Full Review for Wii Sports by DeadWing

Introduction

Wii Sports is, in most cases, the first game you get for the Wii. If you buy the Wii brand new from a store, this game will come with it. In some cases, if you buy it used and/or at a garage/yard sale, this game will not come with it. If you don't have this game, I recommend getting it as soon as possible. It is worth the money, and covers some good sports.

Graphics

I will divide this part into sections based on each sport.

Tennis-the graphics are really good. The grass looks awesome. The text is clear. When you get a point, the musical notes that appear above your head look great. When your opponent gets a point, the angry blobs that appear above your head also look great.

Baseball-the graphics of the field are great. The grass looks great and so does the dirt. When a character is running the bases, he/she actually kicks up dust. When you hit a home run, you get a cool graphic that is really great. The worst thing in graphics here is the fact that the characters hop around because they don't have any legs.

Bowling-the graphics in bowling are awesome. You can see which way your ball is spinning if you give it spin. The floor reflects just like a real bowling floor does. You get cool graphics if you get a spare or a strike, and even cooler the more strikes you get in a row. The worst thing about these graphics is that all of the characters in the background don't have legs, only you do.

Golf-the trees, water, and sand traps all look really real. The grass looks pretty real, but it looks more reflective then it does in real life. You can even see dust being blown by the wind. Nothing wrong with the graphics here.

Boxing-the ring looks really good. If you win (or even if you lose) a cool graphic comes up saying so. If you get a perfect shot at the other guy, a cool graphic comes. The crowd looks really bad though, and this is the worst thing about graphics here.

Overall, the graphics are great. There are only a few flaws, mainly the fact that other characters don't always have legs or arms.

Sound

I will divide this part into sections based on each sport.

Tennis-for the most part, the sound is great. The ball bouncing on the ground sounds like it does in real life. The announcer's voice sounds great. When you swing the racket, you hear a swishing noise. The swishing noise doesn't sound entirely realistic, but it is pretty close. The ball bouncing off the racket doesn't sound real at all. This is the worst part of the sound in tennis.

Baseball-the sound is great. The announcer's voice sounds real and it even echoes. The crowd's cheering in the background sounds real also. When the bat and the ball made contact, it didn't sound very realistic though.

Bowling-the sound is awesome. Bowling balls hitting the floor sound real. Bowling balls hitting the pins sound real. Everything in the bowling alley sound just as real as they do in real life. The crowd in the background has a cheer that sounds real even.

Gold-the sound is pretty good. The ambiance (birds, wind, water, etc.) sound real. The crowd cheering you on, sighing if you miss a shot, etc. Sounds real. The worst thing here is that when the ball bounces on the ground, it sounds kind of fake.

Boxing-the sound is awesome. The punches sound pretty real, but when you get a knockout, the announcer's voice comes from the wiimote's speakers and it sounds pretty bad. The crowd cheering in the background sounds really good too.

Gameplay

You have five sports to choose from, each one a lot like the real life version. You have some training exercises. Three different modes of training for each sport. You have the Wii Fitness mode, which allows you to see what your fitness age is. All of these things are great and fun to do.

Lastability

Even with all of the modes, it gets boring after awhile. You play it, get bored, but then you start playing it again. The lastability will probably depend on how long you actually own the game. You'll be playing this until the disc breaks or you sell the Wii. But you won't play it every day. You'll play it on and off.
But overall, this game will last a long time, but it does get boring on and off.

Overall

This game has awesome graphics and awesome sound.
There are a ton of modes and sports to do.
The lastabilty is really long.
This game is definitely worth the money and I recommend getting it as soon as you can (if you don't already have it).
I hope this review helps you in deciding.
