Another good way to beat the hunters on legendary is to get a plasma rifle, I'm serious it's very effective against them.

Or another good way is to use a sniper (human preferably) and shoot them in the orange bit. (you know what I mean!!! ;) )

Another good way is to kill it's friend wait ti'll it charges jump over it and stick it's hunter spine with a plasma grenade.
