Terra Battle 2 features a deeper and more prominent story line than the original. You begin Chapter 1 taking on the role of a young warrior called Sarah who is on a journey of discovery. Unlike the original game there is now an actual cast of characters to follow, as well as planned weekly chapter updates to move their stories along. The plot of Terra Battle 2 is new and there is now a world map which you make your way across as you battle the enemies you encounter and complete chapters.
In order to attack in the battles you must move squares around on a grid so you position your characters in a 'pincer' that surrounds an enemy either horizontally, vertically, or in a corner. Getting your characters in position so they are lined up to unleash a combo is not easy as you are limited to five seconds of movement before your turn is over. If after the five seconds have elapsed you are still deciding where to place your character they will be dropped and placed wherever it is you just so happen to be hovering at the time your turn is up. The time limit does not start until you move your character so take as much time as you need before you actually move them.
The map scrolls with your party as you make your way across it and while doing so you should look to maneuver to the shiny dots for the treasure, and into enemy configurations to initiate battles.
