Void Bastards Cheats and Tips

Void Bastards is a strategic first-person shooter set in space. You play the role of a prisoner who has to explore a randomly generated map filled with space stations, starships, and enemies in search of resources to build new weapons, tools and upgrades to complete your objective of leading the rag-tag Void Bastards and escape out of the Sargasso Nebula. Cheats, Tips and Strategy

Below is a collection of hints and tips that will help you to progress in the game. These include crafting the Padded Jacket and looting. As well as these hints and tips we also have a mini-guide here which goes into more details on some of the tips we have below:

02 Meter

The 02 meter will begin to count down each time you land on a starship or spacestation. It is important that you keep an eye on it and go to the Atmo Room before the meter gets too low otherwise you will start to choke and lose health until you die. Check out our Rooms Guide to find out he purpose of each of the rooms you find on the starships and space stations.

Craft the Padded Jacket

Craft the Padded Jacket at the Workbench using the Restraint Pad as soon as possible as it will increase your maximum health significantly. Upgrade it whenever you can to increase the time you can wander around.

Finding Ammo

One way to obtain more ammo is to search ships with vending machines in them. You will be able to spot them on the Sargasso Nebula map as they have the letter K on them. Board them, and you will be able to buy ammo for your weapons using Merits.

Avoid Enemies

Try to avoid enemies whenever you can as they can respawn endlessly, and your ammo is limited. Check out our Defeating Enemies Guide to find out how you can eliminate the enemies you encounter.

Close Doors

Makes sure you close doors behind you in order to avoid getting attacked from behind and finding yourself in a room full of enemies.

Healing

There are two ways that you can heal, these are by resting and by using health stations. Health stations can only be found on specific XONNOX-style starships.

Looting

Cabinets, drawers, drones, and anything else you can loot will be highlighted green. Loose items such as Merit will have a cloud of sparkles rising off of them. Check out our How to get Merits page to find out how you can find this currency.

Best Trait

The best trait is Sixth Sense as it gives you the location of every enemy on the starship or space station you enter. If you know beforehand where the enemies are it makes avoiding them easier.
