How to Level Up Fast in The Division 2

The best part of the of The Divison 2 is the endgame but to reach that stage means wading through 40 hours of gameplay. The endgame begins when you reach Level 30 and to get to that point requires a lot of XP. If you follow our recommendations on how to level up fast, you should be able to get there significantly quicker.

Accolade Perks

To begin with you need to make sure you get the right perks when you visit the Quartermaster at the White House. The perks you need to be looking at are Accolades, these are a series of perks that cost 1 SHD tech point each and give you a different XP bonus in combat. Listed below are the five Accolade Perks you should get to help you level up fast and how to earn their bonuses.

Headshot Accolade:

Headshot kills award an XP bonus.

Multi-kill Accolade:

Killing multiple enemies at the same time award an XP bonus.

Weakpoints Accolade:

Kills triggered by destroying weakpoints award an XP bonus.

Tactical Kill Accolade:

Kills triggered by destroying environment objects award an XP bonus.

Survivor:

Not dying for a long amount of time, solo or in a group, will award increasing XP bonuses.

By the time you have completed the second story mission (Jefferson Memorial Center) you should have enough SHD tech to unlock every Accolade perk. Make sure you prioritise getting these Accolades before you do anything else as they will enable you to accumulate XP a lot quicker and level up fast in The Division 2. Don't be tempted into entering the Dark Zone before you reach Level 30 as this feature has its own progression system and the XP it offers is different from the rest of the game. This also applies to Conflict where participating in this traditional PvP mode will not help you get to the endgame any quicker.

Story Missions

Without doubt the biggest source of XP comes from completing story missions. These are represented on the map with a hexagonal icon and getting to Level 30 as fast as possible means that it is important that you do these missions at the correct time. This means you need to ensure that you do not attempt them too early and at too low a level so that you struggle or too late where the XP you earn won't go as far. The ideal time to go and clear a story mission is as soon as you hit the recommended level.

Side Missions

If you find that you have not got the recommended XP before attempt the next Story mission you may need to consider the doing the side missions as these are the next best way to accumulate XP. Side missions are identified as pentagonal icons on the map, they will be shorter than Story missions and offer less XP. Side missions are always worth doing as they allow you to obtain useful crafting materials.

Team Up

It is advised that you form alliances with other players when you attempt story or side missions as the amount of enemies that spawn in a mission scales with how many players there are and you will earn XP for any kill your team makes. When you consider the Accolades you have you can potentially double or triple the amount of XP you would earn by playing solo.

Activities

Although they give less XP than a side mission you should not ignore the activities such as control points, public executions and propaganda transmitters as there will be times when these events will be tied into the Projects found at every settlement and with a bit of work can be a good source for extra XP. Check out our What are Settlements page to find out more about these activities.
