The Surge 2 lets you craft weapons, items, equipment that you can use to take down the most powerful enemies. To do so though takes effort and time as you will begin the game with a limited amount of resources at your disposal. This How to Craft guide will help tell you how you can get the blueprints for weapons and equipment, how to craft them, and also how to upgrade them.
As you progress through The Surge 2 you will encounter powerful enemies and bosses which you will need to defeat in order to progress. This means making sure your character has the best armour and weapons possible, this can be achieved by crafting them. To be able to do so requires blueprints.
In The Surge 2 blueprints can be obtained by farming for the particular part you need by engaging in combat. This means finding a particular type of enemy that has a part that you need and then keep on targetting the same particular part in combat before finally ripping it off your opponent with a finishing move. A notification will appear on screen once you have picked up the blueprint.
Once you have all the blueprints you need head to the Med Bay to use the assembly station. Along with the blueprint you will also need the required amount of scrap. Higher levels of gear require more scrap to craft. The cost of crafting goes up with the level of the item you are trying to craft. To craft a full armour set you will need a Head Core processor, Arm Power Regulator, Chest RIG Armour, and LEG Pneumatic cylinder.
To upgrade the armour and weapons you have crafted requires the same components, weapons will also need Tungesten which can be obtained by cutting off weapon hands of enemies. The upgrade you perform will be tied to the level of component you used to upgrade, if you farm enough high-end components you can boost your armour and weapon a lot quicker. Both weapons and armour sets can be further upgraded with Nano Core's once you hit the level 4 soft-cap. Nano Core's are components that can be found across the map at various locations. If you are unable to access one of these Nano Core components it may be because it is restricted by your character level which will have to be boosted to retrieve it.
