the ledge. Take it but do not equip it. Now go down the stairs
into the water here and follow the tunnel up to a gate with a Keypad. The code
is 5380. Enter and search the corpse for some Exploding Buck, then grab the
Audio Diary that's standing against the crate: [Sullivan] Timmy H.
Interrogation.

Now you need to rescue all the Little Sisters. The Big Daddies spawn in three
locations in this level, the Lower Wharf where all the mud is, the Upper Wharf
and the Fighting McDonagh. You may have already rescued one of the Little
Sisters in the Fighting McDonagh. Now you need to rescue the rest. Go from
location to location until you find a Big Daddy with a Little Sister, then take
as many pictures of them as possible, then kill the Big Daddy using the Grenade
Launcher, Electric Buck and Armor-piercing Auto Rounds. While researching the
Big Daddies you will probably get the Photographer's Eye 2 Combat Gene Tonic,
when you do, equip it instead of Wrench Jockey. Once you rescue all the Little
Sisters read further. Also don't be afraid to waste all of your special ammo
while killing the Big Daddies.

Now that that's done go to the Gatherer's Garden machine and search the Teddy
Bear in front of it. It contains: 200 Adam, Hypnotise Big Daddy and 12 Armor-
piercing Pistol Rounds, take it all and don't equip Hypnotise Big Daddy yet.
You should now have a total of 440 ADAM. Use the Gatherer's Garden machine and
buy the following: Health Upgrade, Eve Upgrade, Armored Shell Combat Gene Tonic
and equip it instead of Static Discharge so you have: Photographer's Eye 2 and
Armored Shell in your Combat slots. Then buy EVE Link Physical Gene Tonic and
equip it instead of Hacker's Delight. Then buy the Extra Nutrition Physical
Gene Tonic and don't equip it. Now buy one Plasmid Slot for the Bought One Slot
Achievement and equip Incinerate and then buy one more Plasmid Slot and equip
Hypnotise Big Daddy. You should have 20 ADAM left after all of that, exit the
Gatherer's Garden machine.

Now go to the Fontaine Fisheries' Entrance and knock on it.

Goal Completed: Return to Fontaine Fisheries.

Once you enter Peach tells you that he won't let you in until you surrender
your weapons.

New Goal: Relinquish your weapons.

As soon as you enter this area look to the left to see an Engineering Gene
Tonic in the ice: Focused Hacker. Incinerate the ice and pick it up but don't
equip it. Turn around and you will see a Pneumonic Tube by the door, use it and
all of your weapons except for the Wrench and the Research Camera will be taken
away.

Goal Completed: Relinquish your weapons.

New Goal: Find the submarine bay.

Go through the hatch and melt the ice on the right for an Automatic Hack Tool.
Turn left and go through the gate, as soon as you do turn right to see an
alcove with a Security Camera, take pictures of it, then hack it. Come out of
this alcove and keep moving to the right and you will see a crate that you can
jump on, it's right at the back of this room, jump up to the platform here,
there is sheet metal here that you can hide behind. As soon as Peach Wilkins
finishes talking a Turret is revealed behind you, so take pictures of it and
then hack it too. When everybody starts attacking you just sit here while the
Turret shoots enemies, Security Bots will also probably appear if your Security
Camera spots anybody. So just sit back, relax, take pictures of everything and
occasionally throw back a grenade with Telekinesis. If you get the Security
Expert 2 Engineering Gene Tonic from researching Security Bots don't equip it.
Once Peach Wilkins is dead you get the Defeated Peach Wilkins Achievement.

Now melt the ice blocking the second hatch on the right as you came into this
area and go in, on the right in here you will find a crawlspace blocked by ice.
Melt the ice and crawl through, now melt all the ice in this room for an
Automatic Hack Tool and lots of cash. Exit and go into the first or second
hatch on the left and loot the place. Get out and go downstairs and you will
find another Pneumonic Tube, use it to get your weapons back, you will have
lost all your special ammo, keep going down the stairs into Freezer Bottom
Floor, right in front of you there will be your first Power to the People
Station, so use it and get the Shotgun Damage Increase upgrade. Achievement
Unlocked: Upgraded a Weapon.

Now would you kindly turn left and melt the ice off the hatch, go to the back
of the room and look to the left to see a Safe and an Audio Diary to the right
on a box: [Peach Wilkins] Putting The Screws On. Hack the safe if you want.
Take the Audio Diary and get out of here, go to the hatch on the right now,
melt the ice and enter, watch the ghosts, then melt the ice blocking the
tunnel. Go into the Smuggler's Hideout area and Atlas tells you that he needs
your help to get in.

Continue and you will find a metal ramp that leads to the Storage Cave area,
there is a Turret here so take pictures of it. To the right of the Turret is an
Audio Dairy standing against a Smuggler's Crate: [Peach Wilkins] Meeting With
Fontaine. Continue into the tunnel and you will reach a hole in the cave where
you can see the submarine from.

Goal Completed: Find the submarine bay.

Atlas tells you to flip a switch so that he can get in.

New Goal: Open the hatch.

Then Andrew Ryan says that if you do that he will destroy you.

Continue and you will find a gate, break the Lock and you will find the Control
Room with the Control Panel, ignore it for now and continue until you reach a
corridor from which you can see the submarine, on the left in this corridor is
a gate, break the Lock to find an Audio Diary on the floor by some boxes:
[Frank Fontaine] Kraut Scientist. You can go to the submarine now if you want
and Atlas will ask you if you can hear his family inside.

Now go back to the Control Room and use the Control Panel and watch what
happens. Then Atlas opens the door for you.

New Goal: Go to the submarine bay.

When the door opens again move to the Submarine Bay using the 1-2-3 combo on
the Splicers as you go. You might get the Extra Nutrition 3 Physical Gene
Tonic from researching Spider Splicers by now, don't equip it. Once you get to
the Submarine Bay Andrew Ryan blows up Atals' family and asks you why you came
here. Atlas tells you to get out of here and get to Arcadia.

New Goal: Escape the docking bay.

Go to the left and through the hatch that has an "Arcadia" sign above it, as
soon as you go through it, look to the left for an Audio Diary on the floor by
a box: [Peach Wilkins] Offered A Deal.

Now press BACK to go to the Status Menu, go to the Messages tab and make sure
that you have collected 22 Audio Diaries in Neptune's Bounty... Smuggler's
Hideout. If for some reason you have not, check the Audio Diary Locations
section under the Walkthrough section to find out which ones you missed and go
find them.

Now continue on into the metal room and use the Bulkhead to Arcadia. Second
level complete.

[[======== 4. Arcadia... Farmer's Market =============[AFMT]=================]]

Power to the People Stations: 2

Audio Diaries: 25

Little Sisters: 3

Big Daddy Locations:
1. Arcadia, Arcadia Glens.
2. Arcadia, Rolling Hills.
3. Arcadia, Langford's Office.
4. Farmer's Market, Market.
5. Farmer's Market, Winery Bottom and Top Floor.
[[===========================================================================]]

Atlas is obviously very upset about his family and wants to rip Ryan's face
off. After Ryan insults you Atlas tells you to go to the bathysphere in the
Rolling Hills so you can get to Andrew Ryan.

New Goal: Go to the Metro Station

Now see all these Smuggler's Crates in this cave, search them and you might
find a Battery, some Shell Casing, a Rubber Hose or Kerosene and stuff like
that. Break the Lock on the door and in front of you is a tomb, behind it is a
door with a torch on the left, use Incinerate to light the torch on the right
side of the door and it will open. Enter and search all the Smuggler's Crates
for junk. From this level on you will start finding all sorts of junk, you can
use this junk to invent items and Gene Tonics at U-Invent machines. There is
also an Achievement for inventing 100 item in one play and also inventing all
the 6 ammo types. This is why you must search every container and every enemy
for this junk and whenever you are inventing items make sure that you invent as
many items as possible. You should get the Avid Inventor Achievement for
inventing 100 items by the end of Apollo Square. For more information go to
the Inventing section under the Walkthrough.

Now get out of this room and turn right, you will see an archway, go under it
and then across the small wooden bridge on the left, you will see a ghost, then
turn left after the big rock to see some golden chairs, near them is an Audio
Diary: [McDonagh] Seeing Ghosts. Now go into this door here that has an
"Arcadia Glens" sign above it and go towards the bench to see more ghosts, pick
up the Audio Diary under this bench: [Dieter Sonnekalb] Big Night Out. Turn
left and follow the stone path to some golden chairs, amongst them is an Audio
Diary: [Tenenbaum] Mass Producing Adam. Now let's go see what that guy is
screaming about.

Exit this door here and turn left into another door. Save the game now. As soon
as you enter go left but not up the stairs and left again and you will see a
table with a mask and a Lockbox, go up to it and don't move. Look up at the
wall to see a shadow, take out your Research Camera, quickly turn around and
take as many pictures of the Houdini Splicer as possible. You should be able to
fill up 2 research bars and get the Natural Camouflage Physical Gene Tonic.
Equip it instead of EVE Link. If you don't do it first time, reload the game.
This Gene Tonic is very useful because if you don't move you turn invisible.
Very useful when you trigger an alarm. He said "Hello beautiful" to me.

Loot this floor and go up the stairs to the second. As you go through the door
he will attack you from behind. He will have Chlorophyll Solution on him, we
will need it later, so that's 1.

As you enter this room walk ahead a little and turn right to see a Gene Bank
and a table with an Audio Diary on it: [Langford] Arcadia Closed. Now to the
right of the door you entered this room from is a Crawlspace Door, there is
also another crawlspace in the centre of this room with an Automatic Hack Tool
inside. Now enter the other door which has a "Rapture Metro" sign above it and
go to the end of this long corridor, you get attacked from up above here, enter
the door and you will see a Thuggish Splicer walk by, take pictures of him and
then take pictures of the Turret to the right as you entered this room.

By the end of this level you should finish the research for Thuggish Splicers,
Houdini Splicers, Rosie Big Daddies, Turrets, Security Cameras and Security
Bots.

Behind the Turret is a Crawlspace Door, go in for more items than come out. You
should see another Thuggish Splicer here now, if you research him you should
get the Sport Boost Physical Gene Tonic by now, don't equip it. Also when you
get Sport Boost 2 from researching Thuggish Splicers don't equip it either
until I tell you to. To the left of the door you entered this room from is
another door with a broken Door Control, zap it and enter for more items. A
little to the right of the door you entered this room from are some large green
plants in large pots, to the left of them in the corner is a Crawlspace Door,
enter it to find a Safe and another door, hack the safe and go through the door
to a room full of good loot. Go out of a normal door here and go down the
stairs, loot this area and continue through the door to Arcadia Glens.

As soon as you enter this door run up the stairs and turn right to see a
Houdini Splicer shooting fire balls so take pictures of him. There is also a
U-Invent machine here, but before you use it look to the right and up of the
U-Invent and you will see a Crawlspace Door, you need to use the crates and
logs to get up to it. You should use the U-Invent now, make sure that by the
end of this level you have created Armor-piercing Auto Rounds, Antipersonnel
Pistol Rounds and Exploding Buck at least ones. Invent something now if you can
for the Basic Inventor Achievement. For more information on inventing go to the
Inventing section below the Walkthrough.

Now turn around and go down the stairs to the left into the water, make a U-
turn and pass the Trap Bolt to get to a Storage Crate. Then go back up, there
is no point continuing in the water. Move forward and you will come across a
Big Daddy killing a Splicer, take pictures of the Big Daddy and the Little
Sister and then help the Splicer kill the Big Daddy using the Grenade Launcher,
Electric Buck and Armor-piercing Auto Rounds. Then rescue the Little Sister by
pressing Y and Tenenbaum sends you another gift. A Little Sister will appear by
the Gatherer's Garden here and drop of the Teddy Bear. Research her too.

Grab the Gift for 200 ADAM, Safecracker Engineering Gene Tonic but don't equip
it and 12 Electric Buck. Tenenbaum is nice like that. Turn around and go to the
right, don't go into the Waterfall Grotto yet. Keep on moving and you will see
the entrance to the Rolling Hills and Atlas tells you that the bathysphere
station is through there.

But first we are going to do some other stuff, take pictures of the Security
Camera to the left of the Rolling Hills entrance and then destroy it, go down
the stairs to the left and through the door with the "Arcadia Glens" sign.
Enter the next door and turn right to find a Crawlspace Door, enter it for a
Safe and a Lockbox. As you exit the crawlspace use the Vending Machine on the
left to restock on Film, then enter the door on the right of the Vending
Machine and loot the place, a Thuggish Splicer should enter the room and when
he does, research him. Once you come out you will get attacked by a Houdini
Splicer so research him too. You will get Chlorophyll Solution from him too, so
that's 2.

Now go back to the Gatherer's Garden, look at it and turn right to see a Vita-
Chamber to the right of it are some stairs going down, go down them and go left
to get attacked by a Houdini Splicer, research him, kill him and grab more
Chlorophyll Solution from him, so that's 3. Go back up and then into the door
with a "Rolling Hills" sign that we passed before. To the left is an RPG
Turret, research it and the make sure you hack it. To the right of the Turret
is a bench with another "Rolling Hills" sign above it. To the right of the
bench is an Audio Diary on a huge rock: [Marishka Lutz] Shouldn't Have Come. A
Big Daddy will now come up here and walk towards a Little Sister vent, take
pictures of him and then of the Little Sister when he gets her. Save the game
now. You should have a lot of Electric Buck by now so shoot him once and then
hide behind a tree or something while your Turret attracts his attention, when
it starts taking chunks out of him unload your shotgun into his back. Once he
is dead press Y to rescue the Little Sister.

You should have 380 ADAM now so go to the Gatherer's Garden machine and use it
to buy the following items: Human Inferno Combat Tonic but don't equip it, one
Plasmid Slot and equip Security Bullseye in it, one Physical Slot and equip
Sport Boost 2 which you should already have from researching Thuggish Splicers,
one Engineering Slot and equip Safecracker in it and one Combat Slot and equip
Static Discharge 2 which you should have from researching Leadhead Splicers.

Now go back to the Rolling Hills and to that bench, turn left and go down the
stairs and then to the right. Then Andrew Ryan kills all the trees with some
gas. Atlas tells you that you will die without the oxygen that the trees
provide so you need to find the woman that planted these trees because she will
want to help you.

New Goal: Find Julie Langford.

Now go back to the stairs and near them an opening to another room has now been
opened, you will meet a Houdini Splicer in there so research him. As soon as
you enter this room look on the floor for an Audio Diary: [Langford] The
Saturnine. Move forward and you will see a wooden table/ shrine thing, to the
left of it is a Steamer Trunk and on top of it is more Chlorophyll Solution, so
take it. That's 4. When you head for the exit the Houdini Splicer will appear,
research him and kill him, search him for more Chlorophyll Solution, that's 5.
Now go up the stairs to your right up to Upper Rolling Hills and you will see
another entrance like the one before. Enter it and head to the right to find
more Chlorophyll Solution on a wooden table by a trunk, that's 6. A Houdini
Splicer attacks you so research him, kill him and search him for more
Chlorophyll Solution, that's 7 and that's enough.

Go back to Lower Rolling Hills and you will see a big "Research Laboratories"
sign, go there and there will be a Security Camera on the left, research it and
hack it. Then go into the hatch here and Langford will tell you to get a rose
specimen.

New Goal: Collect a rose specimen.

Now go to the Gatherer's Garden, opposite it is the entrance to Waterfall
Grotto, enter it and you will see Thuggish Splicers beating up a Houdini
Splicer and by the Houdini Splicer is a Security Evasion Physical Gene Tonic,
take it but don't equip it. Now in the Waterfall Grotto as you come in here
there is a "Waterfall Grotto" sign, under it is a bench and on the bench is an
Audio Diary: [Andrew Ryan] The Market Is Patient. To the left is a U-Invent and
there are free RPGs near it. Now find the stairs and go down until you reach a
Turret, research it. Further on is a Security Camera, research it. From the
Security Camera turn right and then left and you will see a door with a broken
Door Control, zap it and go in. You will find an Audio Diary in this room:
[Diane McClintock] Heroes and Criminals.

Now continue down the stairs and as soon as you're in the water look to the
left for a Turret, research it. To the right of the Turret is a Little Sister
vent and to the right of that is a corpse and there is an Audio Diary on a
stone slab beside it: [Andrew Ryan] Offer A Better Product. Turn around and you
will see a huge rose bush, to the left is a Storage Crate and on it, is another
Audio Diary: [Langford] Early Tests Promising. Take a Rose.

New Goal: Bring the rose specimen to Langford.

Turn around and go into the entrance here, there is a Turret you can research
and some loot. Now go back to the Research Laboratories and send the rose
through the Pneumonic Tube to Langford.

New Goal: Meet Langford.

She opens the hatch for you, go in and take the Hacking Expert Engineering Gene
Tonic from the desk in front of you don't equip it. To the right there is an
Audio Diary on a File Cabinet: [Langford] What Won't They Steal? Now go into
the door on the right and look a little to the left to see an Audio Diary on a
table full of plants: [Langford] Teaching An Old Hound. Then continue to
Langford's Office. Andrew Ryan let's in some gas into her office, with her
dying breath she writes 4 numbers on the glass. Atlas gets annoyed by this.

New Goal: Search Langford's Office.

As soon as you go in turn left and search Langford's body for an Audio Diary:
[Langford] The Lazarus Vector. Then grab the Chemical Thrower from the table in
the middle of the room, very powerful weapon. Do not waste the Electric Gel
when you find it for this weapon. Then open the Botanical Illustration and open
the Wall Safe with the code Langford wrote on the glass, 9457. You get an Audio
Diary: [Langford] Lazarus Vector Formula. You also get the Market Key, very
important stuff.

New Goal: Invent the Lazarus Vector.

To do so you will need 7 Distilled Water, 7 Bee Enzyme and 7 Chlorophyll
Solution which we already have. Go out of Langford's Office and go through the
tunnel, be careful now because all the Security Systems are active now.
Research and hack all of them, there are 2 Turrets and 1 Security Camera. There
should also be a Big Daddy here now so research him too. Go back to the Rolling
Hills and Atlas tells you that you can find the items you need in the Farmer's
Market.

New Goal: Go to the Farmer's Market.

Exit the Rolling Hills area through the door in the Upper Rolling Hills, as
soon as you do turn left to see a door with a "Tree Farm" sign above it, enter
it. Once you do continue moving straight and you will find an Audio Diary
against a Storage Crate: [Langford] Arcadia And Oxygen. There is also some loot
under these stairs. There is a Splicer with a Security Bot here so research it.
Now continue on and you will find some stairs on the left with a huge "Farmer's
Market" sign above them, go up them and turn left into a small alcove with a
Power to the People Station, get the Shotgun Rate of Fire upgrade and you will
get the One Fully Upgraded Weapon Achievement. Continue down more stairs and
you will reach some ticket booths, in the one on the left is a Safe. Right
after the ticket booths, on the floor is an Audio Diary: [Tenenbaum] Maternal
Instinct. There is a corpse right before the entrance to the Farmer's Market
with Electric Buck ammo. Now go and use the Bulkhead to Market to get into the
Farmer's Market.

As soon as you emerge go straight ahead to find a corpse next to a Pneumonic
Tube, search it for a Bee Enzyme.

Enzyme Sample Found: 1/7

Then grab the Audio Diary between the corpse and the Pneumonic Tube:
[Tasha Denu] Bee Enzyme. Listen to it.

Goal Updated: Obtain 7 Enzyme Samples.

Continue through the tunnel and as soon as you come out research the Turret on
the left. Now go to the right and you will find a Security Camera above a door,
research it too. Now look at the door, turn around and head straight for the
counter in front of you to find an Audio Diary under a round sign:
[Andrew Ryan] Pulling Together. Now go behind this counter to find another
Turret to research. Close to the Turret is a Safe. Now go back to the first
Turret and go down the stairs to the left. You will find the Eve Link 2
Physical Gene Tonic on the floor by the Vending Machine and U-Invent so pick it
up but don't equip it. Hack the Vending Machine and restock on Film.

Then continue further into this area towards the large tree and turn left, you
will see 2 entrances behind the counter, go into the room that actually has a
door and right in front of you on the floor there is an Audio Diary to the
right of the Big Daddy corpse: [Andrew Ryan] First Encounter.

Now press BACK to go to the Status Menu and go to the Messages tab, then go to
Neptune's Bounty... Smuggler's Hideout and you will see that the Audio Diary
you just picked up is there instead of Arcadia... Farmer's Market. So you
should now have a total of 23 Audio Diaries in Neptune's Bounty... Smuggler's
Hideout. I do not know why this happens.

Now go left into the water and then left again to see a table with an Audio
Diary on it: [Tenenbaum] Hatred. Pick it up and go to the other room that is
behind the counter but does not have a door. Loot the place and take your first
bottle of Distilled Water from the table on the right.

Distilled Water Found: 1/7

Go out of this room and turn to the left to see a gate with a Keypad, the code
is 0512, loot the place and go out, go up the stairs to the left. There are 2
doors here, one with many small windows and the other with 2 big ones and an
"Employees Only" sign next to it. Enter the second one and crouch to avoid the
Security Camera, move forward and enter the Crawlspace Door here to find an
Audio Diary against a Storage Crate: [Andrew Ryan] Desperate Times. Climb up
the crates and go through the crawlspace, exit using the Crawlspace Door and
look up to see the Security Camera, research it, hack it. There is also a Safe
here.

There will now be a Big Daddy here fighting some Splicers, so research him and
the Little Sister. You can now try out your new Electric Gel for the Chemical
Thrower you got from Langford's Lab on the Big Daddy. Ones the Big Daddy is
dead rescue the Little Sister by pressing Y. Now go to the hatch that has a
"Silverwing Apiary" and "Worley Winery" sing to the left of it and there is
another bottle of Distilled Water on the floor in front of the hatch, so pick
it up.

Distilled Water Found: 2/7

Now pick up the Audio Diary on the floor here as well: [Pierre Gobbi] Water In
Wine.

Goal Updated: Obtain 7 Distilled Water.

Go through the hatch into the tunnel and turn left into the Silverwing Apiary.
Grab the Audio Diary on the counter in front of you as you go in: [Tenenbaum]
Adam Explained. Ignore the Gatherer's Garden machine. Now go through the door
behind the counter and save the game, this next bit can be hard. What you have
to do is press the Smoker Control, wait for the bees to disperse, run down and
search as many Bee Hives as possible for Bee Enzyme while Splicers attack you
and make sure that you run back up the stairs to safety before the timer runs
out and the bees come back. Repeat until you find 7 Bee Enzyme. There are
precisely 7 Bee Enzyme in this room, because we already have 1 we only need 6
more from this room, but I advise you to find all 7 because we will need lots
of Bee Enzyme later.

Enzyme Sample Found: 2/7

Enzyme Sample Found: 3/7

Enzyme Sample Found: 4/7

Enzyme Sample Found: 5/7

Enzyme Sample Found: 6/7

Goal Completed: Obtain 7 Enzyme Samples.

Go out of the Silverwing Apiary and turn left into the Worley Winery. There is
a wall in front of you as you go in, behind it is a Turret and a Security
Camera, research and hack both of them. In between them is a Safe, hack it. You
will get 2 more Distilled Water from it.

Distilled Water Found: 4/7

To the left on the floor is another bottle of Distilled Water, pick it up.

Distilled Water Found: 5/7

On the right side of this room there are 3 large round tables, there is an
Audio Diary on one of them: [Tenenbaum] Functional Children, pick it up. There
is a Vending Machine here, to the right of it is a Storage Crate, look next to
the crate to see some cheese and bullet holes, it's Pac Man. Then go to the
stairs that go down. Above the Trap Bolt is another bottle of Distilled Water
on a wooden support. Grab it with Telekinesis and go down the stairs.

Distilled Water Found: 6/7

Once down the stairs you will see a small opening in the wall, we will go there
later, first turn left after the stairs and left again into a corridor, you
will get attacked by Splicers, then a Big Daddy should come up here, if he
does, research him, then turn right after the Bot Shutdown Panel and continue
until you can go left or right. Go to the left and you will find a corpse with
a Shotgun. Search the corpse for more Distilled Water.

Goal Completed: Obtain 7 Distilled Water

Goal Updated: Create the Lazarus Vector.

Atlas tells you to use a U-Invent to create the Lazarus Vector and then to go
back to Langford's Lab to use it. Now turn around and walk forwards and you
will find another bottle of Distilled Water, pick it up, we still need these to
invent very useful stuff later in the game so don't stop collecting Distilled
Water or Bee Enzyme as they are some of the rarest items you can find and you
need them to invent the best items. For example you can't invent new Gene
Tonics without Bee Enzyme, that's why I told you to find all 7 samples in the
Silverwing Apiary.

Now would you kindly turn around and go to the left and then to the right to
find a U-Invent machine, there is more Distilled Water near it, so like I said
pick it up. Use the U-Invent and create the Lazarus Vector.

Goal Completed: Create the Lazarus Vector.

New Goal: Return to Arcadia.

But before we do that we have more stuff to do here, once again turn around and
go down the stairs, continue walking forward and into the water, here you will
find a Power to the People Station. Use it and get the Chemical Thrower
Consumption Rate upgrade. There is more Distilled Water on the floor here. Now
go to the top left part of this area (check the Map), I do not mean go
upstairs, I mean on the Map and you will find a small room (the one we could
see through the opening from upstairs), set 2 Proximity Mines by the huge
barrels outside this room and go in. Grab all the loot and the Photographer's
Eye Combat Gene Tonic but don't equip it because you should have Photographer's
Eye 2 equipped which you should have from researching Rosies and you should be
almost finished with your research anyway.

Now you get attacked, that's what the mines were for. Now go into the centre of
this area and you will find a Security Camera, research it. Outside the little
tunnel that the Security Camera is in there is a Crawlspace Door, use it and
you will find a Turret to research and lots of loot. Now search the rest of
this large area for loot, you should find a lot of Distilled Water and other
stuff in Storage Crates.

Now go back to the Bulkhead to Arcadia.

Goal Completed: Return to Arcadia.

Go through, move forward a little and Andrew Ryan starts talking, stop, don't
move because Andrew Ryan sets of an alarm, you will turn invisible, once the
Security Bots appear, research them. Then go to the Research Laboratories,
stock up on First Aid Kits and stuff here and then continue on to Langford's
Office. Once there go up to the Misting Machine by the window and use it.

New Goal: Deploy the Lazarus Vector.

Andrew Ryan says that he's going to teach you a lesson and Atlas tells you to
seal the entrance to Langford Labs.

New Goal: Seal the door to Langford Labs.

From now on enemies will be constantly triggering alarms thanks to your
Security Camera here, so it's a very good opportunity to complete your research
for the Security Bot.

Now quickly go to the entrance of the Research Laboratories and by the hatch
there is a Pneumonic Tube, search it for items that Atlas sent you to help you,
he's a good guy that Atlas. Now use the Lab Access Seal to close the hatch, do
this quickly or you will fail this Goal.

Goal Completed: Seal the door to Langford Labs.

Get ready for a big fight once the Splicers break through the door.

New Goal: Hold of Ryan's forces.

Now here is the bad news, you can't wait this one out in a corner, the mission
won't advance, you have to kill all the Splicers. So I suggest you get out your
Shotgun, then use the Hypnotise Big Daddy Plasmid on the Big Daddy here and
slaughter all the Splicers with his help. MAKE SURE THAT YOU SEARCH the enemies
here for loot as soon as you kill them because they have some nice stuff. After
you kill a few Splicers you get a Goal Update.

Goal Updated: Lazarus Vector Circulation: 1/3 Complete.

Kill more Splicers.

Goal Updated: Lazarus Vector Circulation: 2/3 Complete.

Kill a lot more Splicers.

Goal Updated: Deploy the Lazarus Vector

Kill any remaining Splicers, grab their stuff and go to Langford's Office. Now
use the Misting Deployment.

Goal Completed: Deploy the Lazarus Vector.

Look out the window to see the trees come back to life, Langford really was a
genius then. Atlas congratulates you and tells you to go to the Rolling Hills
to get to the bathysphere and then to Ryan. Achievement Unlocked: Restored the
Forest.

New Goal: Go to the Metro Station.

Get out of the Research Laboratories and turn left towards the hatch with the
"Rapture Metro" sign above it. Before you go in look to each side of the hatch
and you will see little platforms, you can't see it but there is stuff on them,
so suck it in with Telekinesis. Go through the hatch and Ryan says that he
thinks you belong to Atlas and that he is going to find a way to kill you. Go
through the next hatch and look to the right to see an Audio Diary on a wooden
bench: [Andrew Ryan] The Great Chain. There is also a Gift just like the one
you had on the plane.

Now press BACK to go to the Status Menu, go to the Messages tab and make sure
that you have collected 23 Audio Diaries in Neptune's Bounty... Smuggler's
Hideout and 24 Audio Diaries in Arcadia... Farmer's Market even though there
are technically 25 in Arcadia... Farmer's Market and 22 in Neptune's Bounty...
Smuggler's Hideout. If for some reason you have not, check the Audio Diary
Locations section under the Walkthrough section to find out which ones you
missed and go find them.

If you are low on Film, go and restock now.

When you do that, go to the bathysphere.

Goal Completed: Go to the Metro Station.

Go inside the bathysphere and use the Bathysphere Lever. Level 3 is complete.

[[======== 5. Fort Frolic ============================[FTFC]=================]]

Power to the People Stations: 2

Audio Diaries: 15

Little Sisters: 3

Big Daddy Locations:
1. Fort Frolic, Lower Atrium.
2. Fort Frolic, Upper Atrium.
3. Fort Frolic, Poseidon Plaza.
[[===========================================================================]]

This is my favourite level of the game.

Go through the hatch and Atlas tells you that Andrew Ryan has handed the keys
of Fort Frolic to Sander Cohen. He also mentions that Cohen is a psycho. None
of that matters though because you need to go to the bathysphere station to get
to Hephaestus and then to Ryan.

New Goal: Go to Hephaestus.

Look to the left as soon as you go through the hatch and you will see 2 Slot
Machines. Save the game. Now would you kindly use the Slot Machines until you
get $$$ and win 250 Dollars, this will get you the Lucky Winner Achievement.
If you run out of money while doing this just reload the game. You will get it
eventually.

Now go left to a U-Invent machine and use it. Now there are 3 Gene Tonics you
can invent, inventing them is your highest priority when it comes to inventing
items, but in order to invent them you need lots of Bee Enzyme which you
probably don't have. The first Gene Tonic you should invent out of these 3 when
you can is Booze Hound because it makes it so that when you drink alcohol you
gain EVE instead of loosing it. Don't equip the other 2 when you invent them
though. You will also see that you can now invent Heat-seeking RPGs, Trap Bolts
and Electric Gel. If you invented the other 3 types of ammo in the previous
level like I told you, you will get the Ammo Inventor Achievement once you
invent these 3 new ammo types. If you have not yet, you can always do it later.
Right now though you should be able to invent lots of Electric Gel and Trap
Bolts, so do so.

Now go into the hatch with the "Rapture Metro Hephaestus" sign above it and
approach the bathysphere, it will submerge. Then Sander Cohen introduces
himself. He is my favourite character in Bioshock.

Goal Updated: Find Sander Cohen.

Go back to the hatch to be tested by Sander Cohen. You will be attacked by many
Spider Splicers, this is a very good opportunity to complete your Spider
Splicer research if you have not already. Once you pass his test he will
welcome you to Fort Frolic and then tell you to come to the Fleet Hall.

Goal Updated: Go to the Fleet Hall.

The entrance to Fort Frolic under the "Welcome to Fort Frolic" sign is now
open, go in. Then Sander tells you that he jammed the transmitions of Andrew
and Atlas and that he is going to test you like all his disciples. He also
calls you little moth, hence my alias. Go up the stairs and as soon as you do
look to the left before entering the archway and you will see a Trash Can on
the floor, under it is an Audio Diary: [Diane McClintock] Stood Up Again. Then
go through the archway and turn left and you will find the door to a store
called "Cohen's Collection", go in and by the white table there is a small
table with many paint brushes on it, there is also an Audio Diary on it:
[Sander Cohen] The Doubters. Pick it up and then go upstairs, careful of the
Turret. There are 3 Wall Safes up here, lots of loot. You probably won't need
it all now so you should probably come back later for more if you want.

Get out of the store and go into the Fleet Hall through the glass door that was
in front of you when you came up the stairs. Continue and you will find a
Security Camera, to the left of it is an elevator, push the Elevator Button to
call the elevator. You will probably get attacked, when the elevator comes down
enter it and push another button to go up. Then go into the Fleet Hall Theater
via the glass door on the left and watch what happens, or you can shoot Kyle to
speed things up but that's not as interesting.

Goal Completed: Go to the Fleet Hall.

Sander tells you to take a picture of Fitzpatrick so he may remember him.

New Goal: Photograph the dead pianist.

If you wait little Sander Cohen will tell you to hurry up because Kyle can't
hold that pose forever. Funny.

Take a picture of Fitzpatrick. Now Cohen instructs you to put the picture in
his masterpiece.

New Goal: Find Cohen's Masterpiece.

Now look to the left side of the theater and you will see that there are
balconies, on the last one to the left is the Alarm Expert Engineering Gene
Tonic. To get to it you can jump onto the seats here and then to the balcony
before the one the Gene Tonic is on and then to the Gene Tonic or use the doors
behind the balconies. Don't equip it. You then get attacked by 2 Houdini
Splicers. Now go back to the Upper Atrium, then down the stairs to the Lower
Atrium and you will find Cohen's Masterpiece. After he stops talking put the
picture in one of the frames.

Goal Completed: Find Cohen's Masterpiece.

New Goal: Kill Martin Finnegan.

New Goal: Kill Hector Rodriguez.

New Goal: Kill Silas Cobb.

Cohen's Masterpiece: 1/4

New Goal: Finish Cohen's Masterpiece.

Cohen tells you that there are 3 more of his disciples he wants you to kill
because they betrayed him, take pictures of their bodies and set them in his
quadtych. Then he will let you go to Ryan.

But before we do any of that we need to go someplace else. First grab the last
weapon in the game: the Crossbow, from the guy sitting on the right side of the
quadtych. This will be your new Shotgun if you are a good shot, if you're not,
too bad. Now we need to go to the Southern Mall which is directly below the
Lower Atrium (check the Map). To the right of the quadtych is a door, enter it
and go to the right, you will find a Security Camera here. There are 2 archways
here, go through the one on the right and you will see a chair near a board
that is on fire. Next to the chair is a small stool and on it is an Audio
Diary: [Silas Cobb] Come To The Record Store. To the left there are 2
bathrooms, loot them and then come out.

Now head a little further into the Southern Mall and you will find a door on
the right which leads into Sophia's Salon and another door on the left. First
enter Sophia's Salon, loot the place and then go into the entrance behind the
counter where you will find a door. Enter it and look behind the piano for my
favourite Audio Diary in the game: [Sander Cohen] The Wild Bunny. Awesomeness
itself. Now go out of the store and into the door in front of you, go down the
stairs and grab the Audio Diary from the counter: [Sullivan] Artist's Feud.
There is a Safe under the counter too. Jump over the counter and loot the
Cocktail Lounge.

Now head further into the Southern Mall and you will find the last store which
is Le Marquis D'Epoque. Go in and loot the first floor, then go down stairs and
into the room with all the cigars and you will find a Power to the People
Station. Get the Grenade Launcher Damage Immunity upgrade, then turn around and
you will see a corpse with an Audio Diary between his legs: [Albert Milonakis]
Fancy Cigarettes. There is also a piece of paper near him with the numbers
7774. Get out of the store and go back to the Lower Atrium.

Go up the stairs to the Upper Atrium and then turn to the left and you will
find the hatch with a "Poseidon Plaza" sign above it. Go in and you will find a
woman attached to the ceiling, melt the ice and she will fall down, search her.
Then look at the pipe here and you will see an Audio Diary stuck in the ice:
[Martin Finnegan] The Iceman Cometh. Continue into the frozen room and you will
get frozen, once you are free again, don't move. Take out your Crossbow and
click the right stick to zoom in, you will see 2 Splicers at the back of the
room, shoot the one on the left in the head. Done and Done.

Goal Updated: Photograph Finnegan's corpse.

To your left is a Trash Can, search it for Bee Enzyme, then melt all the other
ice in this room for loot. Now take a picture of Martin.

Goal Updated: Post Finnegan's photo.

Now search his corpse for the Frozen Field Combat Gene Tonic but don't equip
it. Go back to the Lower Atrium and you will find a Bouncer Big Daddy fighting
Splicers, take a picture of him for the Prolific Photographer Achievement, then
take as many pictures of him and the Little Sister as possible. Now let's try
out the Trap Bolts. Shoot five in a row at a wall, not too high though, then
stand behind them and shoot the Big Daddy with anything once, he will charge at
you and run into the Trap Bolts if they are in his path of course, so you have
to position yourself in a way so that Big Daddy runs into the Trap Bolts when
he charges at you. This will leave him with little health, so finish him of
with Electric Gel or something and press Y to rescue the Little Sister.

Now go to the quadtych and set the picture in a frame.

Goal Completed: Post Finnegan's photo.

Cohen's Masterpiece: 2/4

Grab your new Gift. Now we are going to rescue the other 2 Little Sisters in
this level. You can find the Big Daddies here in the Lower Atrium, upstairs in
the Upper Atrium, through the Frozen Tunnel in Poseidon Plaza and on the second
floor of Poseidon Plaza. While you are on the first and second floors of
Poseidon Plaza DO NOT go into any of the stores. Don't forget to research the
Big Daddies and Little Sisters. You will get the Wrench Jockey 2 Combat Gene
Tonic from researching Big Daddies, do not equip it. Use Trap Bolts, Electric
Buck and Electric Gel to take care of the Big Daddies and then press Y to
rescue the Little Sisters.

Once you do that go to the Upper Atrium and find the Gatherer's Garden machine
there. Grab your Gift which contains 200 ADAM, Hypnotise Big Daddy 2 and 4
First Aid Kits. You should now have 540 ADAM, use the Gatherer's Garden machine
and buy the following: Health Upgrade, EVE Upgrade, Hacking Expert 2
Engineering Gene Tonic and don't equip it yet, one Physical Tonic Slot and
equip EVE Link 2, one Engineering Tonic Slot and equip Hacking Expert 2 and one
Combat Tonic Slot and equip Human Inferno.

Now go to Poseidon Plaza and as soon as you exit the Frozen Tunnel go into Sir-
Prize which is in front of you and a little to the right. There are billiard
balls on the Pool table here which are fun to throw around. Behind the Pool
table is a counter and a knocked over Slot Machine, between them there is an
Audio Diary in a box: [McDonagh] Fontaine's Army. There is also a Pipe in this
box, it's a useless item but it's very rare. There is also a Safe under the
counter. Now go to the second floor of Sir-Prize to find some Crossbow ammo, go
back down and exit the store.

Turn left and go to the end of the hall to find the entrance to Sinclair
Spirits. Go inside and watch out for the Security Camera, then go behind the
counter, find and push the Switch, a door will open in front of you. Before you
go in, note the Splicer in front of the door, also search the Storage Crate to
the right of the door for good loot. Go down the stairs and note the Splicer
sitting in the chair, then use the Power to the People Station to get the
Grenade Launcher Damage Increase upgrade and the Two Upgraded Weapons
Achievement. Turn around and KILL THE SPIDER SPLICER in the face. There is a
Safe to the right of the Power to the People Station.

Go out of Sinclair Spirits, in front of you is a big fountain/ statue thing,
behind it is a "More Items Downstairs" sign, go to it and go down the stairs
here. In this room you will find the Extra Nutrition 2 Physical Gene Tonic,
don't equip it, some Proximity Grenades and an Automatic Hack Tool in the
Storage Crate. Kill the Splicers here and grab their stuff. Go out of this room
and turn right and then left into another hall. In this hall you will find the
entrance to Robertson's Tobaccoria on the left, go in. Grab the Audio Diary
from small table here: [McDonagh] Guns Blazing. Now go up to the door with the
Keypad and enter the code 7774. Be careful of the Security Camera in here, then
loot the place. Exit the store.

Now turn left and enter Eve's Garden, watch the ghost on the stage, loot the
place. There is a U-Invent here, use it, you should have enough stuff to create
maybe 2 Gene Tonics, if you do, make sure you create Booze Hound and equip it
instead of EVE Link 2. Now put up 5 Trap Bolts right before the door here, not
outside, inside the place. Now jump on stage and go into the entrance, watch
the ghost, now come up to the door and listen to Andrew murder Jasmine. There
is another Pipe near the bed and an Audio Diary under it: [Jasmine Jolene]
Pregnancy. There is a Safe to the right of the bed in a corner. Go out of here
and you will hear somebody shouting, exit the corridor and look to the right to
see Hector Rodriguez sitting at the bar. When he notices you, the fool will get
up and run into your trap, finish him of if he survives.

Goal Updated: Photograph Rodriguez's corpse.

Search him for a unique item: Old Harbinger Beer and other loot, then take a
picture of him.

Goal Updated: Post Rodriguez's photo.

Cohen says that you're an angel and that he has never "painted" one before and
then says that maybe he should. Is that a threat? Now go back into Eve's Garden
and go up to the bar where Hector was sitting, you will find an Audio Diary on
the counter here: [Rodriguez] It's All Grift. Now go back to the Lower Atrium
and set the picture in Cohen's Masterpiece.

Goal Complete: Post Rodriguez's photo.

Cohen's Masterpiece: 3/4

New Goal: Defeat Cohen's splicers.

Cohen dislikes your negative attitude towards his masterpiece (what's wrong
with you?), goes into a crazy rampage and sends a horde of Splicers your way.
This is my favourite part of the game, it's all about the little things, like
the music. What you will be doing is running around with your Shotgun blasting
Splicers while listening to Tchaikovsky. Oh, and don't forget to smile. Kill
all the Splicers and take their stuff.

Sander Cohen asks for forgiveness and another Gift appears on the quadtych.
Take the Gift and go back to Poseidon Plaza. Go up the stairs on the right and
look to your right to see the entrance to Pharaoh's Fortune Casino, go in and
shoot the Security Camera up above on the second floor. There is a Wall Safe to
the right behind the counter. To the left is a Jukebox. Now go to the second
floor of the casino, loot it and grab the Audio Diary from the Pool table:
[Sullivan] Bump Culpepper? Now go out of the casino and head to the left to
find the entrance to a store called Rapture Records, go in.

As soon as you enter Rapture Records turn left and go behind the counter, under
it is an Audio Diary: [Anna Culpepper] Ryan's Stableboy. Now jump down stairs
and get close to the corpse in the chair, then run away from it and go hide in
a corner somewhere. The chair will explode and Cobb appears, throws a Molotov
Cocktail into the ventilation system and runs away. Now crispy Spider Splicers
will start falling from the ceiling, shoot them as they land. Once they are all
dead find the crawlspace on the left side by the window and use it to get to
the first floor again. Exit the store and Cobb will be in front of you, kill
him.

Goal Updated: Photograph Cobb's corpse.

Search him and then take a picture of him.

Goal Updated: Post Cobb's photo.

Go back to the Lower Atrium and set the last photo in the last frame.

Goal Completed: Finish Cohen's Masterpiece.

Goal Complete: Post Cobb's photo.

Achievement Unlocked: Completed Cohen's Masterpiece. Isn't it beautiful? Save
the game now. Sander Cohen comes down to admire his quadtych, DO NOT KILL HIM.
Also be aware that if a Splicer hits you while you're standing close to Cohen
your Static Discharge will hit him too, so be careful. Now wait for him to look
at his masterpiece and then follow him to your reward. Take the Medical Expert
2 Physical Gene Tonic and equip it instead of Medical Expert. Now Atlas tells
you to go to the bathysphere, to reach Hephaestus where Ryan is.

New Goal: Leave Fort Frolic.

Before we do that there is just one more little thing left to do here. Go up
the stairs to the entrance of the Fleet Hall Theater, then get to where the
Security Camera was or is and turn to the right to see some stairs. Go up them
and into the archway, as soon as you enter the archway turn left to see an
Audio Diary by a Guitar: [Sander Cohen] Musical Insult. You can play the Guitar
if you tap A. Now go up more stairs into the Projection Booth and grab the
Audio Diary on the desk in front of you: [Sander Cohen] Requiem For Andrew
Ryan. Then take the Electric Flesh Combat Gene Tonic from the shelf and equip
it instead of Human Inferno.

Now press BACK to go to the Status Menu, go to the Messages tab and make sure
that you have collected 15 Audio Diaries in Fort Frolic. If for some reason you
have not, check the Audio Diary Locations section under the Walkthrough section
to find out which ones you missed and go find them.

Now go to the Rapture Metro in Fort Frolic to get to the bathysphere, get in
and use the Bathysphere Lever. Level 4 is complete.

[[======== 6. Hephaestus... Rapture Central Control ==[HRCC]=================]]

3. Hephaestus, Lower Heat Loss Monitoring.
4. Hephaestus, Upper Workshops.
5. Hephaestus, Lower Workshops.
[[===========================================================================]]

Move forward a little and Atlas tells you to go kill Ryan and get the genetic
key from him so we can get out of Rapture.

New Goal: Go to Andrew Ryan's Office.

Go through the hatch and then through the tunnel, go down the ramp and into the
door, then turn left and go up the stairs, jump over the broken pipe and search
the Storage Crate by the Vending Machine for an Audio Diary: [McDonagh] Ryan
Takes F. Futuristics. Now go through the next door, turn left and head towards
the Vita-Chamber, then grab the Audio Diary from the floor that's between the
Vita-Chamber and the Vending Machine: [Kyburz] Scoping The Gate. In the centre
of this room is a desk and on it as a Grenade Launcher, if you're low on ammo
for your Grenade Launcher then pick it up, just know that you get attacked by a
lot of Splicers if you do. Now head towards the next door and be careful of the
Security Camera. Now head through the door.

Go through the small corridor and you will enter Central Control, there are
corpses on the walls, don't search them yet. There is a door here that has a
"Hephaestus Core" sign above it, set up 5 Trap bolts before it. Now on the
right side of this large room there is another door, go in, on the desk in
front of you there will be an Audio Diary: [Andrew Ryan] A Man Or A Parasite.
There is also a Safe under this desk. On the desk next to this one is the
Frozen Field 2 Combat Gene Tonic, pick it up but don't equip it. Leave this
room. Now search the first corpse on the wall to the right as you entered this
area for an Audio Diary: [McDonagh] Stopping Ryan. Now search the last corpse
on the wall on the left for some Distilled Water and then the corpse opposite
it on the right for another Audio Diary and some Bee Enzyme:
[Anya Andersdotter] Going To Heat Loss. Listen to it.

New Goal: Overload the Core.

New Goal: Search Heat Loss Monitoring.

Andrew Ryan insults you once again and then you get attacked, luckily, we have
set a trap. Now go through the new entrance, search the Big Daddy corpse for a
Brass Tube and Enter the Hephaestus Core. Once you emerge from the tunnel enter
the door on the left and you should see a Bouncer killing Splicers, research
him and the Little Sister, then kill him and save the Little Sister by pressing
Y. Killing Big Daddies should be a piece of cake by now. After you kill this
Big Daddy DO NOT kill any more until I tell you to.

You should finish the research for the Little Sisters and Bouncer Big Daddies
by the end of this level and all your research in general for the Research PhD
Achievement.

We are now on the top floor of the Core area, go to the other side of this
floor and you will find a Vita-Chamber, to the right of it on the floor by the
railing is an Audio Diary: [McDonagh] Fontaine's Legacy. From here turn around
and go down the stairs, as soon as you're down turn around and you will see
some desks, pass them and keep to the right wall and you will find a small
alcove with a Security Camera, under the camera there is a knocked over File
Cabinet with an Audio Diary on top of it: [Pablo Navarro] Running Short On
R-34s. Now look at the camera, turn around and you will see a hatch in front of
you, turn to the right and you will see some stairs going down, pass them and
in a little alcove on the left you will find a Safe. Now go down the stairs
you passed before and turn into the alcove on the right to find a Splicer
tinkering with a Vending Machine, do not touch it. Go up to the Vending Machine
and turn right into an alcove with a corpse for loot, now go to the Vending
Machine, look at it and turn around to see another hatch, from here turn left
and keep on moving until you find more stairs going down. Go down them and you
will find an Audio Diary on a desk: [Andrew Ryan] Impossible Anywhere Else.

There is also some Electric Gel down here, now go up the stairs, pass the
Vending Machine I told you not to touch and go up the little ramp, you will see
a Power to the People Station on the left wall and a Gatherer's Garden machine
on the right. Use the Power to the People Station to get the Crossbow Damage
Increase upgrade, now turn around to look at the Gatherer's Garden, to the left
of it is an Audio Diary standing against a knocked over File Cabinet:
[Anya Andersdotter] Assassin. Take your Gift next to Gatherer's Garden which
contains 200 ADAM, 4 EVE Hypos and 6 Proximity Mines. Now use the Gatherer's
Garden to buy Electro Bolt 3 and Wrench Lurker 2 but don't equip it.

Now go back down the ramp and turn right into the hatch with the "Heat Loss
Monitoring" signs above it, go through the collapsing tunnel and you will reach
a large corridor, move forward and the lights go out, then move forward again
and the lights go out by some gas canisters. Pick them up with Telekinesis and
throw them at the Splicers pretending to be dead by the door, then go in. Turn
right and walk to the end of this room and you will see a a large canister of
blue liquid on the floor, a Lockbox with Bee Enzyme and an Audio Diary:
[Pablo Navarro] Kyburz Door Control. Now turn around and you will see an
entrance a little to the right, go in and go down the stairs.

Now move to the right and you will see a ghost by a switch and another one in
the water, once the show is over go up to this Disable Electrical Current
switch and hack it to disable the electricity in the water, then go down the
stairs and grab the Audio Diary on the table to the left: [McDonagh] Genetic
Arms Race. Now go to the other side of this room and go down the stairs, loot
all the containers here for lots of junk and then grab the Audio Diary from the
desk on the left: [Pablo Navarro] Getting A Break. Then take the Security
Evasion 2 Physical Gene Tonic from the table but don't equip it.

Goal Completed: Search Heat Loss Monitoring.

New Goal: Go to Kyburz's Workshops.

Now go back up to Upper Heat Loss Monitoring, then through the corridor, then
the tunnel and finally back to the Core. As soon as you get to the Core area
turn right and go up the stairs, then enter the hatch on the right with the
"Workshops" signs above it. Go through the tunnel and enter the Workshops.

Goal Completed: Go to Kyburz's Workshops.

New Goal: Search the Workshops.

As soon as you enter search the desk on the right for Bee Enzyme, then go into
the corridor which was on the right as you entered this area and go through it,
above the Turret here there is a poster of Australia Day which is 01-26. There
is a Safe behind and to the left of the poster. There is also a U-Invent here,
use it you should be able to create another Gene Tonic by now, then go
downstairs to the Lower Workshops and straight into the small room in front of
you. There is an Audio Diary on the desk on the right: [Kyburz] Device Almost
Finished. Listen to it.

Goal Updated: Find Kyburz's Device.

Now turn around and you will see that there is lots of stuff under the stairs
we came down, a little to the right of the stairs is a monitor and to the right
of it is a Crawlspace Door. Use it to get to all the loot and another Audio
Diary: [Pablo Navarro] Market Maintenance Code. Get out of the crawlspace and
turn left to the door with the Keypad, the code is 0126, enter the code and go
inside. The easiest way to get rid of all the Trap Bolts is to keep on pulling
stuff towards you with Telekinesis until the room is clear. Now go to the back
of the room and you will find a desk, behind it and a little to the right is a
File Cabinet with Bee Enzyme in it, then grab the Audio Diary from the desk:
[Andrew Ryan] Great Chain Moves Slowly. Now use the Power to the People Station
to the left to get the Crossbow Breakage Chance upgrade and the Three Fully
Upgraded Weapons Achievement. Now use the Intriguing Switch on the left side of
the desk to open the Nitroglycerin casing, then go up to the Nitroglycerin and
pick it up.

Get out of Kyburz's Office and turn left into a short corridor and then left
again into a large room, move forwards and you will find a corpse on the floor.
Search the corpse for an Audio Diary: [Kyburz] The Dream. Then head up the
stairs on the right and find the Crawlspace Door behind the shelves. Go through
the crawlspace and as soon as you enter the little room turn right, search the
Storage Crate and then grab the Damage Research Combat Gene Tonic from the
table which is useless because you have already either completed your research
or nearly completed it by now so don't equip it. Now grab the Audio Diary from
the table too: [Kyburz] Assembling The Bomb.

Goal Completed: Find Kyburz's Device.

New Goal: Finish Kyburz's EMP Bomb.

Now turn around and go up to the EMP Bomb Casing, press A to Construct and you
will put in the Nitroglycerin we found.

Goal Completed: Put the Nitroglycerin in the EMP Bomb.

Go out of here and go down the stairs and you will see a glowing Big Daddy
corpse, search it to get your first R-34 Wire Cluster.

Find R-34 Wire Cluster: 1/4

Now go upstairs to the Upper Workshops and turn left into the corridor, then
go behind and to the right of the Australia Day poster to find a Quarter-Can of
Ionic Gel on the table. Take it.

Find two quarter-cans of Ionic Gel: 1/2

Now go back to the Core, as soon as you enter this area again turn right and
go down the ramp that is after the stairs going up and you will find another
Quarter-Can of Ionic Gel on a metal control box thing, so pick it up.

Goal Completed: Find two quarter-cans of Ionic Gel.

New Goal: Put the Ionic Gel in the EMP Bomb.

Now go to the little corridor that is between the Central Control and the Core,
there you will find a Big Daddy corpse sitting in the water and there will be
water pouring on him, it's the Big Daddy we took the Brass Tube from. Search
him for the second R-34 Wire Cluster.

Find R-34 Wire Cluster: 2/4

Now we need to rescue the remaining 2 Little Sisters in this level, killing 2
more Big Daddies in the process and taking the 2 R-34 Wire Clusters we still
need. So find a Big Daddy in one of the locations I wrote at the beginning of
the level, research him and the Little Sister, kill him, rescue the Little
Sister by pressing Y and then search the Big Daddy for an R-34 Wire Cluster.

Find R-34 Wire Cluster: 3/4

Now go find the last Big Daddy you need to kill, research him and the Little
Sister if you have not completed all your research yet, kill the Big Daddy,
rescue the Little Sister by pressing Y and search the Big Daddy for the last
R-34 Wire Cluster.

Goal Completed: Find four R-34 Wire Clusters.

New Goal: Put the R-34s in the EMP Bomb.

Before we do that go back to the Core, find the Gatherer's Garden machine and
use it to buy the following: one Physical Tonic Slot and equip EVE Link 2, one
Engineering Tonic Slot and equip Alarm Expert and one Combat Tonic Slot and
equip Human Inferno. Now go to the Lower Workshops and if you have completed
all your research then replace Photographer's Eye 2 with Static Discharge, if
you have not completed all your research yet, then do this later. Now go to the
EMP Bomb in the secret room through the crawlspace and come up to the EMP Bomb
Casing. Press A to Construct.

Goal Completed: Put the Ionic Gel in the EMP Bomb.

Press A to Construct again.

Goal Completed: Put the R-34s in the EMP Bomb.

New Goal: Pick up the device.

Goal Completed: Finish Kyburz's EMP Bomb.

Press A to pick up the Completed EMP Bomb.

Goal Completed: Pick up the device.

New Goal: Place the device on the Core.

Atlas is worried that the device won't work. Now go to the Core, once there
turn right, pass the stairs going up, go down the ramp, continue and go down
another ramp, then turn right into the hatch with the "Geothermal Control"
signs above it. There is a U-Invent up the stairs and in an alcove on the
right, use it and you should be able to create the last Gene Tonic if you have
not already, if you still don't have enough stuff it does not matter, you can
always do it later. Now go into the door and there will be a Turret in front
of you, hack it and then hack the Turret on the other side.

Atlas tells you that you can redirect the magma flow here and boil off the
water so you can get to the Core and plant the EMP Bomb. Ryan will send
Splicers after you though so you should set up a perimeter.

New Goal: Redirect the magma flow.

In the back of the room is the Magma Release Valve you need to use to boil off
the water, behind it is a Storage Crate with 6 Proximity Mines. I suggest you
set a Proximity Mine before and after each door to this room, you can also set
up some Trap Bolts if you want but that would be a little over-kill.

Once you do that, go up to the Magma Release Valve and hold A. Splicers will
start attacking you while you hold A and when the thing at the top turns 90
degrees the magma will start to flow and boil off the water.

Goal Completed: Redirect the magma flow.

Go into the elevator behind you and push the Elevator Button to go down. Exit
the elevator and go into the hatch, then through another and you will see a
corpse on the floor with the Shorten Alarms 2 Engineering Gene Tonic beside it.
Pick it up and equip it instead of Alarm Expert. Then pick up the other loot in
here and continue through the hatch and up the stairs to the Core Lift Control,
use it to go up to the Core. Andrew is getting desperate. When you reach the
top press A to Place EMP Bomb.

Goal Completed: Place the device on the Core.

The Core explodes.

Goal Completed: Overload the Core.

Don't move. An alarmed is going to triggered in a second, so just wait it out
here while you're invisible. Atlas tells you that you can now throw the circuit
breaker in the Central Control outside Ryan's Office.

New Goal: Destroy Ryan's mag-locks.

Wait for the alarm to time out and go up to Central Control where all the
corpses are hanging from the walls, you will be attacked here. Ryan gets really
desperate. Once you kill everybody go up to the Circuit Breaker and use it, the
mag-locks get fried and the door to Ryan opens.

Goal Completed: Destroy Ryan's mag-locks.

Now press BACK to go to the Status Menu, go to the Messages tab and make sure
that you have collected 17 Audio Diaries in Hephaestus... Rapture Central
Control. If for some reason you have not, check the Audio Diary Locations
section under the Walkthrough section to find out which ones you missed and go
find them.

Go through the entrance and use the Bulkhead to Rapture Control.

Goal Completed: Go to Andrew Ryan's Office.

New Goal: Kill Andrew Ryan.

Andrew Ryan sets the city to self destruct and welcomes you into his office
like family. Atlas then tells you to kill Ryan before Rapture self destructs.
As you enter this area go through the short corridor and turn left towards the
Vita-Chamber, to the right of it you will find a table with an Audio Diary on
it: [Suchong] The Vita Chamber. Loot this area and go up the stairs to the
left, there you will find a crawlspace, enter it and drop down. In front of you
there will be the last 2 Audio Diaries in the level on the table: [Suchong]
Baby Status and [Suchong] Mind Control Test. You should now have all 20 Audio
Diaries in Hephaestus... Rapture Central Control. Continue through the door.

Go up to Ryan and watch him play Golf while he speaks. He then tells you to
come into his office, do so. Watch the cut scene. You are a slave.

Goal Completed: Kill Andrew Ryan.

Achievement Unlocked: Defeated Andrew Ryan. Atlas tells you to put the genetic
key into the machine. Go into Ryan's Office and search his desk for 50 Dollars.
Then go under the gate and use the Self Destruct Override. Atlas starts
laughing uncontrollably and then says that there is no Atlas. He reveals that
he is actually Frank Fontaine, he then explains that you were his tool and that
you would do anything he said, if he said "Would You Kindly" and that after the
Self Destruct Override finishes processing the genetic key you got from Ryan he
is going to run Rapture. The gate then opens up again.

New Goal: Escape.

The Little Sister tells you to follow her, so do so, you will find a
crawlspace, enter it and you fall down a tunnel. Level 5 is complete.

[[======== 7. Olympus Heights... Apollo Square =======[OHAS]=================]]

Power to the People Stations: 3

Audio Diaries: 12

Little Sisters: 4

Big Daddy Locations:
1. Olympus Heights, To Apollo Square To Point Prometheus.
2. Olympus Heights, Mercury Suites.
3. Apollo Square, Hestia, Artemis Suites and everything in between.
[[===========================================================================]]

You wake up in Tenenbaum's Safehouse. Tenenbaum tells you that you were born in
Rapture and that Fontaine used you, he brought you back here to save himself.

Goal Completed: Escape.

She thanks you for saving the Little Sisters and then tells you that she made
so Fontaine can't control you anymore. However he has other ways of influencing
you, she then says that you might find answers in Suchong's apartment, the
designer of your mind.

New Goal: Save yourself from Fontaine.

New Goal: Search Suchong's Apartment.

Keep on moving and then follow the Little Sister, she opens a door for you, go
up the stairs and into the Sewers.

Fontaine tells you to commit suicide, then he realises that he can't control
you anymore and instead uses a slower method of killing you: telling your heart
to stop beating. From now on you will loose a little Health every 15 min or so,
so you have to be quick. Go to the end of this area and to the right and you
will find a Gate Crank on the floor by a corpse, pick it up. Now repair the
Gate Crank Socket to the left of the gate and hold A to open it, then go out.
You will emerge in a huge tunnel, continue going straight down and you will
find a tram, look inside for a Safe. There is also Bee Enzyme in the Steamer
Trunk by the tram. Now go to the other side of the tunnel, watch out for a
Turret, now in the centre of this area is a bar, you can get in from either
side. There should also be a Big Daddy around here so destroy him and press Y
to rescue the Little Sister.

On the left side of the counter in the bar there is an Audio Diary: [Suchong]
Mozart Of Genetics. Pass this area into another huge tunnel, continue along
this tunnel looting the tram carts as you go. Soon you will reach the entrance
to Mercury Suites, go up the stairs and watch out for the Security Camera on
the left. Head into the lobby and you will see an elevator in front of you with
a Keypad, now go behind this elevator and you will find a Power to the People
Station to the left of a Security Camera. Use it to get the Chemical Thrower
Range upgrade and the Four Fully Upgraded Weapons Achievement. There should be
a Big Daddy with a Little Sister here too so terminate him and rescue the
Little Sister by pressing Y.

Now from the archway that you entered this area from turn left and you will
find the door to Suchong's Apartment, it says Y. Suchong above the door to his
apartment. Go inside and immediately turn left and go down the corridor, you
will find some knocked over tables and such, look behind them for an Audio
Diary: [Suchong] Fontaine's Human Jukebox. Now go to the other side of this
apartment and you will find the kitchen, loot it and return to where you
entered the apartment. Go into the water in front of you and turn left, go
behind the book shelves and you will find 2 Storage Crates with good loot, now
go up to the 2 desks and search the one on the left for Bee Enzyme. Now grab
the Clever Inventor Engineering Gene Tonic from the desk on the right and equip
it instead of Safecracker, it will help you get the Avid Inventor Achievement
faster. Now grab the Audio Diary from the desk: [Suchong] Mind Control
Antidote.

Goal Completed: Search Suchong's Apartment.

New Goal: Get the Lot 192 remedy.

Get out of the apartment and use the ramp thing around the elevator to get to
the third floor, once you're there turn left and keep moving until you reach a
U-Invent, right after it is a Storage Crate and a camera stand, grab the Audio
Diary on top of the crate: [Paparazzi] Fontaine's Breakup. Then continue moving
and you will find a hole in the wall leading into Tenenbaum's bathroom, enter
and loot the bathroom, continue further into the apartment and turn right, pass
the stairs going down and turn right again. Tenenbaum will say that her Lot 192
sample was probably taken to Fontaine's Apartment.

Goal Updated: Get the Lot 192 remedy.

Loot this room and go down the stairs we past before, before you exit through
the door here, turn right into another room and you will find a Safe. Now go to
the door, break the lock on it and go to the bottom floor. As you come down
look to the right and the use the Keypad on the elevator, the code is: 5744.
Enter the elevator and push the Elevator Button to go up. There is a Security
Camera at the other side of the room in front of you, a Turret behind the big
rock and Splicers, kill them all. Go into Fontaine's Apartment and turn right
into a large room, you will see a small table between 2 sofas and on it is an
Audio Diary: [Frank Fontaine] Sad Saps. Now go to the right onto the kitchen
and loot it, get out of this area, go up the stairs towards the polar bear and
turn right into the door. Loot this area, there is also a Safe here in a
corner, then go through the door by the bar and into the door across into a
little room. Grab the Electric Flesh 2 Combat Gene Tonic from the desk and
equip it instead of Static Discharge. From now on electrical attacks won't hurt
you at all, even Trap Bolts. Now grab the sample of Lot 192 from the small
table in the corner.

Goal Completed: Get the Lot 192 remedy.

Your Health will now come back to normal but you will start to change Plasmids
uncontrollably, even those you don't have.

New Goal: Get a second dose of Lot 192.

Get out of Fontaine's Apartment and into the elevator, push the button to go
down. Get out of the elevator turn around and go straight into Culpepper's
Apartment, pass the sofas, go through archway and immediately turn right to see
a small table with an Audio Diary on it: [Sullivan] Artist Feud. Loot the rest
of this floor and then go to the second, there is a Grand Piano you can play
here by tapping A. Loot the rest of this floor then get out of the apartment
from the first floor, now go up to the third floor. Once on the third floor
turn right and then right again and go into the door here, loot the first floor
and then go up to the second. Loot this floor and then jump through the hole in
the floor back to the first floor, get out of the apartment, now go to the
second floor of Mercury Suites and go into the apartment on the right (check
the Map). There is a Safe behind the bed in this place, loot the rest of the
apartment and go down to the first floor of Mercury Suites.

Now I left the best for last. To the right is the entrance to Sander Cohen's
apartment, go inside and Cohen welcomes you, look to the right to see a door,
you can't go in. Set up 5 Trap Bolts outside this door. DO NOT disturb the
dancing Splicers yet, loot the apartment and then quickly kill the 2 Splicers
somehow. Sander Cohen will get mad and come down from his room to teach you a
lesson in obedience, unfortunately for him he will run into the Trap Bolts but
only if he does not see you as he comes out of the door, so hide once you kill
the Splicers. Once he's dead, search him and you get his Muse Key, this opens
the Muse Box in Fort Frolic but it's not worth going back for it. Now take a
picture of Sander Cohen's corpse for the Irony Achievement. Then go into the
door he came out of into his personnel quarters for the Found Cohen's Room
Achievement. As you come up here turn left to see a Power to the People
Station, use it to get the Machine Gun Damage Increase upgrade, now loot this
room and get out of Cohen's apartment you murderer.

Now we need to go to Apollo Square, so go back through the huge Tunnel to the
bar where we found our first Audio Diary, grab your Gift which contains: 200
ADAM, Armored Shell 2 Combat Gene Tonic and 12 Incendiary Bolts near the
Gatherer's Garden machine here and equip Armored Shell 2 instead of Human
Inferno. Now opposite this place is the Bulkhead to Apollo Square, so use it.

Once you're through turn left and go up the stairs, then turn left again and
you will see a knocked over Vending Machine, to the right of it on the floor is
an Audio Diary in an open Suitcase: [Diane McClintock] What's Happening Here?
Take it and go through the gate into a huge tunnel, pass the tram and you will
see a Big Daddy with a Little Sister getting attacked by Splicers. Help the
Splicers kill the Big Daddy and then rescue the Little Sister by pressing Y.
Continue along the tunnel and you will reach an a large area with a wooden
structure in the middle, corpses are hanging from it, it also has a "Gene
Traitor" sign on it. Now go into the alcove on the right and you will find a
Gatherer's Garden, a little to the left of it is a Storage Crate with 2 Bee
Enzyme if you still need it. Between the crate and the Gatherer's Garden on the
floor is an Audio Diary: [Diane McClintock] Atlas Lives.

There is a U-Invent on the right, you should have invented all the Gene Tonics
by now, but if you have not you should be able to do it now, you should also be
able to invent a lot of other stuff but don't invent it just yet. Search for a
Big Daddy around here, kill him and rescue the Little Sister by pressing Y. Now
you will get another Gift so go back to the Gatherer's Garden and take it, it
contains: 200 ADAM, Prolific Inventor Engineering Gene Tonic and 150 Liquid
Nitrogen. Equip Prolific Inventor instead of Clever Inventor. You should also
have 810 ADAM by now.

Now opposite the Gatherer's Garden machine is the entrance to the tunnel that
leads to Artemis Suites, so go there, go through the tunnel and enter Artemis
Suites. In front of you there will be a Vending Machine and behind it a
Security Camera, so be careful. Behind the camera is a door which leads to
Artemis First Floor, enter it and loot this area for some good stuff, there is
also a U-Invent here. Now get out of this area and go up to Artemis Second
Floor using the stairs and go into Suchong's Free Clinic. As soon as you enter
watch out for the Security Camera on the left, then enter the door on the right
into the bathroom. Loot this place and grab the Medical Expert 3 Physical Gene
Tonic from the floor in the middle cubicle and equip it instead of Medical
Expert 2. Now exit the bathroom and walk straight ahead into a corridor, turn
left and you will find a door, enter.

By the desk with the corpse is an Audio Diary on the floor: [Suchong]
Protection Bond. Grab it and go to the other side of the room where you will
find the second sample of Lot 192 near the Stove, so take that too for the
Broke Fontaine's Mind Control Achievement.

Goal Completed: Save yourself from Fontaine.

Your Plasmids are back to normal and Tenenbaum says that Fontaine can't do
nothing to you anymore and that you should go to Point Prometheus to eliminate
Fontaine.

New Goal: Go to Point Prometheus.

Get out of the Free Clinic and go upstairs to Artemis Third Floor, enter the
door here and loot the place, there is a Safe in the bathroom. Now go down to
Artemis First Floor and use the U-Invent, you should be able to create a lot of
stuff. Now go back to the tunnel and to the Gatherer's Garden, use it and buy
the following: Speedy Hacker 2 Engineering Gene Tonic and equip it instead of
Speedy Hacker, one Plasmid Slot for the Maxed One Track Achievement, one
Physical Tonic Slot and equip Extra Nutrition 3, one Engineering Tonic Slot and
equip Clever Inventor, one Combat Tonic Slot for the Maxed All Tracks
Achievement and equip Human Inferno and then buy Enrage and equip it in your
last Plasmid Slot.

Once you do that go back to Olympus Heights and to the Gatherer's Garden there,
use it and buy one Health Upgrade and one EVE Upgrade. Now go back to Apollo
Square, follow the tunnel until you reach the wooden structure, pass it and go
towards the Bathysphere Station, pass the stairs that take you down to the
Bathysphere Station and head towards Hestia Chambers, you will see some ghosts.
Now head into the gate into the Hestia Chambers, watch out for the Turret up
above. As soon as you enter look to the right and you will see a little shack
made out of sheet metal, search in the Steamer Trunk for an Audio Diary:
[Diane McClintock] Meeting Atlas.

Now go up the stairs to Hestia Second Floor, enter through any of the 2 doors
and loot the place, then find the stairs in here that take you down to the
Boiler Room. Go down the stairs to the Boiler Room and loot the place, then go
back up to Hestia Second Floor and exit through one of the doors, now go up to
Hestia Third Floor. Enter the door on the left, loot this place and get out, go
up to Hestia Fifth Floor and break through the wooden planks on the left. Jump
into the hole in the floor here and loot the room you fall down into, then jump
out of the window. Go back up to Hestia Fifth Floor and enter the door on the
right on the right this time, walk forwards and look to the left and you will
see a cell-like room full of weapons. Use Telekinesis to pull it all in and
then turn around and move forward, you will find some stairs and a Security
Camera.

Go down the stairs and you will see a Power to the People Station a little to
the right, use it and get the Machine Gun Kickback Reduction upgrade for the
Five Fully Upgraded Weapons Achievement. Turn around and you will see 3 Steamer
Trunks by 3 beds, search them for a lot of loot. Now go further into this room
and you will find a hole in the floor, be careful not to fall in. On the right
you will see an Audio Diary on a desk: [Frank Fontaine] The Longest Con. Then
take the Focused Hacker 2 Engineering Gene Tonic from the same desk and don't
equip it. There is also another desk here with a corpse on it, search the
corpse for another Audio Diary: [Diane McClintock] Today's Raid. Pick it up and
raid the Safe here, then go down to Hestia Chambers and use the U-Invent there,
you should be able to invent a lot of stuff now.

Now press BACK to go to the Status Menu, go to the Messages tab and make sure
that you have collected 12 Audio Diaries in Olympus Heights... Apollo Square.
If for some reason you have not, check the Audio Diary Locations section under
the Walkthrough section to find out which ones you missed and go find them.

Now go to the stairs that lead down to the Bathysphere Station I told you to
pass before and get in the elevator, push the Elevator Button. Frank gets real
angry. Continue through the hatch and then down into the bathysphere, pull the
Bathysphere Lever. Level 6 is complete.

As you come up in the bathysphere you see Fontaine in front of you, he then
picks up a big piece of something and throws it away, clearing the path. He
says that he has all the ADAM in the city and is now using it. Tenenbaum tells
you to kill him.

New Goal: Find Fontaine.

Continue and Fontaine lights a fire in front of you, wait it out and then keep
moving through the glass hatch. Fontaine then sends 2 Security Bots after you,
after you deal with them, go up the stairs and turn right, go out of this area
and you see Fontaine shoot the doors control box and jump through before it
closes. Tenenbaum tells you to find a dead Big Daddy and search him.

New Goal: Search a Big Daddy corpse.

Lucky for you there is a Big Daddy corpse in this room lying on some glass, go
up to the corpse and search it for the Suit Control System.

New Goal: Become a Big Daddy.

Tenenbaum says that to get through the door you need a Little Sister, but the
Little Sisters will only trust you if you look, smell and sound like a Big
Daddy. So let's get to it. Near the Big Daddy corpse is a Power to the People
Station on the wall, use it to get the Pistol Damage Increase upgrade. There
are Proximity Mines on the bookshelves here which you can use Telekinesis to
get. Now go through one of the 2 doors here and continue into the Little
Wonders Educational Facility.

Goal Updated: Smell: Find 3 Big Daddy Pheromone Samples.

Tenenbaum says that you will need to find 3 Pheromone Samples to smell like the
Big Daddies and that they can be found here in Little Wonders. Go through the
door and turn right to see 2 Turrets, deal with them and jump through a window.
Do not kill any Big Daddies yet. Go out the door and use the Door Control for
the first door on the left here, then go in and take the first Pheromone Sample
by the teddy bear.

Pheromone Sample Found: 1/3

Get out of this room and turn left, continue a little and you will find a door
with an "Autopsy" sign next to it, go in and watch out for the Security Camera.
Go to the back of the room and you will see a ghost in the Temporary Waste
Storage room. Now take the Pheromone Sample from the desk.

Pheromone Sample Found: 2/3

Now take the Safecracker 2 Engineering Gene Tonic from the desk but don't equip
it, loot this room and then exit it. Go to the right side now and you will find
two more little rooms to loot, one on each side, then continue up stairs on the
right here. As soon as you're up turn left and head towards the desks, you will
find the last Pheromone Sample on the first desk and an Audio Diary on the
second: [Tenenbaum] Why Just Girls?

Goal Completed: Smell: Find 3 Big Daddy Pheromone Samples.

From up here you can use Telekinesis to pull up loot from the rooms you could
not enter from downstairs, once you're done, enter the door here that has "Main
Hall" signs above it. There is a Security Camera in this corridor so be
careful. As soon as you exit the corridor you will see 2 doors in front of you,
enter the one on the left to get into the Mendel Family Library. Once you enter
the door walk forward a little and enter another door on the left, watch out
for a Turret and Security Camera here. Go into the centre of this area and you
will find the Damage Research 2 Combat Gene Tonic near the Big Daddy Boots.
Pick up the Gene Tonic but don't equip it because you should have finished your
research a long time ago by now. Now take the Big Daddy Boots, you will now
make more noise when you run around.

Loot this area and exit it the way you came in, now turn left and you should
see a huge "Optimized Eugenics" sign above 2 doors, go there but before you
enter there is a door on the right that's blocked by ice. Melt the ice and
enter the little room , here you will find an Audio Diary in a Trash Can:
[Suchong] Changing Employees. Now get out of this room and turn right, then
enter the door on the right to Optimised Eugenics.

Goal Updated: Sound: Use the Larynx Modification Machine.

Deal with the Security Camera and then enter the first door on the right that
has a "Live Subject Testing" sign, go up the stairs here and into the door with
the "Live Subject Control Room" sign. Grab the Alarm Expert 2 Engineering Gene
Tonic but don't equip it, then use the Voicebox Modification Machine.

Goal Completed: Use the Larynx Modification Machine.

Tenenbaum tells you that you just have to get the body suit now. Loot this room
and exit Live Subject Testing, as soon as you do turn right and go into the
door on the right that has a "Plasmid Prototyping" sign next to it. As soon as
you enter look to the left for a Turret, behind this Turret is a corpse and an
Audio Diary: [Suchong] Extra Munitions. Now loot this room and exit Plasmid
Prototyping through the other door here. As you exit you will see a door with a
"Backup Generator " sign above it, enter this room and watch out for the
Security Camera. Go into the electrified water here, it won't hurt because we
have spliced so many electrical Gene Tonics, there is a Safe here, now exit
this room.

You will see 2 doors in front of you, the one to the right leads back to
Plasmid Prototyping where we have already been and the one a little to the left
leads into Eugenic Analysis. Enter Eugenic Analysis and go to the left to the
back of the room where you will find a Power to the People Station, use it to
get your last upgrade: Pistol Clip Size and the Weapon Specialist Achievement.
There is also a Safe back here, once you're done with the Safe exit this area
and turn right into a door with a "Test Subject Storage" sign. Go in and keep
to the right and you will find an Audio Diary on a big metal control box thing:
[Andrew Ryan] Marketing Gold. Loot this room and exit it, then exit Optimised
Eugenics.

Now go straight ahead and across the bridge and you will see 2 doors which lead
into Failsafe Armored Escorts. Enter the door on the right, and look to the
left to see an entrance with a "Security Monitoring Room" sign above it, go in
and loot the place, you can also hack 2 Security Bots here if you want. Now exit
this room the way you came in and continue down the corridor until you find a
door with a "Candidate Conversion" sign next to it. Enter Candidate Conversion
and go to the back of this room, you will find 4 desks here, there is an Audio
Diary on the first desk from the right: [Suchong] Missing Boots. To the right
of this desk is the a Safe, once you're done with it loot the rest of this area
and then exit through the door you came in from.

Go through the small corridor and then turn left, continue along the corridor
and then turn right into the Security Monitoring Room with all the Security
Bots, go through it and move along the corridor until you reach a room on the
left with a "Candidate Induction" sign next to it. Enter this room and take the
Hacker's Delight 3 Physical Gene Tonic from the desk in the left side of the
room but don't equip it. Next take a Big Daddy Helmet.

Goal Completed: Find a Big Daddy Helmet.

Tenenbaum tells you that you only need a body suit now. Now exit this area from
the other door here, not the one you came in from. Once you come in to this
next area you will see stairs on your left, pass them now and move forwards
while keeping to the left and you will reach some stairs going down into some
water. Turn left from here and you will see a door with a Keypad, the code is
1921, enter the code and then enter the room, loot the room and then take a
Big Daddy Bodysuit from here. From now on you have 25% more resistance to all
damage, Splicers will also ignore you now. Achievement Unlocked: Became a Big
Daddy.

Goal Completed: Look: Find a Big Daddy Bodysuit.

New Goal: Return to Proving Grounds.

Goal Completed: Become a Big Daddy.

Tenenbaum tells you to go to the Little Sister vent in the Atrium by the
Proving Grounds and Fontaine gets scared. Now exit this room, you will see
another door in front of you blocked by ice but we will go there later, right
now go up those stairs I told you to pass before. You will enter a small room,
grab the Audio Diary on the File Cabinet by the desks here: [Suchong]
Protecting Little Ones. Now enter the door here and continue through another
door, there is an Audio Diary to the right of the Gene Bank on a small metal
control box thing: [Andrew Ryan] Mistakes. Continue into another door here and
through another into a small room, there is an Audio Diary on a big metal
control box thing: [Suchong] Protector Smell.

Now go down the stairs here and turn right, you will see a hatch a little to
the left, remember it, now continue to the right and you will find the door
blocked by ice I was talking about before. Melt the ice, enter the room and
grab the last Audio Diary from the table here for the Historian Achievement:
[Suchong] Cheap Son Of A Bitch. If the Achievement does not unlock then go to
the Status Menu and figure out which Audio Diaries you missed. Now exit this
room and go into the hatch I told you to remember, loot the place.

Now that we're all suited up we can kill the Big Daddies in this level and
rescue the last 3 Little Sisters. Rescue the last 3 Little Sisters and you will
get the Dealt With Every Little Sister Achievement. Now go to the Gatherer's
Garden machine and take your Gift which contains: 200 ADAM, 100 Antipersonnel
Auto Rounds and 4 First Aid Kits. Now use the Gatherer's Garden to buy the
following: Health Upgrade, EVE Upgrade, Human Inferno 2 Combat Gene Tonic for
the Tonic Collector Achievement and equip it instead of Human Inferno. Then
buy Incinerate 3 and Winter Blast 3 and equip it instead of Hypnotise Big Daddy
2. Now go up to the Little Sister vent in the Atrium. Tenenbaum will tell you
to hit it with your Wrench.

New Goal: Summon a Little Sister.

Go up to the vent, take out your Wrench and hit the vent, a Little Sister will
climb out of it.

New Goal: Escort the Little Sister.

The Little Sister can be killed by Splicers and Turrets so be careful.

The Little Sister will climb through and then open the door for you, go down
the stairs and use the Bulkhead to Proving Grounds. Now go up the stairs into
the Memorial Museum, then go straight ahead into the Gift Shop, loot it and
then follow the Little Sister up some stairs and through another door and watch
the Big Daddy get killed by the skeleton. Don't follow the Little Sister here
but turn right into a gate, you will find some stuff here. Now follow the
Little Sister through another door, soon you will come across a corpse with a
"Test Subject #1" sign above it and the Little Sister will start harvesting.

If your Little Sister gets killed than you can call another one from a vent
nearby. Quickly plant Proximity Mines in the corridors and set up some Trap
Bolts and get ready to protect the Little Sister. There is also some loot on
the corpse. When the Little Sister is done follow her to Test Subject #2. There
is a Turret a little past the second corpse so hack it and then secure the
perimeter. There is loot on this corpse too. Once she is done she will run off,
so follow her and hack the Turret up ahead before it kills her. She opens
another door for you and you see a Bouncer on a balcony that's mad at you for
some unknown reason, maybe Fontaine sent him?

Now run ahead of the Little Sister and hack the Turrets before they kill her,
then go through the next door. Eventually you will reach the last test subject.
This is the hardest bit, hack the Turret and Security Camera here and secure
the perimeter, once the fight is over follow the Little Sister. Up ahead the
Big Daddy from before breaks through a wall and attacks you, kill him and
continue through another door. Fontaine talks to you again and his voice has
changed from all the ADAM. Now the Little Sister opens the last door but don't
go there yet, continue and you will find a gate to the left with a Safe. Then
go through the door the Little Sister opened for you.

Goal Completed: Escort the Little Sister.

Tenenbaum tells you that you need to take the needle from the Little Sister to
be able to drain Fontaine of his ADAM.

New Goal: Get the Adam Harvesting Tool.

Now use the Gatherer's Garden machine here to get a Health and EVE Upgrade.
Now loot this place, then waste all your money in the Vending Machine and the
Ammo Bandito on supplies, then use the U-Invent to create as much stuff as
possible. Now use the Gene Bank to equip the following Physical Gene Tonics:
Medical Expert 3, Medical Expert 2, EVE Link 2, EVE Link, Sport Boost 2 and
Sport Boost. Then equip the following Combat Gene Tonics: Electric Flesh 2,
Electric Flesh, Frozen Field 2, Human Inferno 2, Armored Shell 2 and Armored
Shell. Now go up to the Little Sister in the vent that's by the elevator and
take the ADAM Harvesting Tool from her.

New Goal: Take the elevator to confront Fontaine.

Get in the elevator and push the Elevator Button. Level 7 complete.

[[======== 9. Fontaine ===============================[NOFT]=================]]

You can't save the game here.

Goal Completed: Find Fontaine.

New Goal: Drain ADAM from Fontaine.

Walk up to Frank and press A to Drain Adam. He hits you and jumps down, he is
in his fire form, so don't use any fire based ammo types or Plasmids against
him now, instead use everything else, the best stuff you've got. The Grenade
Launcher still works well though. Make sure you strafe when he fires things at
you and when he charges. Once his Health bar reaches zero he teleports back
into his chair.

If you're not quick enough he will jump down again.

Walk up to Frank and press A to Drain Adam. He hits you and jumps down, he is
in his ice form now so don't use any ammo types or Plasmids based on ice.
Security Bots also attack you now, but I suggest you ignore them and focus on
Fontaine. Once his Health bar reaches zero he teleports back into his chair.

Walk up to Frank and press A to Drain Adam. He hits you and jumps down, he is
in his electrical form now so don't use any Plasmids or ammo types based on
electricity. Splicers attack you now, I suggest quickly killing them off and
then focusing on Fontaine. Once his Health bar reaches zero he teleports back
into his chair.

Walk up to Frank and press A to Drain Adam for the last time. He hits you and
jumps down, only this time a bunch of Little Sisters jump on him and needle him
to death. Achievement Unlocked: Defeated Atlas.

Then the good ending starts and you get 2 more Achievements: Little Sister
Savior and Seriously Good At This. You should have all 50 Achievements now.

Well this is how I like to play Bioshock, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I

If you have any comments or questions for this guide please contact me at
[email protected], just put Bioshock in the subject so I know it's not spam
but about this guide or Bioshock in general.

This is also my first guide of any kind so let me know what you think. Thanks.

I will read and reply to every message unless of course it's spam or abuse in
which case I will only reply if I'm tempted to.
