Why can't I use the headset for Xbox live???/using the two month thing it doest work?

I have no idea. I also use the two month free trial and as far as I know my headset works. Make sure you have the headset turned on, there should be a green light on the part of the communicator just above the top of the controller if it isn't on push the button next to it ( although this may not happen on the official headset but it does on my Rainbow Six one).
