Death Guide

The Surge 2 has a high level of difficulty which you are unable to change so you will find yourself dying often as you progress through the game. This Death Guide will tell you everything you need to know when it happens.

Death in The Surge 2 is never permanent, whenever your character loses all their health or is killed during combat you will find yourself waking up at the nearest respawn point, this will either be a mission checkpoint or the MedBay you last visited. You will quickly discover though that you have lost all the Tech Scrap you had collected. As long as it is done within a certain amount of time you can retrieve this Tech Scrap by going to the place where you left off. In the upper left corner of the screen you will see how much time you have left to collect your Tech Scrap, how far away it's located and in what amount you have abandoned it.

If along the way to retrieve your Tech Scrap from where you left it you eliminate enemies your time limit will extend at the rate of +10 seconds a kill. You may need to take advantage of this mechanic if you need more time to reach your Tech Scrap. If you die on your way to get your Tech Scrap, you will lose the chance to get it back. The Tech Scrap collected along the way will 'overwrite' the previous pile of Tech Scrap. After death and visiting MedBay, enemies (except bosses) will respawn on the map.
