Question for LEGO The Lord of the Rings

Can I create a character at the start of the game?Also what about the free play on wii?can I travel anywhere in Middle-Earth or only in specific areas like Minas Tirith,or Mordor?

I think you have to beat the game before you can customize

The character creation part is in Bag End, the hobbit house with the green door in Hobbiton. I don't know if you have to beat the game or not.

You cannot create your own character until after you beat story mode (all levels for each movie, except the Bonus Level).

The character creater is in Hobbiton, specifically Bilbo and Frodo's house. It is the house you started the game at, the one with the green door and the blue stud on the porch. You can also set it as a destination using your map.

I found I could not return to bag end after leaving the shire, I'd just finished the mission at Weatherto

You have to beat the game to create characters.

You can customize your own Character in hobbiton where you can see a little text saing Bag end is frodo and bilbos house walk in there and in the corner you can customize an character

You must first complete all the levels (except the Bonus Level, located behind a waterfall in Rivendell) then you must travel from Minas Tirith (starting postion) to Hobbiton, find Bag End(has green door)and the custom character design is the second arch way on the right.
