Question for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

I went on cod 4 to day on Xbox 360 and I noticed that I have went for lv 34 down to lv 1 over night so I played for a while got to lv 8 then I turned every thing of after leaving the game and I went back on it and I am back down to lv 1 again does anyone know why it is doing it ??

It maybe due the fact that a lot of glitching/cheating maybe going on within the multiplayer section.
